Buckingham's Hotel85 - 87 Newbold Road, Newbold, S41 7PU Chesterfield (Show map) Very good, Score from 13 reviewsThis award-winning hotel and restaurant offers free Wi-Fi, free parking and luxury rooms with private bathrooms, close to the center of Chesterfield, the eastern edge of the Peak District and highway M1. The Buckingham family are well known for their warm and friendly boutique hotel and the superb Restaurant with One Table and the Clowns Conservatory. The restaurant is unusual in that there are no menus, which means meals are prepared to your personal requirements with the emphasis on quality and freshness. At this cozy restaurant, there is no compromise on quality, ingredients or taste, and excellence comes as standard. Among its many accolades, the hotel has received an award for Best Breakfast of the Year and Best Restaurant of the Year from the Derbyshire Food and Drink Awards. In Newbold, a residential area of Chesterfield, this attractive and comfortable hotel consists of a pair of Victorian duplexes that have been sympathetically converted. Hotel Rooms: 10, Hotel Chain: Recommended Hotels.

We loved the skill, imagination and attention of Masterchef Nick Buckingham who prepared us a bespoke meal having taken the trouble to find out beforehand our likes, dislikes and preferences. The result was a heavenly dinner that delighted us and a breakfast that was simply exceptional. This is a family run hotel and it is so clear that they all love their work! Nothing is too much trouble and that's a wonderful feeling as a guest. What a place! The television in our room was on the small side, but this really was a minor criticism when you think of the huge positives associated with the high quality food, the wonderfully attentive staff and the brilliantly imaginative 'no menu' plan.

This is everything I want from a Hotel as a frequent user. They are welcoming, friendly, efficient, helpful. Mr & Mrs b and their daughter were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble & it was like we were old friends! My colleague & I stayed 3 nights & I know if either of us get the chance we'll be back. Nicks food is totally awesome too - which was a real "Brucie bonus". Cannot say enough about the place. All Hotels should be like this one.

Family hotel. Clean and well kept. Comfortable accomodation. Internet was fast and reliable. Off street parking was safe. Substantial continental breakfast was included, cooked breakfast an option. Enjoyed dinner in their gormet restuarant. Very convenient for visiting Chatsworth, and the hotel had discount tickets that we took advantage of as well as showing us the scenic shortcut to get there avoiding the busy main road.

Meeting the owners, they are lovely people. Unfortunately didnt have time to experience the main meals which sound amazing, but did have the breakfast muffin & scrambled egg on toast which were wonderful. Also sell amazing home made jams etc. Fines associated with certain things in the room ( Do agree with the £50 fine for smoking ).

The 1980s dated interior decoration On arriving we were received in a rather cold, unfriendly manner, an attitude that was maintained throughout our stay. We got the impression that the hotel was run to minimize costs, but in an ungenerous way in respect of the clients..
