Nice hotel decent food and real ale
Location, staff and value, we have stayed at the Buckatree many times and was lucky enough to get a great deal for an over night stay, we would recommend it to others, and will be going back again soon,
Breakfast want as good as usual, I always look forward, to our morning breakfast at the Buckatree, but it seemed lacking in my usual favourites and there was no vegetarian choice, but still enjoyable and the waiter did get me some croissants
From the moment we arrived at reception nothing was too much trouble for the staff, very friendly and approachable. Evening meal very good value, served nicely and very tasty. Breakfast was also good.
Shower difficult to switch on and off, condensation pickle on bathroom ceiling.
The room was cold - the central heating not functioning. Had a small electic oil heater brought to the room. This ocurred on both of my visits. Otherwise the Hotel was fine
Valu for money and comfortable
Poorly lit outside
Friendly, relaxed and one of best chicken burgers I've ever had
The room was freezing cold and room not cleaned properly. Will not be returning
The bed was comfortable and the room clean, breakfast was good with excellent service.
There were mains cables hanging down between the mattress/pillows and the headboard. The room was very cold, we were not the only guests to mention this. On arrival the hotel was not even expecting us and claimed booking.com website had not told them. The reception staff were complaining all the time about booking.com and then had to reset the password which they then repeated out loud for anyone to hear. They then claimed they were full with a wedding but had a room for people like us!!!!! (I assume she meant emergency spare room). We had a meal in the bar that evening and the staff were as much use as the reception staff, not a smile, please or thank you. We had to wait 45 minutes for it to be served and the waiter just put it on the table without a word. What has happened to customer service?
The room was so cosy and warm and loved being able to watch tv in comfort too the staff were so helpful and friendly
The wifi didn't work very well but I dealt with it
Majority of staff were friendly and welcoming, nice bar, rooms were comfortable and warm
The only blight, and it was a minor thing, but we both felt our welcome into the breakfast area was slightly frosty, the breakfast options weren't clearly explained and we felt like we were handled a little impatiently. But this was one person in an otherwise friendly and welcoming hotel
Although I only stayed for 1 night, all the facilities were more than adequate. I would have no hesitation in staying again should I be in the area.
Very little can be gleaned from my 1 night visit, but the signs to my room no 111 ,were very misleading.Apart from that ,nothing.
We will happily stay at the Hotel again. The accommodation was excellent but the evening meal was a little pricey.
From the moment we entered the hotel we felt relaxed and comfortable . We went to stay at the buckatree hotel as we were resting from travelling and we couldn't have chosen a better place. Thank you buckatree staff
Only one thing the wi fi wasn't great but it actually wasn't their fault as Shropshire has an awful reception of Internet any way
Raised alcove in bedroom made comfortable place to sit. Staff in reception friendly. Food ok for money.
Wifi wasn't working. Lots of switches in room no idea what they were for. Unremarkable breakfast. Only 2 teabags in room. Door lock failed. Staff tried in vain to sort it but was not fixed by the time we left.
Food was good
Administration was not good - they totally messed up splitting the meal/drinks across rooms as we requested - one guy ended up being charge for most things! A simple request totally failing in its objective spoilt a group outing. Don't think we'd go again. Our room was very cold when we arrived at about 4:30 and when we told reception we were told 'it doesn't come on until 5:00! God knows what happens in the dead of winter!
Not a lot re administrative procedures. The hotel position was great, the food was good and reasonable value. Would have preferred king size bed in upgraded rooms.
We asked if the bill for dinner and drinks could be split equally between several rooms this was a complete mess some of the bill was done this way but a large chunk of it was dumped to one room / friend in what appeared to be an after thought. The split that was made seemed to have no logical calculation it. This resulted in a lot of time being spent by on friend trying to sort out the calculations with the hotel and letting us know how much we owe him. We now need to post this off to him as we all live a considerable distance from each other.
Very pleasant staff,good value.
Up-grade room was said include a lake view or garden view; we had an excellent view of the car park.Added to this there was no privacy net outside the curtains despite being easily visible from the car park
We were attending a trade show in Telford and thus needed to be away early each day. Even though breakfast was not available until after I need to have left the hotel made arrangement for us to have a full breakfast before leaving.
It was very peaceful
Comfort of the hotel
Reduction of heating on Sunday evening
Bathroom needed updating
Staff excellent and very helpful nothing to much trouble for them.Peaceful and quiet like location
Very relaxing surroundings
Good size rooms and well decorated Nice location - lake view Staff were all very helpful
The only negative I have is that wifi was offered and not delivered. I was on a business trip and needed access to wifi to complete some projects whilst staying overnight. The staff were a little too laid back about the fact that they were "having problems with the internet and had been for a week".
