This 17th century farmhouse is in quiet countryside on the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal, close to the M42. It has free parking, a tennis court, a restaurant and a bar. All rooms have tea/coffee making facilities and an en suite bathroom and a good breakfast is served every morning. The Brook Marston Farm Hotel is less than 2 miles from the Belfry Golf Resort and 10 miles from Birmingham International Airport and the NEC (National Exhibition Centre). The country house has kept most of its original country charm, including real fireplaces and wooden beams. The Courtyard Restaurant serves European food and guests can sit outside when the weather is good. Parts of the Marston Farm hotel date back to the 1600s. It was once owned by Sir Robert Peel, former Prime Minister and founder of the police force. Hotel Rooms: 37

Receptionist is the only saving feature here-nothing is too much trouble Downstairs areas bar and TV room very soiled chairs and carpets-this does not get any better in the bedrooms which are generous size although again very dated and worn out. Hotel nearly full the evening I stayed here, so they get plenty of road warriors and NEC event attendees though the doors- just generally a bit dindgy! STAFF are Fantastic but it needs plenty of TLC and cash spent

Good standard of cleanliness. Room and bathroom facilities were good. Nice fluffy towels. Lady at reception when we checked in was friendly and helpful. Errors on booking in- they hadn't realised we had booked breakfast and hadn't given us the twin room we asked for. Worn tread on the stair carpet leading to our rooms was offputting and didn't create a very good first impression. No heating on in our room when we arrived. The woman serving us at breakfast had an unfortunate manner ( seemed standoffish and unwelcoming).

The surroundings are beautiful. Breakfast very good. Room was very large. Hotel provided wireless internet which didn't work which was unforgiveable considering I paid 136 per night for 2 nights. I explained this to the person who checked me in/out but there was no offer of any refund. In general, the hotel seemed to lack the attention to detail that is required when charging such high prices. For example, the bathroom sink was quite blocked and there were a few cobwebs on the beams. Such a shame - it could have been a much better experience given only a little more effort on their part.

Staff where friendly and the service was excellent. I'm not sure the prices charged reflect the hotel standard. a price nearer £50 would be fair when compared to other hotels I have stayed in in the area.

Good sized room. Reasonably comfortable beds. Room cleaner was anxious to ensure that I had everything I needed. A wedding rather dominated things - we had to push through guests to get to our room. Check-in staff were very inflexible about times.

Loved the location and only 5 mins from Drayton Manor, the staff where very good and food good also. Rooms comfy and spacious. Quiet location. Staff seemed over stretched and having to do a number of jobs, felt the hotel was in a transition from being an independent hotel into a chain, slowly. Some carpets and fittings seem new but the rooms were very dated and bathrooms almost like an oap institution.

A very family friendly hotel ideal for visiting Thomas Land and Drayton Manor (the purpose of our stay). I thought it was excellent value for money, the food in the restaurant was very good, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend it.

the grounds I think I picked a bad night to stay, as there were xmas parties going on, which I wasn't made aware of when I booked. Had I known that I would have to dine in the library, I may have chosen somewhere else to stay

The hotel was reasonably priced and the staff very helpful and attentive at all times. Room quality was also good. Quality of evening meal was poor and did not represent particularly good value for money. Quality has dropped significantly since our last visit. Head of restaurant was patronising and disinterested (not the waitresses - they were excellent) which is odd considering the number of complaints we overheard him receiving! Also prices of drinks at the bar were, in some cases, extortionate.

Quaint hotel with attractive and well kept gardens and courtyards and full of character. Small but pleasant and comfortable room, only issue was that because it was in the roof space it was not possible to stand in the shower so bath only. Also plumbing incredibly noisy.
