Literally just around the corner from the British Museum, this hotel is very well located. The major shopping areas of Oxford Street and Charing Cross Road, as well as the theatre district are all an easy walk. Our room (a 'luxury studio') was very large and well-appointed. It was also appreciated when half-way through our 4-day stay we were shifted to a more pleasant room (over-looking the garden) when one became available (though we did have to ask). Staff were generally helpful. This hotel has excellent weekend rates (which in our case included the Easter break) which can make it a more appealing (ie - affordable) option if your hotel requirements include such. Our initial room, though a luxury studio, was located in the basement ! (described by reception as some euphemism such as 'the lower floor'). It seemed ridiculous that a high-spec and one of the more expensive rooms had been placed there. The staff did however find us a more pleasant room later in our stay (overloooking the pleasant garden and surrounds) when one became available later in our stay.

Nice large rooms, good facilities - we decided to bring some diy breakfast thins which suited our dietary requirements and the mini kitichen suited us fine. When we arrived we were shown to a basement room with bars on the windows! Not what we had expected, however we were quickly moved and and an excellent stay in the hotel.

Enjoyed all aspects of the stay at the Buckingham, good location in London for the City and all transport routes. The kitchenette was in need of an update with more accessories

Great location. Lovely frontage. Large room with big windows. Good size bed. Small kitchenette in room. Staff on checking in were rather brusque (although the person at checkout couldn't have been more helpful). Although our room was ready, we would have to pay £45 to get in before 3pm. Breakfast £17.50 extra. Bathroom clean but rather scruffy.

A pochi passi Russell Square, Britisch Museum.

Grosses tolles Zimmer, grosses Bett, sauber.

Very helpful and friendly staff, great central but quiet location, comfortable bed, no noise from neighbour's television. Hotel has sinister contract with one expensive taxi company meaning staff were not allowed to provide me with minicab phone numbers. Price was high, but probably so are those of all good London hotels (and probably many bad ones)
