The purpose of the visit was to see the renovated dock area and the location of the hotel was ideal
Excellent value for money
Loved compact clever design within space. Loved view from caravan we were in. Unique experience all pros of being in a caravan with convenience and benefits of being in a city.
Would have loved a 50s interior to the caravan which would have been more fitting and added to the appeal. There was no mirror apart from in the bathroom. One on back of bathroom door would have been perfect.
Friendly staff, ease of booking in, pleasant room. Well decorated.
Seagulls at 4.00am!! Nothing else.
Staff welcoming and friendly. Rooms clean and good decor. Location is great 5min walk from bars, restaurants and shopping. Great place to see the city!
Friendly, efficient staff Great location Spacious, clean room
Plague of seagulls for rooftop residents Loud bin removals the day I was there Some of the stair carpet was falling off
everything. very pleasant and comfortable place to stay. convenient location
be aware that you have to physically lock the bedroom both when you enter the room and also when you leave.
very central, very friendly check in, comfy bed
room was quite small, very basic amenities e.g. no water, thimble like glasses, warm tap water only, carpet was a piece of hessian that was water stained and didn't fot the floor properly, and it was VERY noisy in room 2 on the ground floor. Also breakfast not included came as a surprise, though I did book it quite hurriedly
We stayed overnight, we had a normal room for the olds and we (2A, 1C) stayed in a caravan. The room was lovely we were told and the van was brilliant. I want one! Staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back!
You wouldn't want 2 bigger kids and 2 adults in a van due to the room but they are brilliant!! Seagulls need shooting but that's all.
Relaxing area to read sunday papers with a glass of wine or 2 Could not get a better location Parking literally down the steps
Very Loud even for a sunday - Club going till 2am Drunks in street screaming until 4-5am Roadworks started at 6.30am! None of which is Brooks's fault
We stayed in a rooftop rocket for a night. It was a Friday and it was noisy until midnight or so but it all somehow added to the sense of occasion. It's great
No phone in rocket to contact reception.
The hospitality was lovely, as soon as you entered you felt welcome and at ease.
Brooks was wonderful. Charming little market area is right outside the door. Guesthouse has wonderful patio area to relax outside. I was traveling with my 2 adult daughters and it's hard to find comfortable rooms for 3 people. Brooks had a 3-bed room that was large enough for all of us. The bathroom was huge and clean. The 3rd bed was a pull-out which I slept on. Typically that means trouble but this pull-out was as good as any bed. I slept wonderfully. They do a beautiful breakfast in morning if you want. And Agnes at the front desk was adorable, helpful and a pleasure to work with. Would recommend to anyone.
There is a lift for the 1 and 2 floor but for the 3rd floor you have to walk your bags up a flight. not a big deal. Just should be aware. Area was pretty noisy at night but still not a big deal.
It's quite good location and convenient to anywhere.
There is a little bit noise in the morning, though we forgot to close the window.
I loved the decorand the ambience. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were comfortable and well equipped. Only negative was noisy seagulls and generator outside and windows had to be open as it was a veryhotnight.
Noisy seagulls and generator from early morning - windows had to stay open as it was averyhotnight
As a graduate of Bristol University I've always loved the area around St Nicholas Market and this hotel scores full marks for location. The accommodation itself is comfortable without being luxurious but for the price- excellent value for money - it really can't be faulted. I must also mention the exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Definitely one for our list of places to return to.
The only criticism was that we couldn't get the wifi to work, no great problem as 3G reception was adequate.
Room was very small and very noisy
A great alternative to more expensive hotels/b and bs in Bristol.
I liked the welcome I received on arrival, Agnes, in particular, is a welcoming host and an ambassador for the hotel. Nothing was any trouble. She was knowledgeable about the area and always had a smile.
I found my room really very hot and wished the hotel had air conditioning. Also, the seagulls were noisy. Having the windows open, because of the heat, meant the gulls were extra loud.
Caravans are amazing! Staff is friendly :)
This is a very stylish place. We had a triple room which suited our party perfectly. A bonus was the very spacious bathroom with an outside window which was much better than the average en-suite. The breakfast room/lounge is a lovely space and more akin to a top hotel. My eggs benedictine was perfect and the traditional English cooked breakfasts chosen by fellow travellers also excellent.
I stayed in the small rooftop rocket and it was compactbut perfectly formed. Perfect for one. V friendly staff, nice decor, good breAkfast and loved the market on doorstep and the original vans on roof.
Nice hotel, small but clean and comfortable rooms, friendly staff.
The location in the heart of the city's nightlife meant that on a Saturday night, it was REALLY noisy till 2am. Impossible to open a window and sleep, so a bit stuffy on a hot night too. Then we got woken up at 4am by the hen party coming in... A real shame as it's a fun, quirky place to stay. I suggested they offered complimentary earplugs on weekend nights!
Brooks is very conveniently situated for exploring central Bristol.
The beds are a bit too soft but I know you can't please everybody!
Everything about Brooks Guesthouse was great. The building and interiors are beautiful, the staff were very kind. The rooms were spotless and had so much charm, and the beds were comfortable. The location is perfect, with great cafes and bars. I will definitely be going back. Such great value for money.
