The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. We were not given the room we booked and were not told that we couldn't have it, despite calling the hotel in the morning. We only booked this hotel because we wanted the four poster room so we were disappointed. The staff member who spoke to us also tried to charge us the price of the four poster room (we stayed in a twin room), which we felt was very unfair. So - staff were neither very conscientious, honest nor helpful but the room was comfortable.

The room is very small but very clean. The breakfast time only 1 hr, if you like to sleep longer then you got nothing, and no English breakfast only simple one.

Very friendly welcome, nice and clean room. To much noise in the very early morning and late night about other guest coming or leaving. English breakfast to pay extra was too expensive for a very poor and cold dish.

The cleanliness of the rooms. Wifi and Freeview tv. It appeared "normal" to be given a different, smaller room than what was actually booked.

Booked the room July 28th. Received a text message on day of arrival that we couldn't stay at the guest house and they had booked us at another guest house - operated by the same manager, which turned out to be dirty with a strong smell of mold. No privacy when travelling with a collegue as the toilet was in a cabinet and the same for the shower!

well I don't really know because when I got there I couldn't get a hold of anyone to get in. Finally a lady showed up and informed me that I was staying at another guesthouse. That was okay but it was quite a distance from the venue I was attending. It was okay though, just a little disappointing to waste my time walking back and forth rather than exploring Cambridge.

Nice comfy bed, original decor. Personal service..it's a small place and because of that the staff seem quite happy to accommodate you...E.G. Lending an iron and actually ironing my dress. Shower pressure very poor and shower head fixed very low. Room pretty but small and crowded with furniture. Fine for a short stay, could be annoying for longer stays. Landlady nice enough, but a bit brusque in manner. She warms on you...

location room and the bathroom were clean, 1.payment for booking was not taken straightaway when a reservation was made a few months before 2.there was a lack of welcoming atmosphere upon arrival, a staff member was rude to me in explaining that we were unable to use our room at 10 am as it was not clean yet 3.it was confirmed to me online that I will be able to book in between 8am and 10 am. In fact, rooms were not ready even after 10 am. 4.the room and the bathroom were very small. I stayed in a double room which in fact would be suitable for just one person 5.full English breakfast was not included in the price . It is very unusual to be asked to pay extra for it. There should be a better choice and access to continental breakfast options.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. There was a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Overall, a very pleasant weekend and we look forward to returning in the future. We did find the bed too noisey for romance but this did not affect our comfort during our stay.

The beds were comfortable, the staff was helpful but did not get too personal with you (poking noses into your stuff, they were just there to help when needed). You can come and go as you please - unlocking the door either by key or by pass code. Internet speed was awesome, rooms were cute. You could eat enough at breakfast. Really quiet. The location is by my standards a bit too much out of town for the price they were charging. The breakfast was not getting any different day by day - so don't stay for longer then 3-4 days because of this.

Nothing really although the proprietor was pleasant. Although the facilities were clean and presentable the room was very cramped and thet attresses were lumpy. My husband could not entertain the idea of a shower as there was no elbow room. He also had to come out of the toilet to pull his trousers up and he is not larger then average! The bed side lamp did not work. I guess it was a 'fair' price for a stay in Cambridge but another time we would stay further out for a more comfortable stay. Cambridge was very busy for graduation so there was very little choice although I booked 3 months in advance.

The room was comfortable and the location was ideal for our needs at the weekend - a few minutes walk from the college where my partner's son graduated and a good bus route to central Cambridge. The main road location (I had a front room) made sleep difficult - the road was busy throughout the night and early hours. Also, the bath was an awkward shape and rather small - I am 6'4" tall and my partenr is 5'10" and we both had problems. The hot water system could not cope with demand in the mornings.

Guest house very quiet, breakfast ok We rent 3 bedrooms with "baldaquin". We are still looking for the baldaquin!! The beds were ok but the soap for the bath were scarse and one room should be advertising as a room for dwarf people (no more than 1.5 meter high!!

Very comfortable bed, nice clean room, and the location is great as it's quite close to the station. The continental breakfast was very good value - plenty of tea, toast, cereal etc. The room was also nice and quiet which was surprising as it's on a main road and not to far from the city centre (about a mile and a half). I was pleased I chose this hotel and would stay there again. There was no one on site when I arrived; it was quite simple to call the phone number and be told the entry code for the door, but if I hadn't had a mobile phone then I don't know what I'd have done; so for anyone considering staying here, just make sure you charge up your phone before you leave home!

The owner was very helpful in lending me her laptop when I couldn't get my WiFi to work in Brooklands. The room was very elegant. Unfortunately, we had to skip breakfast because we had to leave early to catch the 6:55 am bus to London so can't comment about the breakfast. Brooklands is on a busy street, but one can get by with ear plugs for the night. Also, it's a bit of a walk into the centre, but the railway station and coach stop are reasonably close.

“We only stayed for 1 night as we had tickets to see a show but the room was excellent & breakfast was lovely. Would definitely recommend this to anybody looking to take a trip to Cambridge as its a short walk into the centre & parking is free too unlike other places actually in the centre. Would stay here again!!” Shelley, Luton |
