Everything-location,owner,room,food absolutely everything about this hotel is excellent.
Comfy bed. Availibility of evening meal option. Friendly, helpful staff. Felt very at home; it was warm and comfortable and I had everything I needed. Would certainly be happy to book there the next time I am in Taunton.
Nothing springs to mind.
Traditional property nicely appointed with fixtures and furnishings to compliment this. Extremely clean. Comfortable room. Made to feel very welcome and the location is within walking distance of the town. Good choice at breakfast. Evening meals available upon request. Black out curtains in room. Desk. Socket near to bed. Hairdryer available and mirrors well located in room.
Bath towel rather than a bath sheet (just my personal preference). Price per night was a tad expensive (in my opinion) for one person occupancy.
There is a pleasant sense of being welcomed into a family home, without it ever intruding into too much chat or preventing one from being completely independent. The rooms are attractive and scrupulously clean, the breakfast excellent, the service efficient, and the whole place is friendly but without clutter: everything is fresh and pleasant. Each room has a tray with tea and hot chocolate etc. The wifi works perfectly and immediately: something absolutely crucial for me as I need to be in touch with my work, and answer emails promptly. It is an ideal place for an overnight stay, but people also evidently find it a good place for a holiday, as it is right in the centre of Taunton, and well placed for travel to Exmoor and all the enchanting villages...at breakfast one hears conversations in various languages, visitors all evidently relaxed and enjoying their stay. I like the fact that in addition to everything else, fresh towels and soap and shampoo and a TV and so on, there is a Bible in a drawer... a friendly touch that gives a family feel to the house.
I always find my room rather warm, but the windows all open wide, and I invariably sleep very well indeed.
I love staying at Brookfield House. It is super-clean, bright and friendly. I like the fact that there is a Gideon's Bible in each room, giving a feeling of welcome. I love the efficient wifi. I love the friendly welcome and the excellent breakfasts.
My room was rather warm, but I opened the window wide and turned off the heating , and all was well. In too many hotels you can't open the window and the room is like an oven: Brookfield is different.
It was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent.
The hotel was immaculately clean from the front gate to the bathroom. The proprietor was friendly and helpful; and breakfast was excellent.
The gentleman who owns the premises was lovely and very helpful. The facilities were incredibly clean, and they provided all the little extras you needed for a night or two's stay. One of the best value placed I could find in the area. The décor of the place was very aesthetically pleasing. The breakfast they provided was comprehensive, delicious and filling. They really tried to foresee everything that you could want. I highly recommend Brookfield House to anyone exploring Taunton or even driving through for the evening.
General efficiency was impressive.. We were dealt with in a businesslike way but that did not prevent us from feeling that we mattered. Brookfield House was very helpful in giving us parking space both before and after our official times of stay because we were going to and fro from the town centre to attend concerts
Room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. And the breakfast was the best full English I can remember having. Owners were also very friendly and polite.
Shower was a little cramped but that's only a minor minus.
Very friendly. Excellent breakfast. Well organised... and with a nice restaurant just around the corner. Very happy.
It was all excellent
Neat and well-decorated. Spotlessly clean. Good breakfast. Well placed for walking into town.
It was the smallest "large bed room" we have stayed in. The en-suite was tiny - only 800mm wide by 2.5m long. No lounge so could only sit in the bedroom. Very warm room so had to open the window at night - lots of road noise at night made sleep difficult.
Kind recommandation for dinner Clean and like at home
Frienly welcome, lovely bright room. Cooked breakfast the best we've had for a long time. Piping hot!
Road noise buta least it stopped before too late.
Evening meal option
Very good breakfast. Quiet room at the rear of the house (but any rooms on the front must have traffic noise).
£72 per night for single room and breakfast. It's too much to pay for a good but unexceptional guest house which is quite a walk from the centre of the town.
Super fast wifi! Superb breakfast, lots of choice Lovely location, perfect for the town centre Lovely comfortable bed, with high quality toiletries
Beautiful house maintained to a high standard of cleanliness. Rooms quiet and beds comfortable. Food on offer (breakfast and evening meals)was excellent Fittings in rooms and en-suite were also to a high standard with fresh towels every day and extras provided exceeded expectations.
Staff were attentive and personable. Towels were beautifully soft.
Some noises woke me during the night.
comfortable bed and room, great bathroom and shower facilities. Friendly and attentive owners who were able to help with recommending taxi bookings and provided a large cooked breakfast with the room rates.
The guest house was very comfortable
a little noisy, I could hear the traffic during the night
Breakfast was really good. Location walkable from centre and across the road from tesco.
Staff a little unfriendly. No option for late arrival as at other B&Bs e.g key box outside.
The breakfast was delicious and the room was spotless. The staff was friendly.
Make sure you contact the owners before you arrive to make sure they are there especially if you arrive before check-in and need a place to store your luggage.
Location, Breakfast, Friendly staff
Tiny Bathroom, very limited parking space, a bit pricey.
Very clean room with comfortable bed, modern bathroom with very good quality of free complimentary toiletries. Friendly owner couple! A few mins walk from Tesco and 10 mins from the centre.
Not really...although it maybe a bit expensive, it was worth staying.
