Staff very friendly. Clean. Nice setting. Comfortable bed. Good basic food, although wouldn't describe it as 'first class cuisine'. Peacocks added a nice touch!

We thought it overpriced, some areas are tired and in need of an update. Bathroom shower screen is a pain, see other guests comments!

Country setting, pleasant views, relaxed atmosphere yet staff available and attentive when required. Food good value. Good variety on menu.

Shower rather difficult to get into due to awkwardly placed shower screen over bath.

Welcome very warm and friendly Breakfast was plentiful and piping hot Room was very nice, bit on the warm side for us! No complaints whole experience was great.

Hard to find fault

The most striking aspect was the fresh food well cooked and presented and served hot . The room was spacious and clean lots of towels in the bathroom . The dining area not crowded and the bar and lounge warm and welcoming . The staff were very helpful and friendlymaking our brief stay a happy experience

The upper car park was dark and unlit whilst the cars parked by the door were a little difficult to get past at times . Not the hotels fault just bad parking .

There is lots to like about this hotel.

The arrangements for dinner were a little chaotic. Better comunication by the staff would have helped. The food needed to be less clever which would have improved it. The long wait was not worth it!

A quiet hotel with friendly helpful staff. Set in a peaceful area with a lovely garden. We had a decent size room with a comfortable bed and plenty of storage.

Everything was just very nice. Pleasant welcome,simple but very good food. The 2 lounges with leather sofa's and log fires make you want to settle down and and read the newspapers. We had 4 friends for dinner on the Friday nite and all said how nice the service and food was. The 2 children who live there (David 8, Kaitlyn 10) are a delight to speak with. Room 11 has the best view over the grounds and to the river - The 4 Poster is VERY comfertable !!

Friendly welcome, helpful staff. Clean room, although a little small for the 4 poster bed! Would recommend the hotel to anyone who likes peacocks!

The peacocks yelling from 3.30am were annoying!

Nice room, good facilities, great location, fair price.

Breakfast was excellent.

The room was too small,as was the bathroom.The room was poorly maintained,eg wardrobe door hanging off,shower head loose,unable to shower properly. A piece of the guttering was missing by the window of the room,(rain water could be heard dripping when it rained).And the door was a bit difficult to lock,(lock keep needed adjusting).All of these faults could have been rectified easily by a handyman in a short period of time.( I was almost sorry I had left my tool box at home )
