First impression - impressive. Beautiful bath, huge comfortable bed, great sized bedroom with lots of room to move. Evening dining was pleasant, breakfast staff lovely and friendly. Had to chase up staff on arrival, not aware of booking done 6 hours prior. Service for evening dining was mediocre.

Fantastic stay, extremely friendly staff and excellent on site restaurant (which was great value for money too). Such a beautiful building steeped in history and just a short drive to the Wallace Monument & Stirling centre. Have recommended it already to a number of friends and family.

This is the third time we have stayed in this hotel and once again we loved it. The setting is picturesque, the staff go out of their way to welcome you and help you, the food is superb, and there are so many places to visit nearby and lovely hill walks too. Fabulous! We wanted to stay longer but had to check out!

The helpful friendly staff and comfortable huge bed. Beautiful building and location. Good food. Squeaky floorboards and dodgy fire doors not in keeping with building.

nice room we asked for an early breakfast (7.30am), it was too early for the staff but they told us the day before they could do it... the view from the windows was not great

we liked everything. Great value for money and the food was wonderful. Our room was lovely, with TV, tea/coffee/biscuits, fabulous bathroom. Centrally heated throughout. Staff were great and very helpful. Great location, quiet and so relaxing. When we booked, we received an email from them with a copy of the menu and asking if there was anything we wanted-what a great service, very personal. There was nothing we didn't like.

We loved how the castle was modernly decorated yet still had the feel from centurys ago, The modern décor along with the features of an old castle made it that little bit more exrodinary for us. Also the staff at the castle were more than helpful and made us feel right at home, the food was exquisite The only thing that we didn't like was how creeky the floor boards were but as its a very old castle we couldn't complain and understood why they were so creeky

Pretty much everything. We were very impressed with the value for money of the deal we got. Can't remember having towels and bed-linen (real linen!) changed daily - at any price! Nothing of great significance. My wife would have liked a more convenient mirror when using her hair tongs. I prefer hand-drawn ale to top-pressure.

bed was brilliant, great size and comfortable. great bathroom, great deep bath. food was good but maybe a little over priced. very friendly staff. good bar, with drink prices reasonable. no proper reception area, nobody to see regarding check in and out. all internal doors are out of date and out of place (look like from an old office) all the floors squeek really loud no matter where you stand on them (this is not because its an old building, its because of cowboy builders. i am a builder!) never got any sleep due to people above running a bath at 2am and then talking loudly and walking around on the squeeky floorboards. this really was a terrible noise. gardens are very drab, if above points were rectified this would be a really good place to stay.
