The location of hotel is very good. Staff friendly and helpful. Four poster bed room is worth the up grade.
Room needs a little repairing.
Lovely old building with massive potential to be a really special hotel, but one that needs a lot or renovating. Newly acquired by present management so unfair to judge at this stage how it might develop. Fine for a cheap one night stay over, no frills, no toiletries other than soap, basic stuff.
At the moment the building needs extensive renovation and updating. Some lovely old furniture but really badly maintained so it won't be lovely for much longer. Mattress in sore need of replacing. Bedding was perfectly clean but there were faint stains in places and there was hair on the bottom sheet, presumably from whoever made the bed.Managers were away, it seemed, so was welcomed by the barman who was I think not usually the barman.
Proximity to the town and freindliness of staff
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Hotel was in a great location.
In desperate need of modernisation. Looking very old and worn and the shower was terrible.
spacious room good wifi
a bit old
Shower wasnt very clean, it was quite moudly. Very thin walls and gaps in the walls which meant i could hear everything going on in the room next to me all night. Bed was very uncomfortable, no springs left so you were more or less sleeping on the hard base. Had to pay extra for breakfast.
Excellent accommodation - very well decorated, 4 poster bed, well appointed. Very warm welcome. Excellent location.
Very good 'Brighton-esque' location with a view of the sea and across a quiet grassy square. Friendly staff and pleasant 'feel' to the place
The rain outside!
The view towards the square and park
There was no information on when breakfast started. The radiator in my room didn't work. There was no computer for the guests
Great location. Friendly staff.
Room was a little cold. Wallpaper coming away from ceiling. Old furniture. Walls paper thin. Selection of channels limited.
Booked a single room. No fuss. No hassle. Happy days.
The wonderful location in a beautiful Regency square by the sea front. Very quiet.Lovely helpful, friendly staff.
Bedrooms do need updating, but the new owners only took it over in August and will gradually work through them.
Convenient for Brighton Centre
Major grief trying to park. Shower didn't work and no refund offered.
Lovely lady on reception. Great view. Really comfy bed. Strong Wifi.
Tired decor, in need of decoration.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.
Room was very small. Bar and restruant and bar was not as advertised.
Location was good fairly central to where we wanted to go
Room needing decor attention for 129 was a lot of money especially with no English breakfast added. Room was very dated bed seen better times think should reevaluate bedroom cost
Comfortable and friendly in an ideal location for both Brighton and Hove. Very close, also, to local shops and on the bus routes. The facilities were good and staff were welcoming and helpful.
A little bit pricey considering no cooked breakfast is included, but overall it was okay and I would stay there again.
Welcoming. friendly staff.Well appointed room and en suitewey attractive décor.
My room was in a rather cold part of the hotel.
The staff was extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful! My room was perfect for a weekend stay on my own, the bed was very comfortable and the view over Brunswick Square magnificent.
The room was on the top floor, so many stairs to climb. I didn't have a problem with it, but it might turn out as one for some.
Location Building free wi-fi Large room Four poster bed
Decor tired No drapes on four poster Extractor fan in bathroom broken Washbasin light bulb dead
Poor room - terrible bathroom Having to order continental breakfast in advance for £5 per head - didn't turn up anyway Guest lounge always had staff in it - sometimes eating It was £238 for a bed for 2 nights with no facilities
I stayed their under previous owner and found it better run. The new owner will need to settle in and hope get it right.
Pluming needs bit of TLC
Lovely period building and friendly staff.
Our room had a very small half-size bath. Breakfast started quite late and there were no cooked options.
I really liked the friendly staff. Bed was really comfy. Room was clean but needed a bit of updating. Was made very welcome.
Had slightly dripping tap and shower room door didn't close properly.
