Best Western Plus Bruntsfield Hotel69-74 Bruntsfield Place, Edinburgh, EH10 4HH (Show map)
Fabulous,
Score from 404 reviews
“ I loved it. Quiet, in front of a very green park. Excellent breakfast. Reception personnel (Amber, for example) very professional, helpful, and friendly -- had a solution for every request. Perfect location, walking distance to downtown Edinburgh, and yet out of the crowd. I will surely return on my next visit. ”

The room was spacious and clean with large floor to ceiling windows. The hotel is ideally located a short walk from the city centre but in a nice area overlooking a park. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The hotel has it's own car park. Breakfast can be ordered and is brought to your table rather than buffet. The food was excellent.

Staff were outstanding and helpful above and beyond. I requested fresh milk daily with tea facilities in the room and this was no trouble. Home made shortbread biscuits at the front desk and fruit was a nice touch. Decent size room and very comfortable beds. Parking available and wifi great.

Very clean, comfortable beds, excellent breakfast. All staff were pleasant and helpful. Weather was very warm, but heating appeared still to be on. Room was rather hot, even with the window open.

Lovely spacious room and bathroom. Excellent breakfast and friendly service. Will definitely stay here again. The only criticism would be that I found the bed and pillows too soft...but that is a personal opinion. I prefer a hard bed and pillows. Otherwise...fabulous!

Very friendly staff, comfortable room, being upgraded. Room at front of the hotel very noisy because of main road. Forgetting to take home a bottle of wine we purchased for a special occasion!

Lovely hotel. Rooms are of good size, nice long baths, beds wonderful. all staff very courteous and attentive. The breakfast is lovely - lots of choice, including fruits and nuts, the smoked salmon is divine. what I really liked is how the breakfast menu describes the nutritional content of each item - very informative. I travel to Edinburgh 4 or more times a year and after this weekends stay at Bruntsfield, I would definitely choose this hotel again rather than some of the hotels in the city centre. Nothing to dislike

Helpful and friendly staff throughout Cooked breakfast, bland sausage and fried eggs overcooked. Disappointing following an excellent snack the previous day.

The room was lovely; very comfortable and spacious. All staff were friendly and helpful. I was running a marathon and so couldn't do the breakfast justice but was pleased to find what i needed amongst the extensive selection. I would definitely come back here. That I couldn't stay a second night!

Fantastic room, good location within easy walking distance of the city centre, overlooked the park, excellent service from all the staff. Dinner menu could have been a bit more adventurous/Scottish but the food was very good even so.

The reception staff were friendly and informative. The bar and breakfast staff echoed this throughout. The room was spacious and despite being near a busy road, was very quiet and peaceful. The room facilities were excellent and the bed very comfortable and clean. Overall a good hotel in good location, not too near the busier parts of the city, but well within walking distance and good public transport links.

Excellent hotel, great location far enough away from the city centre but close enough to walk. The car park is very narrow and hard to park in. Also not a lot of spaces.

Easy to get into the city and the Castle, either a 20 minute walk or the bus stop out the front of the hotel.

Location was ideal, very central and free car parking was a real plus. Although we only had breakfast and an evening drink in the bar the area below reception was a superbly becked out bar/eatery Must have the world's slowest lift

Friendly and efficient staff Cleanliness of the rooms Affordable Improved decor Not much to dislike but lighting in the restaurant in the evening is drab. Plants in the foyer and the fireplace in the seating area at the front of the hotel could be improved.

The hotel was very accommodating and found us a family room with a separate sleeping area for our young daughter, meaning we didn't all have to go to bed at 7.30pm! Great location. I preferred being slightly out of the centre - Edinburgh to me is more about the great areas in which people live than the bagpipes / tourist tat of the Royal Mile and Princes St. Not much really. It isn't a purpose-built hotel or a luxury one, but does a pretty good job for the type of hotel it is.
