Everything about the hotel was good or excellent. Reception staff were exceptionally friendly. The room was spotlessly clean and warm with good facilities and tastefully furnished. Breakfast was also good and very well presented. We can certainly recommend the Bruntsfield Hotel to anyone wishing to visit Edinburgh. Good bus services with a stop a hundred metres away and buses can take you to the city centre in ten minutes - either the Old Town or New Town.

There are many things in which I could complimnet the hotel. The friendly staff and the breakfasts being the best two. The hotel has a lovely relaxing atmosphere about it and has a fantastic small beer garden which was a good escape from the hustle and bustle of the City!. There are two aspects on which I would like to comment upon with regards to my stay. The first being that the room to the back of the hotel above the kitchen were very noisy due to the massive extraction fan from the kitchenm which was on till 11ish at night and went back o at 6am in the morning. The other comment I have to make is that everytime someone came through the doors outside the room the room door rattled. These are not complaints because we had a wonderful stay they are comments that if noted will make other guests stay more comfortable.

The breakfast was very good. we found the room size to be generous but basic. The bathroom was poor and tatty. The restaurant in the evening was over rated and The noise from the adjoining bar whilst football was on to be irritating.the food never met the expectations set by the menu.

The staff, warm, friendly and effecient, both at reception and at the bar and restaurant, bar meal and breakfast could not fault either. Even managed to get a parking space out front. My single room looked tired, the bathroom particularily needs a refresh. The TV was poor, a 15" portable with limited channel choice, neither spoiled my one night, if I was staying longer it would have caused me to request a move, In summary I got a good deal via Booking.com for B&B in a City hotel, I told them I would be a late arrival, they welcomed me warmly on arrival,

I thought all the staff were excellent from mangers on down. Always with a smile and willing to help Breakfast was exellent - bar good with some lovely sandwiches. Room, whilst slightly small for bed, had lovely views over the Links. Location excellent - all in all, a good hotel

Although only there for one night, I had a very comfortable and pleasant stay in this hotel. My room was huge and very clean with modern decor and very comfy, very roomy bed. Would have liked an iron and board in the room, but I think they were available from reception. Lots of choice for breakfast too. The cooked breakfast could have been a wee bit warmer, but it was not too cold to eat and was tasty. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Hotel is close to the bus stops for busses into the city centre and Waverly station. Only a short ride. The transport system is so efficient and reliable too in Edinburgh. A bus (at time of writing) is £1.40 single fare or £3.50 for a day - such good value in comparison to London! Overall, very happy and will stay again. Cooked breakfast could have been a bit warmer

A little bit of luxury for a good price. Ideally located for walking to the city centre, but far enough away to be peaceful & to feel you were in a pleasant, safe area

The staff were very helpful and friendly. Beds were comfortable and the room I had was peaceful The pillows were too hard (why do so many hotels have either too soft or too hard pillows). Food at times was a bit hit and miss, I had sea bass one night, which had too many bones in it, it was badly filleted and the cabbage had that much pepper it needed a fair bit of water. The final thing the chef who was on for breakfast needs to learn to make an omelate, it was a bit well done. The other minor thing is the parking, I found not having a space a bit stressful as around the hotel it is so hard to sort out parking.

We had a double room with a lovely view of the park. The bathroom was elegant and the large bath (room for two!) and shower were a big plus! The staff were very helpful and when we asked for an ironing board & iron on our way back up to our room, it was there nearly before we were! They had a taxi waiting for us when we needed to go out and gave us useful information when we wanted to walk into town to shop. The beds were like big marshmallows to sleep on, very comfy. Lovely stay. We did eat in the restaurant and I must say that the food was delicious and the staff lovely (I asked for a specific table and it was cleared in minutes) and the whole meal was very reasonably priced, however the one downfall was the burger my other half ordered. The beef was very chewy and fatty. I had a taste knowing he is quite particular about good meat but when I tasted it, I couldn't chew it at all. Possibly a bad batch and by no means a deterant to return another weekend! (Venison sausages and baked camembert were amazing!)

We have stayed at this hotel several times before and have never been disappointed. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts cater for all tastes. It is useful to have the option of the Bisque bar and bistro downstairs. On this occasion we were given a particularly nice room at the back of the hotel, good sized and with wonderful views over the city and the Firth of Forth.

The Hotel is in a fabulous location - close to the main shopping areas and the castle, but close to Morningside as well which has lovely little shops and restaurants. We loved our little neighborhood. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We appreciated the homemade shortbread and fresh apples too. We even had a lovely view of the castle. The rooms could have been a little quieter, with the banging of doors etc. It wasn't terrible but I awake easily. Wii Fi was a problem as well. It was okay, but slow and the service was spotty.
