On site parking, Beatrix Potters property & a gorgeous pub in close proximity. Homely feel to the place. Lovely bedroom view across to the fields & cows. Friendly, helpful staff. Open fire in the communal area. A nice distance from the next biggest village, Hawkshead. A public walking trail through beautiful countryside very close. Gateway to the best of what the Lake District has to offer.
Older style room - we still really liked it, but may not be up to others expectations.
The attention to detail makes all the difference. Homemade biscuits with the tea and coffee in the room, wineglasses in the lounge if you feel like a glass of wine in the comfy lounge which always has a log fire lit The breakfasts are great and the hosts friendly and very helpful. It is no wonder they are always booked up.
We liked everything about it.
The guesthouse was beautiful and the owners more than kind and helpful. The food was amazing and the bedroom very comfortable. Really enjoyed my stay.
Nothing to complain about at all.
Location next to Beatrix Potter's house. Room with lovely view and extremely comfortable bed. Magnificent breakfast, charming hosts. Lovely sitting room with open fire
The wood fires both morning and evening
Everything. Friendly staff, great food and a comfy bed.
No where to buy essentials within a mile.
From the moment we arrived it was so welcoming. Robert and Helen really look after you from start to finish. One of the best that we have stayed in. If you want a really traditional b&b book up and stay at the buckle yeat you will not be disappointed we will definitely be going again
Roaring real fire and tea and cake when I arrived.Beautiful flowers in the garden and a lovely cosy room.Robert and Helen very friendly and made me feel welcome.Breakfast both mornings were delicious.Location perfect to climb mountains and a good pub on the doorstep to eat in without having to drive.
Personal touches, very informative, greeted by open fire every night, amazing breakfast
I enjoyed every part of my stay, from a warm welcome, comfy room, and more than generous amazing breakfast.I wished I could of stayed longer, and I would definately recommend it.
We has asked the B&B to make us up a packed lunch on two days as we were walking in the hills and what they provided was excellent value for money and very tasty. B&B very clean, staff friendly and great quiet sleep at night. Just what you need when you are cold, muddy and wet after walking or biking for 8 hours around the Lake District each day.
Idyllic setting, wonderful b&b, warm, friendly hosts and best breakfast ever. Can't wait to go again.
Having to leave!!
I have made a career out of the hotel industry and have operated several 5 star properties in Asia. I can honestly say the whole experience of staying in this cottage which is all but next door to Beatrix Potters house has been majestic for my whole family. The host's Roger and his wife are wonderfully welcoming while they maintain this cottage in every respect to what one would expect of a 5 star rated hotel. An excellent breakfast and a perfect start to exploring the many aspects of the surrounding area. For those who are aware of Beatrix Potter and her children's stories, do stay at Buckle Yeat as the place and surroundings bring those stories to life.
There is nothing we did not like about Buckle Yeat .
First class breakfast with plenty of choice nothing was too much trouble Bed linen was pristine white. room was spotless cannot wait to go again very friendly couple

Quiet room and very nice breakfast.
Internet should be available anywhere in the room, not just at the window. If you advertise wifi it is thought it is throughout.
The quiet and very attractive location, it was central to the area that I wanted to visit, it had off road parking and the owners were welcoming, helpful and very friendly.
Problems with the wifi internet connections and often only available in the room where the computer was droing out in other public areas.
Very comfortable, clean friendly accomodation. Breakfast very good.

We loved the location as we wanted to visit Beatrix Potters farmhouse in particular. Great pub for dinner 2 minutes walk, Hawkeshead village minutes away by car. Quiet, picturesque, beautiful walks or drives. Breakfast and service wonderful. Hosts welcoming, even afternoon tea the day we arrived. Free parking. Lovely warm comfortable lounge room.

All of it was FAB
Our hosts Robert and Helen were very welcoming even making us afternoon tea the day we arrived. The lounge room was always warm & comfy with the fire lit each day. Breakfast was great. Very friendly atmosphere all round. Great spot for Hill Top farm. Stunning scenery all round.
Room was very small, hard to fit cases (international travellers). Wifi not available in bedroom or lounge room.
A warm and comfortable atmosphere in a traditional farmhouse cottage, great breakfast, superb pub next door, very friendly hosts - near-on perfection
