Reception shuts at 11pm, I came at 12am and waited out in the cold, after banging on the window for an hour I was let in..
This is like a new hotel.
Location good for me. Clean newly decorated Very comfortable. Excellent value for money
Hungry horse food not ideal. sat nav confusion over location.
Room: Good standard of cleanliness, comfortable bed; Restaurant: food well cooked and served in good time by polite staff. This is a hotel of two halves - distinct hotel/bar/restaurant divisions. Hotel is generally good for the price paid but other BW hotels have dedicated dining rooms and Hungry Horse doesn't match up
Reception: Polite staff offered no help with bags on check-in or check-out. Room: no comfortable chair for relaxing/TV viewing. WE asked for decaf tea and coffee but only decaf coffee provided. Restaurant - Hungry Horse - poor ambience for a hotel dining room - pounding beat music and no selection of vegetables on menu Breakfast: no staff to welcome or advise, had to seek out staff to ask for drinking water; cooked breakfast - half the ingredients cold
Stayed in the best western as me and my boyfriend were going for a night out in Milton Keynes. Hotel room was lovely and clean. Big bed which was very comfy.tv jad many channels. Was able to make tea and coffee and there was biscuits etc. Breakfast was included in price which I thought was great and breakfast was lovely with a range of things to choose from. Would definitely stay again.
Very friendly staff, room was comfortable and spotless.
Hotel reception not well signposted from the car park I had a room on the ground floor - loud banging of doors last thing at night and early morning
Good comfortable bed
Staff really helpful and the room was very clean. We only stayed one night as was in mk to see family . Breakfast was included so was real value for money.
The manager was very friendly and welcoming, and made our stay even more comfortable, as when we had missed our evening dinner he arranged lovely hot chicken sandwiches for us well after the kitchen had closed. Nothing was too much trouble. Our room was spacious, well decorated & modern, very clean, and the bed was so comfortable that we had a great night's sleep. We had a room which looked out onto the hotel car park. It was very quiet. An iron and board were provided immediately on request. A full cooked breakfast was included, plus cereals, fruit, yoghurt, toast etc. The hotel is directly linked to the Hungry Horse pub which is just steps away though the corridor. Prices in the pub are very reasonable especially for families. All the staff we met were helpful and efficient. We would definitely book to stay there again. This hotel offers fantastic value for money, and outstanding service!
There was nothing we didn't like.
why it was takeing bookings when decorating is beyond me, paint everywhere
2 packs of biscuits in room unlike some places we've stopped at which have 1pack per room.
Reception not manned on arrival at 6pm so had to ring to get a member of staff but brochure in bedroom states reception manned 7am till 9pm Told wrong times for breakfast so really busy when went down at 7.30am, so I had to ask for my breakfast to go as had to catch a bus at a set time. Bed was too soft as used to a firm bed so didn't sleep too well. Room too hot & no way to adjust heating. Bathroom was shabby with mould on tiles, shower head full of limescale, plug for basin didn't fit well so water didn't stay in. Pedal bin in bathroom wouldn't open at all. We used to live near to hotel so have used the pub before but not the hotel & won't be using the hotel again.
Friendly, clean, newly decorated and value for money.
nothing to complain about.
Location and friendliness of staff and comfort
Room was big, clean, well appointed & comfortable. Staff were all happy, and the value for money was amazing. I wasn't expecting it to be that good, so top marks for everyone. I would certainly stay again, and have already recommended it to some of our friends. Thank you .
For a two star place I was just hoping for somewhere clean and comfortable and I was pleasantly surprised. Not only was it very clean and very comfortable but the shower unit was new and great and there was free wifi. The room was a comfortable size too. Yes, the bathroom design is a little tired but it provided more than I needed. Checking in and out and breakfast arrangements are very informal - the reception is not manned.
Waiting a long time for the phone to be answered to be able to check in. Waiting a long time for cooked breakfast service.
everything was clean, modern and stylish. Above all the staff were very helpful, chatty and friendly. Brilliant on everything
Food at hotel was a hungry horse and every meal was lovely.
Building work had just started so was very noisy, was not informed of this when booking!
Room was clean, comfortable and refurbished, most staff very helpful and friendly however due to the attitude of others would never stay in this hotel again.
No-one on reception, dialed number as advised by notice but absolutely no response, eventually located someone who could book us in in the public bar, hotel under refurbishment wet paint signs everywhere, incorrect advice re breakfast given, staying with elderly mother and unable to park near entrance due to skips etc. Due to confusion over breakfast was advised we had missed continental breakfast and would have to pay if we wanted cooked breakfast (breakfast was included in price of room but I had to produce my booking receipt before I was believed by the manager) Staying 2 days but questioned about still being in room on first day, on 2nd day returned to room after breakfast to find our door propped open by cleaners despite having another hour before we had to check out. Condensation in bathroom so cold water dropped from ceiling all night after showering. Bad points outweighed the good!
The food was really nice and would go there again the room 22 was lovely and clean
It's a same really they was redecorating so had to whatch every were on the way up to room carpets was full of dust from when you walk in to all the way up stairs had to be care full were I went on way through to reception. could not park as wall the work. men had blocked it of so had to walk around from front of building to the side then when got there no one was there to great us at reception a work man said we had to call bar staff to come through so there was a phone and a number on side to call then when paid for the room was quite dear as no cooked breakfast till 10 am only standard toast, cearal from 7am no offer of discount even when I said about it. had I known when booking they was redecorating I would not if booked and whow wants to eat a cooked breakfast at 10am. When checking out time when have. work at 9
In fairness I wasn't in the hotel long enough just few hours after late night birthday party it was very clean my room was clean and comfortable I would definitely stay again hopefully Xmas time and be able to give fairer comments, thank you
Breakfast should be included I just don't like haven't to pay for breakfast it's just something that irritates me
I was happy to see the notice of renovations in the room. The Hotel is good but a small facelife is a great idea.
Price Run down Location Need I go on
We chose the hotel for its availability at the last minute. They accommodated our late request of connecting rooms (though not connecting but they were next to each other). The rooms were quite spacious. The staff at the dining bar were helpful and breakfast was nice and reasonably priced. There were ample car park spaces.
We called the hotel few times for direction but no one answered our phone calls. When we finally found the place, we had to wait for a while for the staff to appear at the check-in desk. Wi-Fi reception for 'The Cloud' was pretty bad. Sometimes, we had no phone signals in the room. The bathroom & tub needs cleaning, there was fungi on the wall. The kids’ playground was out of order.
Good all round.. can't fault it.
