Nice large room good bed
Rubbish breakfast not many staff about
Most of the amenities were excellent, clean rooms and very helpful staff.
I think that the menu could cater more for simple tastes.,like roasts and such like.
Big room, very tastefully furnished with lots of paintings everywhere. The sculpture park was an added bonus and helped pass a couple of hours walking around it, and there was also the studio with paintings and photography to look at. Lovely full English breakfast was also included in the deal. Price was very reasonable, particularly for the standard of the hotel.
Can't think of anything I didn't like about this hotel.
The unique decoration of the rooms, public areas and grounds -staff very kind and helpful and amazing food
Can't think of anything
A very comfortable hotel with outstanding staff. Nothing was too much trouble and they were smiling and helpful at all times.
The bathroom was a bit on the small side in particular the shower.
What a pleasure staying in this Hotel with a difference from the room being spacious although very tiny bathroom. The food and service was fabulous and the gardens were a treat with the art all through the bush walk.
Food, room and decor in hotel were excellent, combined with a simply magical garden make this an outstanding place to stay
Drive up to hotel is a bit strange and entrance hall to hotel is a bit tatty - but don't be put off by this trivia.
Relaxed and friendly atmosphere with staff who were happy to help.
Loved the tapas & wine, hotel and the gardens were just enchanting. I love my art and it's a great way to introduce my 4yr old wandering around the gardens.
Extremely helpful staff. Very good evening meal.
Everything about this hotel is quite unique. We were given the warmest welcome, arriving in the dark (after work), nothing was too much trouble for the wonderful hosts and staff. One key thing which I wasn't aware of at the time of booking.....hotel guests can have unlimited access to the beautiful sculpture gardens, even while the gardens are closed to the public. I had a quick look at the gardens before setting off, but I was on a business trip, and didn't think I'd have much time to see the gardens.....and anyway - surely in the middle of the Devon countryside, one wouldn't really expect more than a handful of sculptures around a lawn? I was amazed to find a beautiful garden in a hidden valley, filled with so many artistic pieces - well I was lost for words......it really was quite remarkable, and quite the most unusual and friendly place I'd ever visited. The food was wonderful.....the welcome was wonderful - all I can say is - you really must go and try it out for yourself. I remain amazed, and can't wait to work in this area again, so that I have an excuse to go back.......it's simply unique....do give it a try.
Lovely room/breakfast/staff and the gardens and wonderful
food at dinner was terrible
Stayed two nights. Room was spacious. Lunches, dinner and breakfasts were all tasty and plentiful. Gardens were huge and contained a multitude of sculptures. We spent an afternoon wandering around and taking photos.
Room facilities and surrounds were a bit dated and maintenance could be better
Spacious room, comfortable beds. Clean and quiet.
We prayed every time we took the car out that we did not meet another car on the winding narrow steep approach road. As a result we did not want to go out in the evening as we did not want to be on the approach road in the dark. Parking was also very limited.
Wonderful location, art, peace, lovely staff and terrific cuisine.
Loved the artwork, the house, the bedroom and the food.
The parking was a bit tricky
Broomhill is a lovely hotel with a great sculpture garden and organizer of a yearly competition. The room was excellent, the staff professional and the food was very nice. It was a real surprise!
The staff were so friendly and helpful towards me and my boyfriend in helping organise taxis etc. the room was small but beautiful and the gardens and reception were clean and attractive!
Unfortunately we were unable to see much of the hotel as we went to a concert that didn't finish till late (2am) so it was literally go in sleep and leave at check out. But it was still very lovely xx
Loved the seclusion and quietness of this place. The sculpture gardens are amazing and the house is stunning with lots of wonderful artwork to admire.
We were disappointed that dinner was only served from Wednesday to Saturday nights. We thought this odd, and somewhat inconvenient particularly as we we staying in peak season. But overall a wonderful place to stay.
This was a lovely hotel with the added bonus of all the artworks around the gardens. The staff were attentive and friendly & breakfast was delicious - would definitely stay again.
I had a separate bathroom on the landing overlooking the bar - felt a little exposed at times but it was fine.
all the sculptures modern rooms good food
our room went to the back of the house - no view, but silent
I stayed in two different rooms over two nights and both were excellent, although room 6 has better views. The staff were all cheerful and helpful and interested in what we had done during the day. Both rooms were large with sitting areas and enormous beds, bathrooms were clean and newly finished to a high standard, We had dinner there both nights £25 for three courses, again the service and the food were both superb, The gardens are amazing, we walked through them 4 times and still found art works and statues that we ahd missed previously. A haven away from the hustle and bustle of a busy North Devon.
There was a mix up on the bill and I had to remind them that they had left one evenings meal off the bill approx £65 with wine. Not a complaint I just didn't like telling them to charge me more.
Lovely hotel set in beautiful grounds. Helpful pleasant staff. We ate dinner here on both evenings we stayed because the food was so good. Lovely breakfast also.
Can't think of any problems.
Great for lovers of art
