Score from 398 reviews Very good
Staff very helpful and friendly. Excellent breakfasts.
Brutal overhead shower fitting in bath not very female friendly. We don't necessarily want to climb into the bath to wash our hair. Would much prefer shower attachment on bath taps.
Location and surroundings
Cleanliness was a big let down sadly
Staff were very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Standard of food also was excellent. The ambience is really pleasant, grounds also are pleasant and well kept. Would certainly return.
We could only access Wifi in a limited range of places.
Reception staff are very welcoming: Location is lovely. Delightful idiosyncratic building. Wonderful view of the hillsides and garden from the dining room. The young staff work well toigether and certainly do their best to ensure you enjoy your stay. Breakfast is good quality and plentiful. We stayed in one of the bedrooms in the extension which really required some tlc, but contained all the essential items and was spotlessly clean; great value for what we paid. We thoroughly enjoyed it and we shall certainly return.
The bed could have been better, although the bed linen was good quality. Evening meal was expensive; starter was very good, main course disappointing.
location, the hotel and all its history and architecture. the breakfast. The staff.
the pillows!!!!. the dirty windows.
Great scenery plesent helpful staff
Location Food Peace & Quite Quality of hotel & surroundings
NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING
Ambiance and welcome by reception. Good breakfast.
Querry. Why don't hotels do the toast properly on both sides!!!!! I don't suppose I will ever know,ah well.( didn't spoil anything anyway).
The hotel is in beautiful surroundings the staff are attentive and polite. The food in the restaurant was very good. The only drawback was that the hotel looked in need of an uplift and the bathroom I had needs a full refurbishment
Nice location, clean, lovely room. Excellent breakfast
Evening meal was OK but could be better.Restaurant service slow.
Breakfast was very good, hotel situated in great position facing canal, great walks, very peaceful location, clean bedding and towels, probably give top marks if we hadn't had dogs with us
We had 2 dogs with us which the hotel had failed to notice on our booking form so we were put in a different room to the one they had booked us in which was very dated with 2 single creaky beds and a horrible damp musty smell, not very fair when all the dogs did was sleep in it and wanted to charge us £20 each for them til we argued that this was not stated when booking, why do hotels expect you to sleep in a kennel when you have a dog?
The restaurant and evening meal exceeded our expectations for a 3* Hotel, and the location is beautiful. The Hotel is in its own grounds with direct access to the Llangollen Canal and with great views on all sides.
The weather that prevented us from enjoying the many walks that can be made from the Hotel.
Area Breakfast Double bed in spite of being a single room View
Lovely setting. Nice breakfast and good service Nice walks along the canal below the Hotel. Good Value
Of the two ground floor rooms the twin needed a good bathroom scrub. No WiFi reception in the twin room the double reception room was ok. Small and old style TV in twin room.
The location and views were lovely. Staff were friendly and helpful. The evening meal and breakfast in the restaurant were very good. As the weather had turned cooler it was nice that there was heating was on in our room. The arrival and departure times were good.
The building. the gardens. the views, friendly helpful staff
We had been to a wedding in a barn & had got very cold , the public rooms in the hotel were lovely & warm, but the bedrooms freezing. the staff did try to get the heating on but to no avail. I went to bed with a woolly scarf around my neck,to be fair on the 22 Aug one expects the weather to be warmer.
Staff were excellent, as was the food served in the lounge and for breakfast. Lovely deep sofas to relax after dinner and very peaceful surroundings.
I did feel that some investment in bringing some aspects more up to date would be the icing on the cake. A shower curtain, maybe lose the translucent bathroom doors and freshen up the decor in places.
Lovely location with friendly, helpful staff. The room we stayed in would benefit from being refurbished, but it was clean and comfortable if a little tired. A very pleasant self-service breakfast. Reasonably priced.
Nothing not to like.
Fabulous views from bedroom6. Friendly staff in bar and restaurant.
Very enjoyable stay - excellent location
There was nothing to dislike
Everything - the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was great. The room had a lovely view and the bathroom was the best on our holiday yet - and the price was very good.
Just disappointed that I had to come down to the foyer to get the internet. But still stayed an extra few days because everything else was wonderful.
every thing woz good
the food woz the best
Quality of bar food not upto the restaurants standard.
