The lady that did the breakfasts, was the nicest most helpful member of staff, the peacocks roaming free were great to see. The location was lovely.
Nothing to not like
Really enjoyed our stay here. Great food and gorgeous grounds to relax in. Will stay again.
Good location, food excellent
Not many staff to assist you
Nothing was too much trouble. After feeling unwell at the start of dinner the staff brought the meal to our room. Very relaxed atmosphere Beautiful setting Fantastic room with four poster bed
The room and the view. Lounge areas were nice and it was very peaceful.
No glass in the bathroom to do your teeth and no shelf for toiletries had to use top of toilet not good really
Great situation. Nice and quiet. Very good food. Will definitly stay again.
The Hotel is in a beautiful location and is quiet and relaxing; the staff are very friendly and helpful and provide a great service. The Hotel has a well stocked bar and the restaurant meals are really good, the breakfast was superb, probably the best we've ever had. All in all a lovely place to stay.
Location Friendly staff Homely atmosphere
Nothing to dislike - comfortable and homely environment rather than a hotel with 'wow' factor - apart from the location which is stunning!
Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful setting. Relaxing on terrace in glorious sunshine was ideal. Evening meal was very enjoyable and sufficient vegetarian choice.
Chamber staff forgot to sort room, but this was a pure oversight and immediately rectified when reminded.
quiet location and very accomodating staff, nice family run hotel
Menu a little limited and portions enormous . breakfast provided was fairly basic and needed updating,ie cold meats and patisseries etc
Third visit to hotel and would always look for availability at Broughton Craggs before other hotels in the area. Value for money is excellent. Staff friendly and attentive. Portion size's at Dinner are enormous. Breakfast plentiful and freshly cooked to order.
Nothing not to like.
Broughton Craggs Hotel is a lovely old building in a beautiful spot set within well kept grounds. The food was excellent, the staff efficient and friendly. We would highly recommend the hotel and would not hesitate to return.
We would have preferred a kingsize bed.
Great food , huge portions excellent . Fantastic room ,lovely friendly personnel . Beautiful grounds. Very relaxing stay. Would go back anytime. Highly recommend .
We loved the setting very comfortable bed and huge excellent quality food
We didn't think the choice on the menu was great or reflected it's setting but when food arrived it was of excellent standard and huge portions
Very peaceful location with easy access to footpaths by the river for dog walking. Nice gardens with peacocks providing entertainment for the dogs. Staff very friendly and helpful.
The room was a little bit pokey and the shower room could do with a facelift (mouldy grout etc)
why did they let you book knowing they had 60 teenagers and a disco on Friday night it was not very well thought out
The ambience! Sense of old times in such a beautiful building. Breakfast was perfect, service friendly, altogether a great stay and I would go again.
The decor is old and tired - our 4-poster bed had no drapes but the old hooks were still left in the rather badly painted wood of the bed.
everything had a lovely relaxing time. the room was lovely and we had the best view ever from our window
Loved the peace and quiet. Lovely scenery. Comfy bed, good food. Staff chatty, would definitely visit again. Loved seeing the red squirrel one morning!
Really good hotel, friendly staff & food, beautiful location.
Chips with everything
Helpful staff. Nice room, and hotel grounds.
Bathroom needs refurbishing and more light, 1 low wattage bulb too dark too see properly. Restaurant was poor, most of food is pre-prepared variety. At breakfast the drinks come from vending machine.
Lovely grounds not far from The Lakes but without the price tag! We were able to take our dog at no extra cost which certainly made it very good value for us as we didn't have to pay for kennels - plus she loved all the attention!
Like others say the plumbing is noisy but it's an old building so what can you expect - you can always stay somewhere soulless with noiseless plumbing!
Lovely property, inside and out, beautiful surroundings. Decent food and good portions. Outstanding value for money overall. I would definately stay again.
the staff and other guests very pleasant and helpful, happy! loved the property and the gardens sorounding it.very clean and kept tidy.loved the peacocks.loved our room, the furniture wasn't tacky and cheap..just a shame our visit was only one night! loved the food.
Very relaxing family run hotel with lovely grounds and public rooms. Peacocks. Views. Bar prices reasonable with a good real ale. Free wifi
