room was great. excellent pool and gym. food was excellent.staff very friendly and helpful. great choice of breakfast and well organised.
Loved the food and excellent gym and pool.
We stayed for our wedding night, could not fault the hotel and spa apart from a few house hold issues.
Faulty plug in bath, mould in bathroom and coffee stained mugs in room.
Lovely and clean. Loved the huge bath towels, very luxurious!! Staff were very friendly and helpful. Coffee in the bar made exactly as requested. Didn't get to use gym/pool facilities so can't really comment on them but definitely going to return and will use them then.
Nothing to dislike!!
Location was excellent which afforded views across the valleys and the start of the brecon beacons. The Spa facilities were excellent and the beds were very comfortable to sleep in.
There seemed to be quite a lot of dust in the hotel bedrooms (Room 105: - on the furniture, woodwork and inside the wardrobes). Also there was a lot of dust in the ceiling extracts over the swimming pool in the Spa / Leisure Facilities. We ate at the restaurant, bar menu and were disappointed that the chips were not cooked properly (still hard in the centre). We chose to eat at the nearby Bumble Bee Pub, excellent quality and two for one deal
Room good size lovely bathroom very quiet had a good nights sleep. Staff very helpful when we asked for directions for our onward journey the receptionist printed detailed instructions for us. I would definitely go back again for a longer stay
It was very difficult to find off the motorway
The staff were very friendly and helpful
Super comfy and elegant bedrooms. Very peaceful rooms. Huge fluffy towels and windows overlooking the golf course.
There is only one entrance so all guests whether bridal party, casually dressed redidents or spa visitors in robes were at one point scooting past a bride and groom receiving their guests. Didn't like feeling like a spare part at a wedding trying to get a table or drink in the bar surrounded by wedding guests who dominated the public areas delightfil though they were. A dedicated area for residents to relax/eat/drink away ftom big parties would be good.
The dinner steak too-tough chips very dry bed not very uncomfort hardly and toiletries lighting very bad so dark had a job to see in mirrow
The views .
We had dinner twice but on each occasion the meal was not up to the usual standard.
Location and staff very polite.
Small sausages, wet scrambled eggs and luke warm coffee. Light over sink was not working.
room, comfortable bed, aircon, fridge,tv,used the spa, pool, jacuzzi, staff were lovely and helpful, would definitely stay again
only negative comment i could'nt get internet to load in my room, very intermittent.
Swimming pool and spa excellent, but men's changing room a bit cramped. Nice room with balcony. Quiet with good view. Friendly helpful staff.
Food in restaurant and at breakfast time disappointing.
Location for Blackwood, Friendly Staff
Dated Rooms - things that are broken or dont work in the room. eg toilet roll holder, tablet TV in shower.
The location and the views are magnificent
The decor is now quite tired- in need of a update. Also the food was very disappointing. Dinner was very expensive and not well cooked and breakfast was served luke warm
Rooms looking a bit tired , needs redecorating
Beautiful surroundings, comfortable room, friendly and helpful staff. Leisure facilities and golf were excellent. Very good food. Benefits outweighed the minor issues mentioned below
Absence of telephone in room (there had been some issues with the phones in some rooms). One of the desserts was supposed to be served with shortcake biscuits but I noticed branded biscuits and when I asked I was told they had run out of shortcake and they had substituted digestives.
We stayed for a wedding, which was fantastic.
Our room was very poor, we had a fridge that didn't work and had leaked (I stored baby food overnight and had to throw it away) the flooring around the sink was soaking and I had to throw towels over it. The carpets were wearing through out the hotel and there was a general feel of being unloved.
Not a lot as wot it say on the websit doesn't Mach wot you get in the room
The list got go on forever
This is definitely the place to be if you want to be relaxed in a calm and comfortable environment.
lovely room, spa excellent and nice food reasonably priced, great views
Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable beds. Nice breakfast. Lovely views.
On arrival to enter there was a number of steps to carry bags. No ramp. First impression the room seemed quite good but that soon changed. The grouting around the bath was filthy underneath the overhanging rim. I accidently knocked a ring down the back of the bedside cabinet, and was shocked to find a vast amount of dust on the carpet, wall and bed valance. Certainly not worth the cost and the four stars rating. We had reason to contact staff during the night, no reception contact was available, no telephone in the room. The next evening we moved onto a Premier Inn what a difference, the cleanliness was immaculate, very comfortable bed, very quiet room, 24 hour reception staff able to be contacted by telephone. The cost £100 pounds cheaper. moved onto a Premier Inn, what a difference in cost
