We have been to the Buckatree a number of times, mainly because we can bring our little dog, which is made vey welcome. We have seen the hotel through its updating and it is really very nice now. The food is excellent - almost too much. We also like the surrounding countryside and like to explore. We are nt members and there are plenty of properties to visit. A really nice place to stay,

Even though they were busy with a wedding we were still able to get dinner in the bar and the young waiter we had was very attentive even though he must have been tired. The receptionist was also helpful. Hotel was in a beautiful location in the countryside but only 5 minutes from a town where we could do supermarket and petrol. Room was tastefully furnished with a lovely outlook over the garden.

This was the second time we have stayed at the Hotel this year and found the standards of the hotel still of a very high. We couldn't fault the food or the service. Our room which we asked for looking over the lake was like being at home. The location is very quiet and we enjoyed our walk up The Wrekin. We would not hesitate to return to the hotel.

Although only a few minutes from the M54 the Hotel is in a suprisingly quiet location. The staff we met were both pleasant and efficient. The Hotel has been recently refurbished and the Family room we had was clean and comfortable. The main bar area was tastefully decorated and comfortable to relax in. All in all good value, highly recommended.

I chose the The Buckatree hotel purely on price and was very pleasantly surprised when I checked in. The Hotel has recently undergone a major refurbishment to a very high standard. All the public rooms and the bedrooms have been decorated and refurbished. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, the breakfast menu was very good and the bar meals were excellent and really good value for money. The hotel is well situated for touring around the Telford/Ironbridge area.

excellent rate - location - rooom - food but a few problems. could not find any parking space or given advice where there might be a space- no help offered with cases although two women and a young man in reception. shower faulty but told could not be looked at as it was sunday and no other room of same type available - room not cleaned or replenished on second night - newspaper ordered but not available - shower still not looked at.asked for a table near the window at breakfast but was told they were made up for dinner - a knife and fork and glass would have needed to have been removed -and we were placed right next to the breakfast bar. no offer of compensation for any of the problems we encountered. still enjoyed our stay but i feel more staff training would improve matters.

The restaurant staff were very good, friendly and efficient and the food was excellent. Given that the hotel stresses the rural and peaceful location we were disappointed with the Ladies Night with male strippers and Drag Act and disco that went on the night we stayed. Whilst realising that hotels need to make ends meet, and actually enjoying banter with the drag act earlier in the evening (who struck up a conversation from the corridor through the restaurant doors while we were eating), the main problem was that this went on until 1.00am directly below our room. The noise was loud and intrusive and neither of us could get to sleep until it had finished. Then at 1.30 either staff started rearranging the room or the dj began loading equipment, either way we got another half an hour of crashing and banging which my partner referred to as the 'Buckatree Light Railway'. The upshot was that I was really tired the next morning having not got to sleep till gone 2.30am and was not looking forward to driving all day and when I mentioned this at reception the receptionist was totally unconcerned - hence the 'fair' rating for staff. If I was to recommend this hotel to anyone I'd suggest they check what events are on during their stay and just where there room is located in relation to the 'Champagne Suite'

Well presented hotel going through a full refurb at the moment.Excellent value for money. Sadly, very short staffed, the food took an hour to arrive in the evening. The room was warm and comfortable and even had a 4-poster-bed but the shower was hopeless.
