Score from 217 reviews Good
The hotel is in beautiful surroundings the staff are attentive and polite. The food in the restaurant was very good. The only drawback was that the hotel looked in need of an uplift and the bathroom I had needs a full refurbishment
Nice location, clean, lovely room. Excellent breakfast
Evening meal was OK but could be better.Restaurant service slow.
The restaurant and evening meal exceeded our expectations for a 3* Hotel, and the location is beautiful. The Hotel is in its own grounds with direct access to the Llangollen Canal and with great views on all sides.
The weather that prevented us from enjoying the many walks that can be made from the Hotel.
Area Breakfast Double bed in spite of being a single room View
The location and views were lovely. Staff were friendly and helpful. The evening meal and breakfast in the restaurant were very good. As the weather had turned cooler it was nice that there was heating was on in our room. The arrival and departure times were good.
The building. the gardens. the views, friendly helpful staff
We had been to a wedding in a barn & had got very cold , the public rooms in the hotel were lovely & warm, but the bedrooms freezing. the staff did try to get the heating on but to no avail. I went to bed with a woolly scarf around my neck,to be fair on the 22 Aug one expects the weather to be warmer.
Staff were excellent, as was the food served in the lounge and for breakfast. Lovely deep sofas to relax after dinner and very peaceful surroundings.
I did feel that some investment in bringing some aspects more up to date would be the icing on the cake. A shower curtain, maybe lose the translucent bathroom doors and freshen up the decor in places.
Lovely location with friendly, helpful staff. The room we stayed in would benefit from being refurbished, but it was clean and comfortable if a little tired. A very pleasant self-service breakfast. Reasonably priced.
Nothing not to like.
Fabulous views from bedroom6. Friendly staff in bar and restaurant.
Very enjoyable stay - excellent location
There was nothing to dislike
Everything - the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was great. The room had a lovely view and the bathroom was the best on our holiday yet - and the price was very good.
Just disappointed that I had to come down to the foyer to get the internet. But still stayed an extra few days because everything else was wonderful.
every thing woz good
the food woz the best
Quality of bar food not upto the restaurants standard.
Very friendly welcome at reception and from breakfast staff. The bedroom was spotless and very pleasant. The breakfast was good.
They seemed a bit short-staffed on the Friday evening - we had to wait a bit for a drink in the bar. But it was fine, we were in no hurry!
Tha staff are really helpful, good is very good.
Cold tea!! breakfast organization not as good as previous stays
Receptionist very helpful and pleasant. Location excellent
Not enough and experienced staff. 3 people covering reception, bar and supporting dining room
Travelling with pets was stress free, walks along the canal added bonus. The FOOD was superb, service good setting first claas.
The hotel is in a quiet location with plentiful parking, willing staff and good food. We would stay there again.Lovely views and easy access.
As we were attending Llangollen Antiques fair we would have liked a full cooked breakfast at 7. 30am. This was not available unfortunately (we were told of this beforehand)
Large free car park and nice gardens
Probably the worst breakfast service I have ever had. Room en-suite needed improvements - bath seal made with repair tape. Bar is dingey, very old fashioned, very slow service and poor beer selection - I ordered a taxi......
awesome view down the valley from bedroom window. next to Llangollen canal
Beautiful rural location close to canal and town of Llangollen. Accommodation fine in a building of character.
Total lack of management to resolve issues or manage staff. On arrival I was not greeted by receptionist. Just asked for car details and signature whilst staff amused themselves discussing a wedding. Dining room closed without warning until 8.15 due to a wedding. When telephoning about another issue I was promised a call back on 3 occasions without success. Very slapdash, uninterested staff.
