We loved the location of the hotel and it is a real building of charm and character so missing in purpose built mega modern hotels. The owners are lovely and make you feel that you are visiting friends as they make time to talk and chat to you personally. The rooms are nicely decorated and very cosy and warm. Breakfast in the morning was very relaxed and I have to say one of the nicest hotel breakfasts I have had the pleasure to enjoy. The local area is nice with plenty to do. We were there for the theatre and this is an excellent location for this event. I liked the hotel very much and hope to go back again as it provided good value for money and an ambience that unfortunately cannot be bought in purpose built mega block hotels. Very well done to Fiona and Freddie. I cannot find fault with the hotel or its owners

The hotel is in a good position with plenty of pubs and restaurants nearby and it is only a 10 minute walk from princes Street. The owners of this hotel were superb. Nothing was too much trouble. They were very welcoming and helpful, giving excellent local tourist information. The room was clean and well decorated. The food was fab! We stayed for new Year and on new Years Eve they put a bottle of whiskey and a can of iron brew as a gift in our room! What a nice touch! Would definitely recommend this b&B.

The owners of this small b&b were very welcoming and informative about interesting places to visit. Excellent, quiet location for a city break with most sites within walking distance. Breakfast was very good. The room was smaller than I expected. Care was needed with sloping ceilings either side of bed. Could be a hazard for the taller guest! Nevertheless the room had all we required for a comfortable night's sleep.

The Broughton Hotel is a superb place to stay. It is great value for money and perfectly located for the city centre. I was staying with my sister in a twin room which was clean, nicely decorated and comfortable. The owners, Freddie and Fiona, are brilliant people who made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was amazing and I would definitely recommend the hotel to friends and family. When I come to Edinburgh again I will definitely try and book this hotel!!!
