staff exceptionally friendly and helpfull, food brilliant ,peacefull location
very friendly couple who made one very welcome. excellent breakfast plates hot , beautiful location , very clean and tidy with lovely taste.
nothing to dislike
Personable young couple who seeking to make good experience for guests. Comfortable room and good breakfast. Good luck to them in what is essentially a top-bed B & B.
Booked when there was a restaurant and new owners not doing evening meals. Not told this by previous owners so felt cheated. One decent pub locally but need to drive there. Room expensive for what it was. Wi-fi to be better next year we were told.
Friendly and very helpful owners. Excellent food. Beautiful house and gardens. Peace and quiet. Just perfect!
We liked the peace and quiet of the location and the friendliness and warm welcome given by Georgina and Michael, the hosts. Very easy to visit all the local attractions with good country roads. Station in the village nearby where we caught the train to York for a day return costing under £10 for the two of us(with rail cards). Very easy to do, one change at Middlesborough. We loved Pickering, where we went on the North York Moors Railway from Whitby. Whitby being about 15 minutes away.
There was nothing to dislike. We will certainly go back.
The friendliness of the owners and their willingness to please. The excellent breakfast. The cleanliness including the modern decoration and lack of chintz.
We had a very warm welcome and would stay again.
We stayed in one of the suites as we thought it would be nice to have a lounge area should the weather be bad. However we had fantastic weather at the end of July and our lounge opened onto our own private patio overlooking the beautiful garden. We had a large modern bathroom with separate shower cubicle and the bedroom had good storage with a comfortable bed.Georgina and Michael were excellent hosts. The breakfasts provided plenty of choice with the option to order special items such as smoked salmon with prior notice. There were two pubs within a 15 minute walk, The Postgate and The Horseshoe Inn which both had excellent food on offer.
Location was stunning. The owners couldn't have been more friendly or helpfull. Attention to detail was of the highest standards. A beautiful setting and a very warm welcome. A must to go again. Total value for money
If your over 6.3 tall ask for room on 1st or 2nd floor. Roof is a little low on top floor. However the quirkiness of the top floor is a must to see.
We liked the house, the rooms, the warm welcome, the garden, the setting and it's proximity to so many lovely places
broom house is a lovely b+b set in a very pretty quiet location. the food was lovely and georgina and micheal made us very welcome.
Lovely location - calm setting; beautiful garden, well laid out room despite being smallish (we knew this). Loved being able to walk out straight into garden and have a cup of tea right outside our room, in private. Charming, helpful owners, delicious breakfast - all great. Couldn't have been more relaxing.
Nothing to dislike
Great reception from Georgia & Michael. Excellent breakfast. Good location.
Nearest pub was more than a 10 minute walk for us !
Everything! The owners were delightful, and so friendly. The accommodation was in the most beautiful and secluded spot imaginable, without being remote. The food and room were of the highest standard. The area was so picturesque, and within walking distance of an excellent pub, with superb food. Definitely returning!
What is there not to like?
The location and comfort of the room
Enjoyed our stay, wonderful hospitality, rooms are all lovely and tasteful, & very comfortable. Georgina and Michael go out of their way to ensure you have a perfect weekend. We walked into Egton to The Postgate for dinner and that was excellent too.
no restaurant no draught beer
Told there was a restaurant on site when booking but not told it had ceased trading.
everything wanted for nothing
I loved the steam railway which could be seen from my room. I liked the young couple who did everything to ensure a happy stay. the rooms were clean and well fitted out
This was our 3rd visit to Broom House and we were not disappointed. Michael and Georgina made us very welcome, our room was very luxurious and the breakfasts were delicious.I would not hesitate to recommend this accommodation to anyone for a special break.
The new ownership was not disappointing. Georgina did a marvellous front of house job and made every effort to get to know the visitors with excellent knowledge of the local area, where to eat and places of interest to visit.
Despite the disappointment that the new owners did not provide an evening meal we fully understood why they chose not to as the two local pubs both provided excellent bar meals and more importantly local ales!
Lovely welcome from the owners Georgina and Michael with a welcome cup if tea on the terrace. The breakfasts were excellent with plenty of choice including strawberries from the lovely garden and all beautifully presented. The room was very light airy and big as well as being very quiet with a very comfortable bed. Altogether a lovely 3 night stay in June 2014. The location is excellently located with two pubs in walking distance for supper.
The Wi-Fi was a little intermittent but I believe the owners who have recently taken over the property are in the process of addressing this. Nothing else to not like.
Our hosts were very welcoming ,nothing was too much trouble. Our room was comfortable and well appointed. The breakfasts were excellent using local produce and even strawberries from the garden and homemade smoothies.
