There could not be a more central location! It is bang in the middle of the Glasgow Centre, exactly on top of the most central subway station (which can be heard, though...), 5 mins walk from the Queen St train station, just opposite the Buchanan Galleries... and within a very much walking distance to a host of pubs and clubs! Well, the hotel has already had its five minutes some time ago... It is quite clear when you look at the outdated decor and listen to the squeeking floors... But it also creates a fairly informal atmosphere, befitting the Secession stained glass windows and other detail, so the "weathered look" is not that negative after all. The hotel was certainly very clean! |

the food was good location great and reasonably priced the decor although traditional was badly needing updated and improved. there was no seating in the room apart from a rickety old chair which left you to sit on the bed which was very noisy and uncomfortable |

This is the worst hotel I had ever left, I booked it on line and when I arrived that, I payed in cash, then this hotel charged me again and pretended I wasn't checked in, it is unreasonable and the guy's name is Angus. Please do not stay in this hotel!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Absolutely nothing, as my stay was very stressful. Everything, from the attitude of the staff at reception the day I arrived, to the condition of the rooms, as I had to switch rooms. In the first room, the sheet was slept on and the blanket stained with some sort of body fluid also very dusty. The other room was cold, found myself wearing 4 layers of clothing. The hotel is built over an underground trian line and there was this awful rumbling of trains as early as 04:22hrs. I lodged a formal written complaint of 4 pages and will be happy to copy same to you. |

I feel very comfortable in the hotel. And the facilities in the room are pretty good. The location is pretty good. It's a little bit old and there's not wireless provided in the room. |

The staff were extremely helpful and I was able to leave when luggage both on my arrival (before check in) and after I checked out. I was attending a conference in the nearby Concert Hall so the location was ideal, both from that point of view and also to go shopping. The breakfast was good: lots of variety and plenty of it. I only gave fair for my assessment of the cleanliness of the room but on reflection the room was clean, but overall the hotel seemed to me to need a bit of refurbishment. |

Breakfast substantial. Bed comfortable. Plenty of towels and complimentary shampoo and body wash. Convenient lighting. Coffee making facilities well stocked. Good wardrobe space. Warm in en suite area. Slightly darkish decor. Looked to have been a luxury hotel at one time but had slipped down the scale by modern standards. Water outlet in wash basin was almost rusty in appearance and seemed to have hair trapped. Shower - very low water pressure making it a trickle. Shower curtain pulled across entrance to shower which had to be hung inside a step to prevent water spraying out. |

It's location was ideal for me and the reason I was in Glasgow. The staff at reception are worth a special mention as well. Will use this hotel again. |

The location is ideal for city centre shopping and entertainment. Staff are friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is always great value. A couple of minor points : The noise made by the bathroom pipes when the toilet was flushed was incredibly loud. Also, the convection heater in my room didn't work. |

Very central. Excellent car parking arrangement with Buchanan Galleries. Breakfast good and staff friendly and helpful I know it is a bit shabby but the price reflects this. Also the noise from the underground trains is because of where it is and can't be helped. The only thing that I would ask is that you look at how the breakfast serving utensils are utilised i.e. not everyone wants beans on their black pudding. |

The hotel is very convenient for shopping and both bus and train stations. There are also many places to eat nearby. The whole hotel needs a revamp. I have been staying there for many years and have not seen many changes. The wallpaper in my room was falling off the wallsetc. |

It was very central for all that we wanted to do - shopping, cinema, theatre etc. We would have appreciated hot plates for our cooked breakfast in the morning!! |

My parents stayed here for their honeymoon night in 1944. It was nice to be there,Very central for theatres and shops and quaint in that it is one of Glasgow's oldest hotels. Modern ensuites, old fashioned everything else. Free wireless in the lounge downstirs. reception staff most friendl and helpful. Nice to be able to open the windows and get fresh air.Really close to Queen Street Train station, The outlook from my room ws onto dillapidated buildings in disrepair. Probably not lot that could be done about this. Maybe frost the glass? |
