The location and wildlife were excellent Although the accomodation was great we were disappointed with the food. The scallops were overdone and their tuille basket was soggy. This was followed by a duck sat into a fruity sauce that filled the plate and soaked everything else but didn't taste particularly nice. My wife had a steak etc. which she said was like a 'school dinner'.

Location and the spacious quiet bedroom. Only one point - not really a complaint but the fan in the bathroom needs to be cleaned

Excellent food. Very pleased with english breakfast as not fried and very high quality food used. Service at table was superb. All staff very friendly and welcoming. Room was very pleasing. Large and all facilities needed for our weekend away - bathroom spotless. Only drawback was that our room was over restaurant and restaurant was a little noisy in the evening. This did not spoil our stay as the restaurant cleared before we went to bed.

The location of this guest house is absolutely stunning and the quality of the accommodation is very good. My only reservation is in relation to the standard of the cooking. The menu was very attractive however the quality of the cooking did not stand up to the quality of the accommodation andf promised more than it delivered..

We were given a warm welcome and shown to a very pleasent room. The room and bathroom were clean and welcoming and beds very comfortable. Dinner from the bistro was good with quick and efficient service. Breakfast offered good choices and I really liked the 'nothing fried' approach whilst providing a delicious cooked breakfast. I wasn't so keen on the coffee machine - freshly brewed would be better -and I would have preffered some better toast - by that I mean not 'sliced loaf'' but bakery thicker cut - but accept that they are just my preferences. I didn't expect to be charged for the cup of tea offered on arrival but again this is a business so not that surprising. All very 'picky' things in an overall very nice mini-break.

The position of the Guest House is excellent - very quiet with exquisite countryside all around. The staff were lovely. The bedrooms were roomy, comfortable and furnished to a high standard. The food was excellent - the three course meal (at £19.95) is good vfm for excellent dining - though for some reason they do not advertise this deal and we only found it out by overhearing them tell another guest! It doesn't say it on their website or in the room literature. At £107.50 a night for us it was quite expensive.

Nice location in lovely countryside but not too far from local village (very nice pub with good food) , well positioned for day trips out. Very relaxing break . Not a great deal of atmosphere in restaurant for evening meal but food is very good.

Beautiful room in a lovely location. Broom House is even nicer than it looks in the photographs. Simple and very stylish - very clean and well cared for. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. It is well worth taking advantage of the offer for 3-course dinner too - currently £19.95. The hotel emailed us after booking to ask if we wanted to do this. The food was imaginative and very nicely done and there was even a choice for vegetarians for both starter and main course. We wondered why the hotel uses a black grouse as a logo - but then going for a walk to nearby Egton Bridge we came across one strutting across a field. If you walk down to Egton Bridge, be sure to go over the stepping stones across the Esk (water levels permitting!).

Very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Friendy staff and excellent local information. Good food. The only Minor fault I can think of was that we were a little rushed at dinner and at breakfast with our courses.

Broom House is both a place of character and comfort - rooms furnished with quality, and consideration for extra little luxuries. All the staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful during our visit. Their contacting us before our arrival ensured that everything was just as we wished - carefully planned. Food quality and choice, both for breakfast and dinner, was excellent. We hope to return, and would recommend Broom House to our friends as a special place to stay.

The rooms were beautifully decorated and furnishings were excellent. The little extras like chocolates and biscuits made it very welcoming. The bathroom were very well appointed. Breakfast was very good with locally sourced items and home-made jams etc. We would highly recommend it and would stay again ourselves if in the area.

Our stay at Broom House was excellent. When we booked we knew nothing about the hotel or the area but I must say we were thrilled with everything. The staff were friendly, the hotel warm and homely and in a lovely setting, there was a good choice on the menu and it was cooked and presented well. We couldn't ask for anything more. We will certainly stay there again when we' re next in that area.
