Loved the old photos and we had a Demi Moore room. Was a great cheap place to stay
good warm room comfortable bed will stay again. staff very helpfull.
Staff always very welcoming, ease of booking, have stayed here many times
Option of breakfast used to be good, lovely breakfast
Friendly staff, quirky rooms (we had the Bruce Willis room), comfy bed and a pub on site.
New Years Eve was a bit of a let down, the barman did not switch the music off for the countdown and it passed without any celebration.
Room only. Decour very tired but informed that refurbishment is in pipeline
Warm , good bed.
no longer do any food. had to eat out for breakfast.
Liked location and parking facility
Staff not very helpful StandRd below average in terms of comfort
Located fairly close to the town so easy access
the decorations inside the hotel reminded me of the 1960's, though i was only there for a bed so it didnt bother me too much. Also, towels weren't clean in the roomn so didnt take a shower which wouldve been nice.
The weirdness of it The dated decor The Creepiness of the place
The location was great for us, everything within walking distance.
The fact that the hotel did not offer food, even a continental breakfast option would have been suffice.
Nice old building. Good car park.excellent value for money.old fasioned decor but we went to buxton to visit the town not stay inside the hotel room all day. Liked the themed rooms!
The wifi was good in the room and around hotel. Staff were nice.
There was no food available due to a re fit to kitchen this was not mentioned when booking hotel. The general condition of the hotel was very shabby. The bar had limited drink selection. The shower was shocking with little to no water pressure , it was more of a drip then a shower.
The bath in room 17 was amazing and so relaxing.
Lots of character
May not be to some people's taste
size of room view from room simplicity & space in bathroom easy-going feel in general
pictures bed lights [hideous!] drunken people being noisy in night bath plug did n0t fit properly so lost water
Lovely large warm rooms.clean fresh beds.
Shower was weak.
Four-poster bed! Warm as toast.
No dining facilities.
Room good bathroom clean but small loads of hot water very comfortable and excellent location
Location. Having stayed here many times before, I like the quirky decor.
No breakfast available - no kitchen. Staff rude. I was told "If that is what you want (breakfast) then you will have to make some alternative arrangement." It would have been more helpful if they had a list of restaurants that were open for breakfast available.
Faulty towers matches this hotel , nothing good at all and well over priced i felt more dirty after staying here
Had a lovely time in one of the four poster room
We would have loved a bath
room was comfortable and clean, cheap but basic bar (says it was CAMRA -but only one real ale on), no restaurant
there is absolutely no food, not even cold breakfast -we'd read reviews and menus but there was nothing apart from the instant coffee in the room
attitude of reception men
Near to the Opera House and Gardens Very quirky hotel with past and present photo's of people in the entertainment world Rooms large and quite comfortable For the price you can't grumble if you want 5* don't come to this hotel
most of the staff were quite friendly but the man on reception was a little reserved think he needs a course in people skills apart from this our stay was very nice
