Lovely building Charming location Nice decor Manager tried hard
No bath Bed very hard Pillows too plump to use two but one not enough Staff could be more interested and efficient Modern cutlery looked very stylish but ergonomically unsound
Good location opposite Knole and in centre of Sevenoaks. The style and character of the building was pleasant.
While breakfast was good quality, we didn't think its price represented good value for money. The bed was a bit too hard for our liking.
Location, easy to walk into town
I was in the outbuilding and room was by the stairs. Everytime someone went up or down it sounded like a big bass drum! So loud! Really old decor, needed a spruce up. No blind on the bathroom!! OK fuzzy glass, but really did not like this on the ground floor.
location. comfortable beds, clean rooms.
bit noisy and breakfast was very disorganised.
spaciness of room
breakfast not included i
Good location Helpful and friendly staff.
Too expensive for what it is : old buildings with rooms needing new furnitures, carpets and decoration.
Close to town. Historic building in historic area. Historic fireplace in bedroom. Nice modern bathroom.
Bed not comfortable. Shower hard to get into and little pressure for washing longer hair.
Only benefit to the hotel, was its location near to the centre of Sevenoaks, free parking and wifi.
Stayed in the coach house which was a separate building to the main hotel. This was very dated and not in great decorative order. Bathroom was dirty with hairs in the sink, dirty marks on the walls and a leaky bath tap. To make things worse you could here every thing from the room upstairs. Certainly not worth the £105 I paid very poor indeed.
location as only hotel in central sevenoaks
Single Room very poor, poorly equipped, noise from road, tired decor, power shower didnt work properly, had to put kettle on floor to boil it as no suitable plug, TV controller didn't work etc etc. Ridiculously over-priced!
Busy road is very noisy especially needing to have windows open in the summer. Unable to access wifi
Walking distance to town and sights Plenty off road parking
The restaurant looked nice. The breakfast was included and tasted good.
My son (13) and I had one of the suites. The room was big enough in size, but it was in bad shape. The king size bed was really hard. There were no bed table or bed lamps. There were only half of the lamps working in the room and bathroom. The bathtub was not clean!!! Really terrible! Would not recommend this to anybody for the price of approx. 135 pound for that room.
staff very nice and helpful
room incredibly small and poorly furbished, the shower falled down on my head as soon as I turned it on! I found the window open and could not close it. The whole building needs restoration. The fire alarm rang twice during the night, apparently for somebody smoking in their room... couldn't sleep well
Dated room shower had no power
There was a party till midnight and we couldn't sleep. Strange smell in our room we change to another room but then we had the next morning no hot water. We left after 1 night instead to stay one night longer.
The main hotel was fine
I stayed out the back of the main hotel and thought the room was in need of renevation also uncomfortable bed
The character of the building and the location - so close to Knowle Park and useful to have the main line station in walking distance - plus good choice of restaurants available in Sevenoaks itself.
The cuttlery! It was very stylish to look at but the long round handles made it off balance and the forks were extrememely difficult to use! WiFi connection was important for us but it was very patchy to no signal available in the rooms. Age of building made rooms quaint and characterful, but low ceilings and small windows in top floor rooms made ventilation difficult.
The shower was not working! reported to the front desk, but they didn't get it repaired.
This is a fine building agreeably located. Food was good, both breakfast and dinner, service was very satisfactory. First impression was pleasing. car parking good
Bedroom was in a poor condition, dirty and badly in need of refurbishment. A bedside light was not working, was reported but not fixed. Room lighting was inadequate, the whole was scruffy, leaving a disappointing impression
The hotel was located centrally to the town and restaurants were all within walking distance.
We were not allocated the 4 post room that I booked and were given no explanation as to why this was changed. The bed had a ridiculously hard mattress and was extremely uncomfortable, there were no lamps in the room other than the overhead spotlights and apart from shower gel and shampoo there were no tissues or spare toilet roll in the bathroom.
The breakfast which was delicious and served by an extremely friendly waitress.
No-one to greet us on arrival and when the receptionist returned from her cigarette break, her first words were '115 pounds' - i.e. no greeting, not even a hello before asking for payment - truly the worst reception we have ever had at a hotel.
Good location,friendly helpful staff
The hot breakfast was not good enough, the room was tiny
Location, decor in refurbished part of hotel was good, dinner was good value and well cooked.
Expensive rooms, noisy road outside, staff indifferent and seemed uninterested in customers.
Room we were eventually given was spacious and the bed comfortable. Much nicer than the twin room we were given to get ready in.
We phoned to request an early check in as we were going to a wedding and were told we could check in at 12, however when we arrived we were told that we couldn't check in until 2 pm and the room was not ready. We were given another room to get ready in however it meant a mad rush to finish getting ready and pack everything back up before we left for the wedding.
