Great food. Attentive and thoughtful staff.
Staff- excellent bartender! Room- four poster bed was very comfy Location Value for Money Breakfast Views Ambiance
Only stayed there one night.
Good food, nice room, friendly staff
Couldn't access WiFi in room but was available in general areas
This is the 3rd time we've stayed here, the staff are friendly and welcoming and the Scottish breakfast is a great start to the day
The room we had had a velux window and not hotels fault it was torrential rain through the night which bouncing off the window kept us awake for a bit
Great location, great character, staff very helpful
Only negative was the severe amount of black mould around the shower tray, not what you would expect in a hotel
cosy feel food staff comfy bed beautiful surroundings
Imposing place with big rooms...mostly empty and lacking decorations.
Lift worked at snails pace...lounge rooms big and empty apart from furniture. ..bedrooms same.
Everything was awesome It turned a business trip into a holiday Would always book there if in Scotland
The friendly and extremely helpful welcome at the entrance. Wooded area on the high hill, cozy bar sitting areas, toffee chocolate desert. Ghostly creaky door on the bridal suite.
Some rooms could use a more authentic rustic "castle" looking update. Four poster beds for more guest rooms would be a great addition.
VERY PEACEFUL LOCATION.THE STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL WITH LOCAL KNOWLEDGE. EXCELLENT BREAKFAST.
The building, the big rooms, great breakfast.
The leak in the bathroom.
location was fantastic. Size and comfort of the rooms was very good, staff were prompt helpful and friendly. We did not dine the night we stayed but had breakfast which was excellent in both quality and quantity. Bar staff were friendly, talkative and helpful.
Very little really. I like to work and the lack of a desk or an armchair in the room was disappointing given the size of the room and quality of the rest of the facilities.
Bedroom was ok
The whole building was in need of a face lift could be a beautiful place if it had 1
The staff were great and could not have been more helpful. Gavin I think was the main person. A very hard working man. Food great.
Could do with a refit however think this is gradually taking place. Such high potential as it's such a stunning building.
The staff!! The food!! The place!!
Its a shame its in so far north or I would stay there more often.
Wonderful setting and fantastic room - really comfortable.
Would like to see cheaper and less old fashioned dinner menu however the food was fine. Breakfast excellent.
Friendly staff, clean ideal situation with great views
Staff were very welcoming and did everything they possibly could to make our stay enjoyable. The most comfortable bed I have ever slept in other than my own. Great location, we are definitely going to stay there again but for a couple of nights next time do that we can take advantage of the local attractions.
everything was great,
we did,nt dislike anything
Reasonably priced venue with lots of history.
Radiator was jammed on in our room. Had to sleep with windows open and put up with the noise.
Bed is fantastic make me good sleep
Breakfast is very cold No access for deaf over fire alarm
As fancy as it sounds, not something that looks like a castle, you walk in and feel the magic of it. The breakfast was excellent and the bed worth of a five star hotel We got a deal in booking and a very good price, but I would go back paying the full price, great experience!
Staff, Views, breakfast, Venison dinner!
Location is a little difficult to find outside Stirling
Loved the high ceiling and tall windows in the room. And the meal we had in the restaurant that night was wonderful.
