Location was excellent. Clean. You get what you pay for.
Dangerous electrics in the bathroom. Mattress needs replacing. A tiny bit of effort could really improve the place: decor, signage and staff training/presence/attitude.
tiny little dirty hole, that's all it is
-dirty -loud -close to rail ways -tv didn't work properly -toilet was disgusting -too expensive for that room and service
Staff - Owner was insistent on having a clean room Access - room was easily accessible during the early hours Owner - fully understanding when my mate lost the key Store room - adds a different touch
Location just a few blocks from Kings Cross train station. I got ground floor room as requested (am a senior with heavy suitcase)
On the inside the place was a lot rougher than it looks from the outside. There is not a real registration desk, it is a ground floor bedroom with a window onto the hall. It has bunk beds and a microwave next to the small area where the clerk registers people. Next, all the bathrooms are shared. The bathroom on my floor was busy most of the time I wanted to use it (but there were no other guests on my floor), so I had to climb stairs to another bathroom even late at night. My ceiling was high and the light fixture (the only one in the room) had 2 small fluorescent bulbs, one of which was broken, and they did not fix it despite a prompt request over a two night stay. (I made the mistake of paying for the room without inspecting it.) So I could not read. Then I tried the tv, which did not work til the desk clerk came in and adjusted something. Next day, I could not get it to work again. I was solo and there were twin beds; the second mattress was sunken in a U shape. Mine was OK. Decor was shabby. I was on the ground floor and there was a stoop outside my window at the back of the hotel; I did not know where it connected to so I kept my curtains shut. The next day, no one made my bed or replaced towels or cleaned, but the curtains were opened and the window was entirely opened when I came in that evening! Fortunately nothing was stolen. The bathroom was adequately clean with adequate shower pressure when I got in to use it but it has a sort of desperate look and has a view of the same depressing stoop my room had. Trouble is for about $100, this is not a good value and is not what I usually see at other budget hotels in similar price range.
Most thing was good when we consider about money.
Shower room and toilet was only on ground floor, so it was uncomfortable. It located next to train rail, so train made me awake.
I didn't expect a lot form this hotel. The price was good, besides I liked the location, close to the tube and to the main sights of London. Thought it was a little bit noisy because of the train station and the traffic, I liked the bed which was quite comfortable and there was everything you need for the short stay. The receptionist was very friendly and ready to help. Thank you!
I wouldn't recomend this place to middle aged people and families with children, in my opinion this hotel is just not the right place for them to spend holidays there.
Location was ok near King's Cross. Bedlinen (clean, but still with stains...) and towel included. WiFi. Rather kind elderly man in reception at times.
Only one bathroom (and very rundown at that) for several rooms. A cupboard with only two hangers and one shelf (for three people). No hooks for bags or coats. No lamps by the beds. Rather unpleasant blankets (with cigatetteburns amongst other things) on the beds instead of duvets.
Location, price, wi-fi, staff
Close to St. Pancras.
I will never return. One of the worst places I have ever stayed at. No cleaning during our four days stay. Underground tracks with trains every few minutes just outside the window. Thin walls, lousy doors and windows, creaky floors. The building and the entire neighborhood should be demolished and redeveloped!
This hostel was a complete hovel, luckily I read some reviews before I arrived as ended up cancelling my stay. Apalling conditions, staff seemed incompetent and was sleeping in the office, unclean and terrible noise pollution. I would agree with previous people that you would be better off sleeping on a park bench.
Left luggage allowed.
Room not cleaned upon arrival with unchanged bedsheets and pillowcase. The bunk bed was shaky and unstable. Shared bathroom looks dirty.
Everything was very bad. The place needs for a complete renovation. The room was very very small, bad smell, noisy and I will defintely not recommend anyone to book the guest house. I cannot understand why this guest house was included in booking.com. This is the worst that I have ever come across. Its like a place which has been deserted for a long time. You should take this out of booking.com.
Friendly Staff. Room comfortable enough Cheap room, so you get what you pay for i suppose in such a good central London location.
Shower was a bit poor
Hated it as soon as I walked in.
Didn't like anything.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful however the heat in the building was unbearable with heavy blankets on the beds that looked like they dated back from the 1960's, the shower and bathroom was filthy, the stairs were wonky but on the plus the wifi was super fast and good :)
Leaving, and loooooved the interesting decor.
The broken bed. The box tv, that didn't work. The brick hiding the hole in the floor. The scum-crusted, freezing shower. The hole in the bathroom wall. Trains running every 2 minutes outside our window.
For a given price this hotel has very good localization. Facilities and comfort were very modest, but acceptable for tramping. A very good alternative to firm in hostel, you've got separate rooms.
Close to Kings Cross and Paneras internation train stations.
Dirty and trashy interior. Was afraid to use the shower stall in the common bath. At 1:00 AM someone started beating on the outside door and there was no staff in the building to deal with it. One of the other guests finally got out to talk with the idiot beating on the door. Would never stay there again.
Staff were nice good central location other then that a total rip off !!!
Biggest rip off I have ever experienced. If they charged what the room was worth which should be no more then 25 pounds it would be acceptable but to charge 59 pounds for a shared bathroom , mattress that digs into your spine is sheer extortion!! And when I asked if there were bed bugs the guy at least was honest and said they had had complaints about rooms downstairs but the rooms upstairs should be ok!!! It was the cheapest in the area but seriously even if they are taking advantage of peak season demand they need to lift their game get better mattresses and change the carpets which look like they are 30 years old and paint and fix the cracks on the walls! If they charged also less then I would say it was an ok stay but definitely not for more then one night location is great though. Staff were very nice but rooms are really not worth what they are charging. I really felt ripped off that's for sure no breakfast included either!
cheap and close
disorganization--asked for taxi and night clerk called his non meterd friend --no body who worked there knew where anything was other than kings cross station
It was close to the train stations and tube station.Various fast food places to eat.Cheap place to stay the night
The bathroom was shared and shower didnt look appealing. There was a kettle in the room which didnt even work.Noisey outside. You could hear the trains going past.Couldnt get wifi to work.Floorboards uneven.Reception was just 1 of the bedrooms with a desk inside!
No noise isolation, broken window, far from any metro station
