Location, reception was friendly and helpful, clean and pleasant Staff not really aware of the task ie Friday I ordered a starter main meal and a steak, all three came at the same time, no steak knife no request do we require mustard etc. We where in the bar area.Bar staff where slow and lacked zing and a smile.Breakfast on sunday morning I had to request tea and coffee three times .Once on arrival, at the severy, and at the table.

Our room size and decor, its location and the small balcony, meals and breakfast were all excellent. Uncleaned balcony and very poor maintained wooden rail, poor supply of bathroom toiletries, not to generous supply of coffee making facilities. Only one hand towel and one bath towel supplied, our room was a triple occupied by two.

We wanted to rediscover the Iron bridge area and chose this hotel for its quiet location, but still close to all the amenities. It is an extremely good 3 star hotel and doesn't pretend to be anything else.It is clean with a quiet and picturesque location, the staff were very friendly and helpful. There are many wedding functions held here, in fact there was one the weekend we were there but to be honest it did not deter our enjoyment in any way except for the reception areas being a little noisy at times! I had originally requested a high floor in a quiet location over looking the garden or pond but sadly we didn't have any of the views I requested, but had a car park view and overlooking the open countryside. It was probably due to the fact there was a large wedding booking and I had asked for a quiet location!! After speaking to the reception that evening, they were very obliging and upgraded us to a room with a splendid view of the pond, only a shame we only had the one night remaining! The hotel coped very well and we had an extremely pleasant few days, in lovely surroundings unhurried and relaxing. We had breakfast included in our package, which was hot varied and plenty to suit everyone! We also had dinner in the hotel, once in the dining broom and once in the bar and both times the food was prepared well, a good variety to suit taste and pocket and staff well mannered and attentive. We also found it very refreshing to see in the present economy that there were several young people being trained too! I am certainly looking to return again a bit later this year as there is much to see and do in the surrounding area and would not hesitate to return to the same hotel providing the prices and service were not compromised. We didn't have much to complain about, if anything there seemed to be poor communication with staff between hand over times and much seemed to be forgotten or ignored or just left.I Am sure with the addition of extra fully trained staff at these busy periods, it would improve matters drastically.

What pleasure it was to have a balcony room over- looking the garden. The room was perfect for my wife who suffers from claustrophobia. It is not easy to find a Hotel with windows that open fully let a lone a Hotel with a balcony. You may think this balcony comment is unusual ,but it makes Buckatree hall the perfect place to stay. Thanks for a really nice stay. nothing

Friendly helpful staff. We stayed there with our two dogs and we were all made welcome. Gorgeous woodland walks right across the road. Lovely decor. Hotel felt like a small family run concern, in a good way. Would love to stay here again. Hard beds, made my bones ache! Our room was right above the function room where there was thumping music. Good for a party but not for sleeping as it went on until 1 pm. Helpful staff sorted the matter out though.

The location of the hotel was wonderful for us as we took two dogs. The vast woods across the road were fantastic for walking them off lead. The staff were exceptionally friendly, courteous and extremely helpful. It felt like a real family run hotel. Shrewsbury and Ludlow both a scenic drive away. Decor in the hotel was very tasteful. Hard beds! Food in restaurant didn't whet our appetite, so we ate from the bar menu, in the restaurant, which had more choice. There was a wedding there on our second night and our room was unfortunately right above the party which had thumping music-good for a party but not for sleeping. We were offered a change of rooms. If you want peace and quiet ask to overlook the garden or pond.

The hotel is set in beautiful countryside, close to the Wrekin. Our room was warm and overlooked the garden. The hotel offers Theme Nights, so dining times are restricted due to the number of people being catered for in a separate room.Saturday night's availability was 6.30.Breakfasts were a shambles-not enough staff for all guests.Supplies were constantly running out i.e. beans, eggs, juice and basic amenities. We had 1 shower gel in our room for 2 people for 2 nights. We did get more but had to ask.
