The award-winning Netherstowe House Hotel is situated in the city of Lichfield, with its magnificent three-spired cathedral dating back to the 12th century.
Score from 89 reviews Fabulous
A pretty location and a handsome building. Staff were a little timid and apparently nervous but obviously keen to help. Properly made bed with sheets rather than duvet.
The lack of a shower in my bathroom (bathtub only). The place needed a lick of paint and felt a bit unloved. Probably not seen at its best mid-week when it was very empty. I suspect the place is really about the weekend wedding trade. A bit unnerved by a hacking cough emerging from the kitchen during breakfast.
Nice staff; nice room; if a little tired looking; but I will stay again
The hotel is in a beautiful old building, full of character
Rooms need refurbishing - our room had green bathroom suite with large corner bath but only a hand held shower head on the bath. Looks like not been changed since 1970s/80s
Good food Good parking Good location
Dated decor Bad wifi Bad blazers
location was good good portion sized breakfast staff very friendly and helpful
Sadly there were cobwebs on the wall/ceiling, the wifi was not working although the router and extender were under the bed,
Building could be fabulous, beautiful old house and grounds
Everything looks tired and cluttered
The breakfast was lovely and the staff attentive.
The decor and fittings were a bit tired and the lack of shower was disappointing. A lot too much old carpet round the room and very heavy furniture. Pity no free Wi-Fi.
the food was fabulous but its a hotel you would either love or hate!! We loved it
Great cooked breakfast
Spa bath took ages to fill (40 minutes)
Helpful friendly owners
Nice old building,breakfast excellent,staff excellent
Rooms need some money spending on them and bathroom in poor condition in our room
Anyone looking for somewhere to stay highly recommend the brook house. Food cooked excellently to order and very fresh. We need to keep places of this quality glassware & tableware fab. Staff very friendly & service could not fault it. Will be going back again very soon
Food excellent Friendly staff Excellent for visiting area
Bedroom needed to be refurbished
That home from home comfort
The lack of shower in the en-suite.
Nice location, friendly staff. Good food
Tired rooms in need of redecoration and refurb...dirty track marks on carpets...
Very handy location for a wedding in the area. Easy to find and get to.
Needed to be agile to use tea making facility as equipment in bottom of wardrobe and sockets behind furniture. Landlord not aware of 'Gluten Free' -which was highlighted at booking stage. Not a big problem food wise but these days anyone in hospitality should be aware of such things.
Very quaint rooms and an excellent restaurant. The proprietors were very welcoming and accommodating.
A child high-chair would be welcome.
Comfortable room, excellent breakfast.
Food remarkable and well priced, service and welcome good
Bedrooms shabby, sowerh not working bed past it's prime
The room was probably one of the best we have stayed in particularly the huge window giving great lake view and room service really good.
The dinner in the restaurant was disappointing and supplement on steak on top of cost of meals was poor.
friendly staff excellent service lovely location olde worlde décor and silver service at dinner food pretty good too
Old school charm and character. Staff. Excellent Restaurant. Location. Furnishings.
Food a little expensive, but it was good. Some updating probably needed, but not critical at the room price.
Friendly, family run hotel. Quaint, old fashioned style. Plenty of parking. Quiet, pretty location. Good breakfast.
Rooms getting a little shabby. Need some investment without losing the charm. No wifi was available in the coach house annexe which meant a very unhappy husband.
The Brookhouse hotel is a country hotel, it has it's quirks but them most listed buildings do.Where it fulfills the brief is with the welcome and the hospitality and food.
