The young woman on Reception was very helpful and polite. The staff in the restaurant in the evening were unobtrusive and helpful. The food was excellent: expensive (as was the wine) but excellent quality. The room was disappointing in that it was about the same standard as a Travel Lodge - perfectly clean etc. but essentially a small box with no character. Certainly not four star accommodation. Your small economies are telling: only one packet of biscuits in a double room; only plastic glasses in the room. Nothing was poor enough for a complaint but it was a disappointment, sorry. |

Its locality to Exeter I thought it was expensive for what it was. Room was too stuffy. I am still trying to work out what was 'executive' about it, dread to think what the standard room was like. |

The relaxed atmosphere, the general peace and quietness of a hotel so close to the city centre. Very comfortable room (30) and beds. Excellent breakfast and service. Staff helpful, friendly and courteous. I omitted to report a leaking waste pipe beneath the wash basin in the bathroom. We experienced some difficulty with the operation of the TV (despite the instructions in the folder) and only managed to get BBC2. A misunderstanding with the operation of the shower (which looked full of promise) due to a missing tab on the unit, resulted in lukewarm baths for both of us. |

The room was pleasant and the setting of the hotel was good and not far from the City of Exeter Room was a little small and there was a wedding there that took over everything and the staff seemed more intrested in them than those that where other paying guests no room left in the bar or lounge as it was over run . The resturant menu is limits but the food was very good . |

A classical older style, wood-panelled warm, quiet, comfortable hotel set in lovely gardens, & with adequate convenient parking. The staff were very pleasant & polite. The cuisine was delicious & well-priced. Definitely worth a visit in the future. |

The food was of good quality and well presented. The garden area was very attractive and the close location to Exeter was convenient to explore the city. There was no access to Sky Sport in either the room or the bar. There was a wedding dinner taking place on the Saturday night which meant that the public area was crowded and therefore after dinner, there was no place for guets to sit. Our room overlooked a "plant room" from which there was a continual drone which could be heard throughout the night. |

It's clean, friendly and comfortable. Easy booking in and nhing is too much trouble for the staff. I have been twice before and would go back again. |

The wedding party were quite intrusive in the bar area. However the staff found a place for our family group to sit which worked very well indeed. |

Very comfortable, good food, staff most welcoming and helpful. About a mile from the city centre, but that is good as it means you can be certain of a parking space. We'll not hesitate to stay there again. |

The staff were very helpful and the room was a good size with a decent sized, clean and modern bathroom. There was a low humming in the room which was slightly annoying. The cooked breakfast was rather small for the cost. |

The meal was excellent The service was not very good - during the meal the manager had a row with one of the waitresses in the dining room, they started to clear the tables ready for breakfast at 9.00pm as we were still eating |

Both the bedroom and bathroom were extremely pleasant as were the staff and the hotel is beautiful. The room was quite warm during the night despite keeping the window open. Maybe an electric fan could be provided to alleviate this- especially on the ground floor rooms, where we stayed as leaving the window open isn't particularly a safe thing to have to do. |
