10 minute walk into the city
Room 26 The mattress was heavily worn and extremely soft. Needs replacing.
comfortable spacious bedroom lovely reception area, with comfortable seating, and friendly welcome
could not open bedroom window because of noise from traffic at night
the quaintness of a listed building.Had a good weekend.
could do with new mattresses
The room was very comfortable, staff were very friendly and the hotel is located only a ten minute walk from town.
Lovely hotel, staff couldn't do enough. Was visiting my granddaughter & she was invited to join me for a complimentary breakfast. Food very good. I also left a pair of jeans in room, staff went out of their way to return them to me by post (at their expense)
Friendly and attentive staff who obviously communicate well between themselves, evidenced by the handyman coming to fix an item in the bathroom which we had not reported. Breakfasts plentiful and bar not overpriced.
Nothing at all. Stay was just perfect.
Confortable beds, easy walking distance to Chester city centre, friendly helpful staff, lovely breakfast. Definitely recommend the Brookside hotel
Room was a little small for two girls and all our stuff. Was warm in the room however a fan was in the wardrobe to cool the room
All the staff made us feel very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble.
Both Breakfast and evening meals the food was really very good although all three of us felt the portions were were rather small.
The hotel provided a homely comfortable atmosphere for a small family gathering of 6. (Parents and two adult daughters and partners)
Ok for us, but stairs might be difficult for some.
Our room was a bit small, but it was for only one night, clean, the price was right breakfast was good would def stay there again lovely feeling to the whole house.
Everything was very good
staff very cheerful and helpful nothing too much trouble, food excellent, this was our third stay, will be back next year.
this year room was small and a bit cramped,
Everything. This hotel was home from home, but without the cooking cleaning and washing up.I could not have been more comfortable or cared for.
Nice ambience and relaxed.
The pre evening meal room (bar) and other areas were all of good quality. I thought the staff in particular were very helpful and accommodating.
Location is good - parking on site (tight squeeze) but could have parked on the road outside hotel also. Staff fairly friendly. Handy to walk into City or bus stop outside - taxi ride around £4 Stayed here before - nice little lounge/bar area relaxed and charming 'Olde Worlde' style.
This was our third visit Breakfast only served until 9am (feel this is more to suit staff than guests) Maybe 9.30 would be more helpful. Should offer room only option as we ate breakfast out both mornings. Disappointed with Room No 9 extremely small (4 foot bed) not enough room for two people! Could touch the walls from the bed!! (would class the room as a single) Two adults the bed was far too small - bathroom tiny! Very small alcove to hang clothes. Definitely for a lone traveller not a couple! Didn't sleep well as everytime one of us turned over we nearly fell out of bed!! Mentioned room size to the hotel on Checkout and they said they class as a 'small double' but offered to upgrade us at our next stay!
Location 10 minutes walk from the center handy for the zoo just 10 minutes by car good breakfast staff great
Nothing enjoyed the midweek break
Staff were friendly and attentive room was adequate, very quiet at night. Breakfast good but not brilliant. Only 10 min walk from centre and good parking.
Small double does mean size of bed as well as room size
Breakfast was brilliant. Staff friendly and polite. Stayed in room 11 small and cosy but more than suitable for the weekend. Bit of a walk into centre about 20 mins taxi service easy to find hotel after night out. Great value for money more than happy with the stay clean and presentable. Would recommend highly to anyone.
Nothing to dislike!! At a push a bigger room but not really an issue
Cosy and friendly Hotel very close to the centre of town. Room spotlessly clean and in a nice quiet location which was perfect as I wanted a good nights sleep as I was running the Marathon next day. Definitely be back.
Staff very helpful
My partner is 6' 2" and found the bed too short for him, to have a comfortable night sleep
Excellent evening meal, staff very friendly, tasteful decor and a friendly cat.
We stayed in the four poster bedroom, mattress and pillows were a bit hard for us,would chose another room next time
Comfortable room, good breakfast.
A bit like a retirement home, more suited to older people. Electric sockets off for over an hour. Staff not very friendly.
Location - 10min walk to city centre Good quality breakfast Reasonable cost
Awkward staircase for getting luggage up and down
I don't know where to begin.... we had an unusual situation which left my daughter without accommodation for the first two weeks of University. Leaving home for the first time and having been let down re: temporary accommodation she was feeling somewhat at sea. I came over to sort things out for a few days but I have to return to the IOM and leave her here until her rental flat is available. The staff, Richard, Anna, Ian and Marian (and those whose names I didn't catch) have been able to accommodate my daughter until we come over and install her in her flat. That in itself is not unusual, it's a hotel I hear you say. What is remarkable is the pains they have gone through to make my daughter feel safe and welcome. They have organised their room schedule so she can be in one room for the 12 days until we come back. Making her feel at home. Everything is lovely here, the decor, the ambiance, the food in the dedicated restaurant but most especially the very, very special staff at it's heart. I would recommend this Hotel without hesitation. We were in Rooms 14 a spacious family room and Room 6 a lovely, cozy double room.
friendly staff and clean everywhere
