The Hotel is of a good standard.
The Hotel is of a good standard. Our room was not large but comfortable with King size bed and TV offering BBC iPlayer or Netflix which is good for wet days. The bathroom was modern, and the towels are changed daily.
We had to book in our car on the screen in reception and to indicate how many nights we were staying to avoid a parking penalty. This is indicated at the entrance. Parking then was free and plentiful, which is a bonus these days, with many hotels being unable to offer this. The hotel is in a quiet location and many interesting places can be reached easily. Hever Castle or Rochester for instance. It is also very close to the M25 so it's a good stopover for travellers.
The hotel caters for weekend events, and we felt that it was a little understaffed on the Saturday night due to an event, causing a rather long wait at the bar. It did seem as if 'event' guests were being given greater priority than 'hotel' guests which should be addressed. If you book with an evening meal you are asked to work to a cost of £25 and pay a supplement if you go over which seems a little unusual. This is not indicated when you book.
I thought that it would probably be nicer to present a special 2 or 3 course evening menu to all guests, with any supplements indicated which is standard in many places. The restaurant is situated in a charming medieval house adjoining the more modern part of the hotel and is reached through the bar.
Breakfast was pretty much what one would expect in a modern hotel these days, offering continental and cooked food buffet. Although juice was available, we did not see cold water, which is sometimes preferred by guests.
If the restaurant is not busy, waiter service is offered for breakfast.
All in all, we had a pleasant weekend and would probably return if we need to stay in that area again.

Wonderful area for National Trust properties to view.
Wonderful area for National Trust properties to view. The best one being Igtham Mote nearby.
We had drinks and dinner most nights at Donnington Manor. Excellent service and cuisine. Also a lovely outside terrace to have tea or drinks in the sun! Highly recommended.

Sevenoaks is a nice small town, there are plenty of places to eat, nice pubs, restaurants and some smaller boutique type shops, as well as grocery stores. Traffic can be busy but everywhere is easily accessible. There is a really nice country park, Knole park which has two herds of deer, a country house that you can visit and a great place to walk.
Heathrow airport, the motorway and many other towns are easily accessible by car from Sevenoaks and there is a regular train service into London.

Much more attractive and interesting.
Much more attractive and interesting. Very good choice of places to eat. We ate at Giacomo's. Really good food and service. Don't be put off by the £££ sign. Excellent value for money and prices comparable with local pubs!!
The owners were very friendly and welcomed us warmly. Both our bedroom and en-suite bathroom were unexpectedly palatial and very clean and comfortable. The bed was advertised as an extra large double and it was substantial with a quality firm mattress that provided comfort to my partner who suffers with some back pain. Our vegetarian breakfasts were nicely prepared.
The location was quiet and ideal for visiting a number of National Trust properties in the Sevenoaks and surrounding areas.
Staff were absolutely fantastic from start to finish. I was exhausted when I arrived (it was late and a long journey), I was warmly welcomed. The staff were not aware but, I was staying at the hotel as I had a funeral to attend the next day.
The next morning, I had the most amazing breakfast, the best I have ever had so, much compliments to the chef. The lady serving was wonderful and very kind.
Check out was easy with again a lovely member of staff on reception.
The rooms were extremely clean and the bathrooms were spotless. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. We had a key to come and go which was nice since we had a few late nights. We were attending a wedding in the area, but a few of us have been traveling for months so the owners allowed us to use an iron and ironing board, which was very nice of them. The location was great about 20 min walk to high street and a pub right down the street which was lovely!
The host Ildi was extremely friendly and hospitable. The room was lovely, comfortable and relaxing. There were plenty of choices of Tea/Coffee/Milk and Filtered Water. In the Bathroom, interesting Toiletries and Creams to use. The Flat is a little Oasis, hidden away in the middle of Sevenoaks, giving easy access to Shops, Parks, Bus/Train Station and offering a wonderful retreat to return to at the end of the day. I will defiantly be returning
Breakfast was excellent and made with love. We were very impressed by this lovely house. This is definitely a place you should have been to.
London is easy to reach by train without a stopover, there is plenty of parking at the station for the car (affordable at 8 GBP) but also Sevenoaks offers very nice restaurants and corners for shopping. Who wants to see London, can do it easily from this beautiful place.
Room was spacious and comfortable. Room and hotel were well maintained. Onsite parking. Onsite restaurant. 24 hour desk, Everything worked. Room was warm and bed was comfortable. We both slept well. Shower was a good size and easy to use. Staff were helpful, professional and courteous. The room was very competitively priced. The restaurant had gluten free options. We would stay at Donnington Manor Hotel again.
We were made to feel very welcome by our friendly hosts, and it was very homely accommodation. The breakfast was fresh and tasty, especially the sausage! The location was in a pleasant residential area, nice and quiet, with access to various sources of food for our evening meals. We would certainly visit again, to continue our visits to Kent's numerous country houses.
Oak End Lodge is AMAZING. So cozy, warm and exceptionally clean. Everything you need. The hosts are lovely and very welcoming and live next door. Location is perfect to walk into Sevenoaks or the local walks. Would loved to have stayed longer and apologies for not saying goodbye, we left early to catch the Eurostar. Hope to be back soon. Merry Christmas
Hotel quality but home feel.
Warm, spacious, all the accessories and utilities you'd want or need.
Lovely area and hosts were exceptional in making us feel welcome and letting us know everything we needed about the place and the local area.
Can't recommend enough
Friendly helpful staff and easy check in with 24hr reception. Quiet room/location. Comfy bed and good night sleep. Breakfast ok. Hotel very clean and good tea/coffee facilities in room.
