Very friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Large room and comfortable bed.

Frayed carpet top of stairs - could be dangerous.

Room was very small and very cold! Radio playing in the restaurant area on Saturday evening whilst we were eating and nothing playing Sunday morning whilst eating breakfast. Food was piping hot very piping hot and steak was tough, so food must have been cooked and then pinged in the microwave! Even Sunday breakfast was the same! Not impressed considering we both like our food and I am a cook!

It was a very comfortable and friendly hotel and served very good food in the restaurant. We were there with family and friends for a wedding in the local church and the hotel was in a perfect location for us. It was only when we checked in that they also specialised in wedding receptions at the hotel too. The grounds were great

very nice and pleasant place to stay ,would have liked to stay longer ,the food was very good and the room i was in was light and clean. it was nice to stay some where other then the manafactured run of the mill comercial hotel chains that have spring up in recent years

The Staff

The Bed, mattress uncomfortable

We stayed for two nights in June 2012, only booking the day before so we had a room on the third floor. Perhaps a little small but still well decorated and comfortable. The bathroom was large and included a good shower over the bath. It was a perfect place to stay for a quiet couple of days with a very nice bar and the restaurant was in a lovely room with views over the countryside. Food was extremely good. Unfortunately the weather was not too kind but we did manage a short walk around the grounds which are very well looked after. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. All in all we have no complaints and would definitely stay there again.

Location and setting

It was very expensive for bed and breakfast. The hotel was very out dated. Bed linen very old and tired . Carpet old and worn in bedroom and main reception areas. No sence of luxury. Just very tired and old fashioned in not a good way. Needs modernisation for the prices they are charging. Not much available of quality accommodation in that neck of the woods. Had bad experience staying at The Bell Inn at Norwich last time.

I stayed here on business and was pleasantly surprised with the level of service I received, the room I stayed in was large and very clean, the facilities were good and the staff were fantastic. I ate in the restaurant and also had a cooked breakfast in the morning, both meals were delicious and the bar prices are very reasonable. I would (and will) stay here again!

I would have liked a small bottle of water in the room!

The staff were welcoming and anxious to please - service is helpful and prompt. Food is wholesome and would recommend the cream tea!The grounds are super. The swimming pool is an added bonus. The weekend price was value for money.

We stayed in the second floor rooms which are a bit tired and we could pick up noise from the next room. The first floor rooms look a better bet..

The location, a beautiful, quiet spot. The staff, friendly, helpful, interesting and interested people, enjoy their job, do everything to help guest feel comfortable.

I think that there could be a package rate for longer stays, since the room does not require so much attention, clean laundry, as different guests for rthe same number of nights.There was nothing about the place I didn't like. There could be improvements, but I am sure they will be made in due course, since the owners seem to be highly motivated to run a fine establishment.

Helpful staff. Pleasant meal.

DIY breakfast (0745) prior to Saturday meal time of 0830. Room soundproofing less than perfect. Could plainly hear people next door.
