Everything, the staff were very friendly and helpful
Very comfortable and welcoming staff attentive and made us feel happy and pampered which is what we hoped for on our Wedding Anniversary
Would have liked a rug in lounge so less bare in the evening.
Staff friendly, food lovely.
Rooms need updating. Location awkward to travel to
Wonderfully clean, warm and friendly hotel. Staff welcoming from the moment we set foot in the building. The room was immaculate and well thought out. The bar delightfully rustic and dining room and meal service excellent. Compliments to the chef on a delicious menu. Will definitely return.
Friendly staff One of the best cooked breakfasts I've ever tasted
No draught beer and poor selection of bottled beers
Really enjoyed the food. The location was physically beautiful. Staff were friendly and helpful. Generous sized rooms. Personal heath care products supplied in the rooms were good quality.
Room was breathless and hot. The window wasn't big enough to allow airflow. One window didn't open. A little disappointed that there was major function at the hotel the night we were there and some rooms were not available for sitting.
Friendliness. Ambience/atmosphere. Rural setting. Starters, sweets and cheeses.
Lack of edible vegetables.
Food was excellent, room had a very large bed, a large sofa, beautiful furniture and television. There was also a fabulous dressing room, which lead to the bathroom. The bathroom was large, the shower powerful. Tea, coffee, biscuits were available in the room. Staff were very friendly and could not do enough to ensure your needs were met. The wedding coordinator helped my niece to ensure her wedding went smoothly. It was amazing, the grounds spectacular, with water fountain, trees and amazing views from the windows. Will happily stay there again.
Rooms were quite hot at night, with the windows open and the fan on it was ok.
Location, ambience and staff service was very good. The Superior room had comfortable seating. The meal in the restaurant was excellent. Also, lunch on the patio was very nice.
The only problem we had was that the room on the lst floor was hot. Reception gave us a tower type fan, but it wasn't very effective.
a lovely country house hotel, with helpful staff and a good restaurant, nice lounge area
we opted for single beds, which were really narrow. Our room (Peony) was directly above the kitchen and unpleasantly warm despite a fan. On complaining we were told all the rooms were very warm even in not so warm weather (end of sep). They badly need aircon..
The evening meal in the restaurant was excellent. The location was extremely quiet and secluded.
The advertised "Classic" room was situated in the attic which was access via very steep and twisting stairs, which would be a struggle for people with mobility problems. There was no walk in shower only a hand held over bath attachment. There was no soundproofing from the neighbouring room.
It was in a beautiful setting.you were made so welcome and nothing was too much trouble.the dinner was excellent.only comment.I had said it was my husbands 75th and a nice drink would have been special.Otherwise excellent.
The food - staff - and hotel, plus the surrounding countryside made our short break a very pleasant stay.
We booked this on spec and were more than delighted with the quality of the hotel its grounds and our reception. We dined in one one of the three nights we stayed and the food was first class. Whilst not the most straight forward place to find with very narrow country lanes it was well worth it.
Our room, which was a classic room had a bath with a low level shower and we prefer a shower or shower over the bath. it appears they have very few rooms with showers which would never be a deal breaker for us but just a small negative to an otherwise perfect venue
Attentive and friendly staff Very comfortable room Excellent breakfast They even turn the fountain off over night!
Peaceful beautiful surroundings. Very relaxing.
access was difficult.
Beautiful location, atmosphere in building. Friendly staff and lovely food.
Found the narrow lane to get there very daunting, might prevent me returning. Didn't appreciate the boiler flue (boxed in) in the corner of my bedroom, it affected my quality of sleep. It was a constant hum which seemed worse in such a quiet spot.
Everything including staff, bedroom, garden, breakfast and especially the quality of dinner. We are planning a return trip before too long.
Lovely house and lovely staff. Really nice place to stay
The food was very nouvelle cuisine and frankly not much of it.
location,comfort, size of room, food
a little hard to find
It is a beautiful house in lovely grounds and the staff are very friendly. The room was large with a nice size bathroom with all the facilities we expected
Our bedroom was above the kitchen with the extractor fan starting very early morning plus van deliveries and staff smoking below our window so unfortunately not the best of sleep when looking for a lie in. However was a late booking so may explain the lack of choice for bedroom.
Friendly staff, easy atmosphere, fine dining and beautiful location
The drive along the country lane to get there
It was my birthday and we were upgraded to the Bridal Suite.
