The hotel was absolutely lovely, great location only 10min walk into chester, room was excellent and cleaned daily, staff was outstanding. We were made very welcome and don't usually use the bar when we go away but we did here every night as it was very homely and friendly.
Great hotel, warm, clean, comfortable. Staff were outstanding. Food was very high quality.
welcome, facilities, management and staff, foods, entertainment, local amenities explained, comfortable accommodation, all requirements met promptly and courteously.
unable to find any item that this could be applied to.
staff were very professional and friendly
Location Staff Beds (very comfortable) Comfortable hotel Breakfast
Dinner very mediocre Restaurant very old fashioned needs upgrading
Very pleasant efficient staff and good reasonable food. Convenient for the town by bus or on foot
Booked a small room and it was very small. However our aim was to enjoy Chester not to stay in a hotel room do wasn't a problem.
Food and location great. Staff very welcoming.
Our room had quiet a lot of road noise. Otherwise good.
Brookside is a comfortable homely hotel with friendly staff and is an easy 30 min walk from the city centre (even for me with a walking stick!). Rooms cosy but usually cramped for space but not a problem. Nice to have an adjacent car park.
WiFi is a problem if you need to rely on accessing it as my wife was having a working holiday it became a bit of an issue - it works best in the car park!
Staff excellent and friendly hotel room very clean bathroom spotless Lounge area very comfortable Breakfast acceptable standard Bar acceptable
Great for city centre 10 min walk.Room clean.Could do with a refurb.
More like a bed and breakfast than hotel.
the staff were very friendly and helpful
Everyone at the hotel where very helpful and could not do enough for you. The food was excellent. The hotel was very clean and very accommodating staff. Would definitely book again.
The staff were very friendly.Breakfast was good and good choices.Bus service and taxis very easy too get.
the bed we were in wasn't ideal and we didn't really like the room which was on top floor under eaves the couple we travelled with said their room was comfortable
Excellent wifi, comfortable room, Restaurant was also very good.
A little too far to walk to town and back for some mature travellers.
Staff were freindly and helpful hotel was relaxing and the location was great for the town centre and the races
Staff in breakfast room and bar. Parking. Wifi. Didn't try evening meal but breakfast fine.
Dowdy decor. Personal taste as we prefer modern. Sure many people like older style.
Chris greeted us when we arrived - he was warm and helpful which was a good thing because he was alongside a older man who didn't engage at all with us.... overall, very comfortable and clean hotel
location clean good breakfast free parking
Staff were very pleasant and helpful and room and hotel were good and would come again and recommend to others.
Room had no bath which was big enough for one and shower pressure wasn't very good
Friendly staff and had all the conveniences required. Nice atmosphere. Good breakfast and seemed to have a good restaurant for evening meals (we didn't actually get to try it but we did like the look of the menu). Less than 15 minutes walk to the centre of Chester.
The small double is really small. The bathroom was recently refurbished but the toilet seat was already broken. Could have been a little cleaner - especially the floor (don't think it was vacuumed the whole 10 nights we were there).
Friendly staff, excellent breakfast
In-room food poorly prepared and small portions
Very friendly and kind and the breakfast was delicious
It was nice enough, nothing special, staff were quite friendly.
Wine in the restaurant not served by the glass. If you want to buy less than a bottle you have to buy the little bottles which significantly limits the choice and quality. Bread is not provided automatically at the table and if you don't order it prior to the meal you don't get any. They say this is because they bake it to order but I'd rather have had bread when I asked for it. Both these points would mean that I wouldn't return.
Staff very attentive, breakfast excellent, good location to explore Chester from.
Car park was a bit tight
Very helpful and polite staff, excellent breakfast. Location was good, within an easy walk to the town centre.
