rooms needs a facelift
The manager was excellent - both in the hotel and the pub.
Bathroom a bit mouldy.
Cheap Booking, Restaurant Staff location clean enough
No one at the reception, slight lack of maintenance
Good staff but overworked.
Shower fell to bits. Dripping taps. Thank goodness the disco finished at a reasonable time! Noisy when trying to sleep!
Comfort Friendly staff Ease of access to motorway Facilities Ease of Parking
Great hotel with easy access to the M1, ideal for what I wanted
The only downfall was the roofer, who started early in the morning. but this is not going to happen very often.
Good location clean quiet at night fabulous night sleep the best I have ever had in a hotel, having the resturant next door was great good food good service and very reasonable, clean comfy rooms with super comfy beds.
At breakfast if the staff could keep the supply of clean cups and plates available that would help a great deal , they were happy to fetch more clean items but it would save guests having to ask and wait that's only a little niggle but overall a great hotel
Atmosphere and food
Room a bit tatty !
Location was perfect for HD brow course
I think all lone females should be on 1st floor not ground
Fairly good location with the added bonus of being attached to the Hungry Horse.
Staff on reception and the fact that we seemed to be roomed next door to staff who made lots and lots of noise throughout the night!!!
Staff very friendly and welcomed you. Even though they were busy. They still had a smile and were helpful. Would recommend friends to come here. Thank you all you do a fantastic job.
it was very close to where i was carrying out a training course on behalf of my work.
the bedroom was very basic and in need of complete re-decorating . The bathroom was very old and in need of replacement. The window would not close and when I called down to reception, the bar maid appeared and eventually fixed the problem.
Beds very comfortable food good and well priced
Room next door had 4 men staying in it - they remained up until 6.30am talking, laughing etc with absolutely no consideration for anybody else...we didn't get any sleep that night - if you have groups of partygoers put them all together well away from families!!!
Value and great bar and staff
Rooms were ok but due an upgrade soon
The bathroom door had a hole in it obviously made by someone kicking it and their foot went through. The toilet seat didn't fit properly. Very noisy mainly from other guests at the time. No receptionist, checked in by bar staff.
Beds extremely comfortable, bar staff friendly and helpful. Food good really enjoyed the breakfast.
Before arrival had to phone several times before I could get an answer to solve a problem. When trying to phone back a Second time I just gave up and hoped for the best. Told the receptionist about this when we arrived but was told they do get busy and have to go to other places. At the reception, on departure, was totally ignored by one of the staff when trying to ask a question.
Great hotel, plenty of car parking and warm clean rooms
All hotels are great when there are no problems. Its when there is a problem. that you can judge how good they really are. Booked a week in advance but within an hour had to cancel. I called several times but phone calls were left unanswered, this was due to understaffing at the hotel. Busy bar / restaurant area left nobody on the reception desk. Like wise emails in this case took an age which is not something that you want when you need to organise where you are going to sleep. Managed to get through on the phone. Booked another room. Despite being told by the hotel management on the day that I would not be charged, I got charged twice. I will be thinking twice before booking here again.
The proximity to the accademy where I was doing a course. Staff efficient and friendly.
No airconditioning in rooms. Opening window on ground floor was difficult but also couldn't leave it open as there was no security screen.
After reading some reviews on here I admit I was worried!! However, I needn't of been!! The staff were very friendly and helpful, my room although in need of a makeover was CLEAN and the bed was COMFY, tea and coffee making facilities, iron, ironing board, towels, soap all provided !! The ladies who cleaned my room were lovely too! For a budget 2 star hotel it was in my opinion great value for money!! The hungry horse next door was busy but not so you couldn't relax and the staff were again very helpful and friendly, the food was good too, I stayed 2 nights and would definitely stay again!!! And as for some of the reviews, some people should realise that you get what you pay for, if you want a 5 star hotel then book one!! Thank you Broughton Hotel !!
Stayed one night with 2 young children. Clean, good facilities, family-friendly, was very satisfied, excellent value. Had dinner and breakfast in hungry horse - was perfect for us, food was good value and tasty, pub food, and very family-friendly
No complaints at all
The room rate was good. The room was nice, lovely woodwork. Facilities in the room were great (ironing board, iron, hair dryer) The hungry horse pub is a great asset.
On arrival we had to wait 5-10 minutes before we were greeted at reception. The bathroom could be updated, there was bits of mould around the bath. It is very old fashioned. The bedroom could have been cleaner, there were cobwebs and spiders in the room and the window was very dirty. I think breakfast could have been included in the price
The restaurant was busy but friendly, quick service
Traveled to hotel straight from work for a early morning meeting the following day. The rooms have no soap or shower gel. I was amazed when told they didn't supply it. I was informed that there was a local supermarket around the corner!!! So to have a shower to freshen up I had to go shopping first!!! Unbelievable. I wasn't impressed.
Bed was comfortable and staff service was excellent
Picture above the bed was broken (glass in frame) was covered with a sign so assumed someone new about it. Second night was extremely noisy but to be expected given it is at the back of a pub.
Great staff, great hungry horse pub with great food. Good location. comfy bed
