Location near to Menai Bridge. Easy to walk into town for a meal Interesting building
Car Parking on grass bank when main car park is full is not good
My room (4) was just wonderful, bright, clean and airy. Very tastefully decorated with lots of lovely little finishing touches. Massive television, although views from front window so amazing you won't need a TV!! Breakfast was delicious & plentiful, with everything cooked just as we asked for. "Missie" the dog even gives you an enthusiastic welcome, she is a delight. The stairs would have been a problem for my mum as she has damaged her hip, but she was allowed to use the stairlift in the Private quarters so even that problem was solved. My uncle was in room 1, which was rear facing but again a lovely room & he had a super stay. Highly recommend & will go again myself I'm certain.
My only grumble is that when I booked, I asked for the room next door to mine (3) which was front facing & newly decorated with a shower for my Mum. When we arrived, she had been put in room 2, a side/back facing with only a bath, and if I'm honest, ready for a bit of a spruce up. When I mentioned this, the room had apparently been requested by the guests due to arrive later, so there was no chance of reallocation. My mum used my shower as she can't get into a bath, but still a bit of a disappointment. My advice, BOOK A SPECIFIC ROOM, that way you will be happy.
great place to stay. Good breakfast, comfy beds and such friendly people, they make you feel so welcome and nothing too much trouble. very good location and nice walk into town for dinner.
Rooms Staff friendliness Breakfasts Proximity to restaurnts, ATM, convenience store. View from patio Gracious host
All the rooms were of a very good size and really well appointed. All my needs were met and there is plenty of good quality places to eat very nearby.
This B&B is one of the best we have been lucky enough to stay at. After one night we decided on a second night. Very comfy bed, real milk for tea in the bedroom and brilliant views from our bedroom. Yes, you do have to order breakfast the night before but is that really a problem? The quality of the breakfast is superb, baked beans are available as is wholemeal toast/bread in addition to top quality, well cooked bacon, sausage, eggs & mushrooms. People have complained about parking on grass, on a slope, however there is a grippy mesh on the grass so anyone who can control a car on an incline will not have a problem. There is a great place to eat called "Dylans" within walking distance, right next to the pier on the strait. So if you can't drive, & love the sheer excitement of deciding on your breakfast seconds before it arrives soggy & overcooked, probably not worth staying here.
Great welcome. Elegant high ceiling rooms and decor. Coffee tray with extras including fresh milk, chocolates, chocolate biscuits, Jars of coffee and hot chocolate rather than fiddly sachets and variety of teas. wonderful views of the famous bridge. Peaceful yet easy stroll to restaurants shops and bars.
Lovely house with great views. Owner very friendly and helpful.
Warm welcome, delicious breakfast, beautifully presented rooms throughout the house - fab location. What more could we want?
Really warm welcome. Clean room & nice king size bed. Delicious breakfast.
Parking area on sloping grass. General comment-wish in a double room there would be two chairs or small sofa so both can be comfortable watching TV.
A bit hard to find due to GPS error but worth the effort. Diagram on booking.com confirmation is confusing. Totally missed the sign on the front lawn while navigating the round-about. BUT worth it when we got there. 10 out of 10
Location, Spectacular view, easy walking distance of lovely restaurants and pubs. Good location for getting around the island. Beautifully furnished and presented internally .
Walking down the drive is dangerous on the loose gravel The gardens are in need of TLC
We usually avoid small, intimate accommodation and prefer larger, production line chain hotels but Menai Bridge is a small village so this wasn't an option when we decided to book an overnight stay for a trip to Anglesey. The building is stunning, immaculate and no expense has been spared to make you feel you are in a luxury, small boutique hotel. The breakfast was lovely, cooked perfectly to order and overlooking stunning grounds. However, the outstanding memory we will take away is simply the owner, Elaine who gave us the best customer experience we have ever had (and we have travelled extensively across the world). If anyone has found their true vocation then Elaine absolutely has. Her pride, dedication and love of what she does shines through in a unique & intuitive skill in understanding when her guests need personal space balanced with interaction when needing advice on local attractions, things to do etc. A new accommodation experience we approached with trepidation but can't wait to go back. An absolute end to end jewel!!
I feel awful saying anything negative about Bryn Aethwy as the only small opportunity to improve is so insignifcant but in the spirit of balanced feedback - the hairdryer cable didn't quite reach the mirror. I had my GHDs with me so not a problem but just so you're aware.
The Proprieter, The house, The room, The breakfasts, The location. Perfect. We will definitely return Elaine could not do too much for us, such a kind helpful lady. We were also fortunate to be in Anglesey during The Menai Seafood Festival. Great occasion so much to see
Great location for Menai Bridge and Beaumaris and easy to find. Ample car parking on site. Elaine was a wonderful host and made you feel at home. She was more than accommodating when we asked to check in early as we needed to get ready for a wedding. Lovely decoration and great breakfast in the morning. Would not hesitate in coming back!
Welcomed by owner, very pleasent lady, spacious well equipped rooms, lovely breakfast, good location, local pubs and restaurents within 5 minutes walk, lovely view of the Menai bridge.
breakfast was good.
Bed, very uncomfortable, no light in bathroom
Everything except it was not the easiest place to find. Recommend a map rather than sat nav.
Lovely room, nice decor with quirky personal touches, warm welcome with local information. Driveway leads uphill to a big house with a great view over the Menai Straits.
Bed springs noisy when you turn over at night. Not a dislike but note that the driveway entrance is situated adjacent to a roundabout and the signs are only fully visible approaching from the south.
Elaine was very friendly and welcoming, breakfast was excellent and hotel had lovely location overlooking the Menai straights
Location is great, with fab views across the Menai Straights.
Breakfast was only warm, shame because everything else was great...
Very welcoming, made to feel at home, decor of room very calming and had a lovely view and B & B good location for eating out and general sightseeing.
Having to decide on breakfast for following day on arrival, going through details of B & B in actual bedroom. Unfortunately no dressing table with seat by a mirror.
Set in a wonderful family home with stunning views. Spotless and beautifully furnished with Laurie Ashley decor. Breakfasts were novel and varied using first class ingredients. One of the best.
The drive is slightly awkward and steep and not well surfaced. Parking on grass with a steep slope.
The lady of the house, Elaine, was charming, efficient and a great character. She runs an excellent establishment, which we can highly recommend.
Lovely first greeting, very relaxed - but well thought-out hospitality. Everything was clean, comfortable and very interestingly decorated. Excellent power shower. Great breakfast. Lovely location. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and will be going back for a longer visit to the Menai Bridge area.
Stay was too short!
