Location. Flexibility of breakfast staff to allow us to start before the official 8am breakfast start. Unable to comment on spa facilities as they were not used. Very slow service in restaurant & bar. Noise from function room into early hours disturbing sleep. 8 am breakfast was not ideal when we had an early start.

Loved the village...has nice quaint pubs with great food, friendly staff and great entertainment. Pool and surrounding facilities are a bit tired...could be doing with some upgrading and modernsation.

I liked the overall feel of the hotel and the staff were very freindly and helpfull. Our evening meal was also very good and the young girl serving made us feel very welcome. My room was very warm as even with the radiator switched off the pipe running below it was roasting so even with the window open the room did not cool down. The heating system is also very noisey sounded like someone chapping on my wall which meant i got a very early wake up call.

Extremely friendly and welcoming staff, especially Andrew. Room was very comfortable and spotless. The buffet breakfast was delicious with a varied choice for all palates and dietary requirements. Lounge area with open coal fire was very relaxing. Spa facilities were excellent with friendly helpful staff. Was not sure that the arrangement on the steam room was entirely safe as the steam was directed straight out from below one of the seats and onto the back of the legs of whoever happened to be sitting there at that moment. I use the sauna/steam room at my local gym and the steam is directed onto the wall at floor level and dispersed evenly without coming into contact with bare flesh.

Arrived early and the room was ready did not have to wait to check in, lovely big room, nice warm breakfast with good choice. Bathroom was large with just a small wall heater which did not heat the room hence the bathroom was always freezing cold, the floor was also very slippery, the bed was very uncomfortable and creaky. The bar area was very small and hard to get served as there appeared to be never anyone serving and then when staff did turned up everyone went to the bar to try to get served all at 1 time.

All the rooms weren't the same which was really good mad it more individual. The pool was a nice extra and allowed you to relax. The bar/lounge area was very nicely laid out and there were board games you could play in a group.Staff were very polite, helpful & friendly. Reception staff always willing to help. The hotel looked like it had been improved and was very nicely done. Breakfast was very good. The smoke from the fire in the bar seemed to travel through to the corridor where the rooms were located. On the Sunday morning there was a shortage of breakfast items due to the vast numbers of guests who stayed over night. The hotel should have catered for the numbers. Maybe a second serving station should be added at weekends. the rooms were quickly tidied on day two and you weren't given the option of having clean towels they were just hung back up to dry.

We have stayed here many times and have always found staff to be very pleasant and attentive.Great to see a hotel busy and enough staff to cope.Very relaxed atmosphere .Delighted to see some of the same staff when we return. You deserve to be busy. perhaps fair to say a huge variation on the standard of room you get for the same price paid.
