Very practical room with wonderful touches for extra comfort and pampering. A beautiful garden area with a lovely living room-come-shed that guests are free to use. Great choice and quality of breakfast. One of the friendliest and most helpful couples running the place, and very flexibile.

Some traffic noise if the window is open.

special touch.... having a pot of tea and chocolate cake served in the garden on our arrival ...wide range of breakfast options perfectly cooked...

the only downside to our stay was that we booked room 2 which has no en-suite there is however a bathroom across the landing exclusively for room 2...

Just about everything. Looked after from the minute we arrived. Recommended best restaurants and booked them for us. Superior quality mattress giving a great nights sleep. Everywhere spotlessly clean and then there's the breakfast!!! Simply the best.

You will find it difficult to find fault with this guest house. They have 5 stars and they are going to make sure they do not lose it.

Nothing was too much trouble, including catering for a restricted diet. Very friendly hosts.

Room quite small and en-suite cramped, but nothing lacking.

Richard and Julie were the perfect hosts and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was exceptional and worth the 5 star rating. Stayed in the delux room which was more like a luxury apartment than a room in a guest house. Would definately recommend.

Break is a little early for me being served between 8:30 and 9 but it sets you up for the day

Fabulous B+B...one of the best we have stayed in. We were greeted by Richard and Julie who gave us tea, cake and tips on where to eat out. Our room was lovely with every attention to detail. Scrupulously clean, comfortable bed, fluffy white towels and wonderful bathroom products. Breakfast was lovely, cooked to order appearing in no time. It was a joy to stay there and we wouldn't hesitate to visit again. Thanks Richard and Julie :)

Hosts Julie and Richard welcomed us very warmly and we're most attentive and helpful throughout our four day stay. Our suite was ideal and the quality of the breakfasts was outstanding. We were especially impressed with a number of small but significant ways in which Julie and Richard added to the enjoyment of our holiday.

    No shortcomings noticed.

Welcoming and friendly hosts, kindly suggested to book us a restaurant as we arrived late. It took us 15min to walk to the harbour from Brookside which is a lovely walk. Very comfy bed, room was very practical despite not being large. The highlight was definitely the breakfast, we were welcomed at a lovely presented table with fresh orange juice and a large choice of delicious home-cooked food. Richard was very knowledgeable about activities and food places in the area which contributed to making our stay really special. Would highly recommend it!

Nothing -however best to check if you are 6 foot or above as one of the shower is built under a sloping wall (which isn't the case for the other rooms).

Searching for a B&B on the Internet can sometimes be the same as trying to pick the winning numbers in a lottery. However on a recent short trip to visit Agatha Christie’s home at Greenway we found this absolute gem of a B&B in Brixham. Under the new ownership of Richard & Julie Cooke we (a family of 3 adults) were warmly welcomed by our hosts and shown to very elegant and well-appointed quality rooms with extremely comfortable beds guaranteeing a great night's sleep. The free Wi-Fi was a welcome addition to help with last minute holiday planning ably assisted by Richard with his local knowledge of places to visit and restaurants. The breakfast at the B&B was a delight with a broad menu on offer including local produce freshly cooked to order and served with a bit of style and panache. While we only had a two night stay the area and this B&B in particular has ensured that we will make a return visit!

Richard and Julie's passion to get everything just right - which it was. Their thoughtfulness and frequent extra touches made our stay a memorable feature of our holiday. The varied, appetising and healthy menu made breakfast an event to look forward to every day. Whilst the harbour is a 15 minute walk away, guests old enough to enjoy bus passes can benefit from the frequent buses that pass the door and good services to all of the best local attractions.

    Absolutely nothing.

Our hosts, Julie and Richard, couldn't have been more lovely and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts were delicious and our room was spotless and roomy. The en-suite bathroom had a really powerful shower and little luxuries like Pecksniffs toiletries, fluffy towels and complimentary robes. Brixham was just a 10 minute walk away, so ideal for taking a stroll down to the harbour for some food and wine. We would come again and would recommend The Brookside, to others.

We can't find fault with anything, our weekend here was beyond our expectations.
