- Stayed in the attic room, which was really nice and I would definitely recommend it. So, so cosy. Boyfriend is very tall, but the room was still just right, with plenty of space. The bed is huge and comfortable. The room was incredibly quiet, especially at night, even with all the windows open. The room was super clean, had everything we needed, and the skylight to the back offers amazing views and a lovely breeze. Being at the top of the house also gives an extra sense of privacy and isolation, which was very welcome.
(Ignore the one negative review, which is by someone claiming this room is too small and stuffy. If you, like this reviewer, know that you prefer a commercialised, standardised, air-conditioned, chain hotel sort of accommodation experience, then don't book an attic room in a quaint little cottage in the first place!)
- The house, garden, area in general is just so peaceful and idyllic - you are in the countryside and you wouldn't think there was a city only a few miles away. The bus to town takes 8 mins, or you can walk down the hill through the village and countryside, so it's an ideal distance from the city centre.
- Carole is so helpful and never makes you feel like anything is too much effort. There was nothing she was unable to help with, and always gave very thorough recommendations based on personal experience. She helped us with transport, directions, timings of things, etc, etc, and even lent us a few items! Breakfast is freshly made when you want it, how you want it.
