The staff were in general very helpful. When I explained that I had had a bad nights sleep due to the very hard mattress they immediately changed the mattress for a memory foam which was fine. The food was good as was the service.

Initially the very hard mattress and pillows. Being unable to get a sandwich after 2.30 which meant having to go out.

Wonderful view from our seaview room. Good breakfast and high standards.

Some noise from next room but we did have a locked connecting door so maybe that was the cause.

We had an upgrade which provided a comfortable suite with a fantastic view of the Menai straits and the Snowdonian range. We had a dog with us and we were allowed in public rooms. The hotel has a 'beat' of its own, almost a step back it time, and the hotel staff were most helpful. Excellent cooked breakfasts.

The bath hot water tap leaked very hot water, beware when taking a shower. I thought the evening meals were pricey but the quality average.

Good location, clean refurbished room, like the buffet breakfast.

Location Sea view Food: breakfast and bistro dinner Friendly, efficient staff

Through-doors to adjacent room not sound-insulated. It would be fair to those booking to point out that hotel's parking space may be under pressure - but ample space is available near the hotel.

The friendly staff and their willingness to assist when asked. The location of the hotel and the position of the rooms we had gave us a lovely view over the Menai. Atmosphere in the hotel is very relaxed and friendly.

No glasses in the room other than plastic cups for bathroom use. No fridge, although there was a space for one. No bottled water. (would expect all three in a hotel of this rating).

Perfect location and staff very helpful and accommodating. Yummy breakfast and fab evening meal in the bistro. Child friendly.

Room a bit dated and mattress very uncomfortable but the staff soon rectified this for us. And the sea view was lovely.

The position is excellent with fine sea views. Service was good and our stay was very pleasant.

There is still a need for some redecoration on parts.

Potentially lovely hotel in need of some decorative TLC. Our room next had a very large hole in it and a bathroom in need of upgrading. As it stands it is expensive for the quality. Outstanding location.

Plenty of character. Size of room and comfortable bed.

In need of decoration, which is in hand. Too dog friendly - even friendly dogs lick your legs!

Liked the proximity of hotel to the pier as we took the grandchildren on a fishing trip.

Didn't like the fact that the hotel gave preference to a wedding party when the residents had to wait ages (over an hour) to be served an evening meal. Breakfast was only just ready in time at 7.30 am as staff had had a late night owing to the wedding party.

A very friendly atmosphere, food good, room very comfortable, staff helpful & friendly. Felt very much at home,so much so that I would feel comfortable if I was to stay on my own. Also used the Beauty Salon which was excellent.

On one evening there was a wedding party in & we were eating in the Bistro, although the food as usual was excellent we had to wait quite a long while for our food,it would have been nice if we had been told that there would be a wait or an apology for the delay.

very central, but we won't be staying with you again. thank you

Restaurant staff were very inflexible to the point of rudeness. we were a party of 8 and could have had all our evening meals in the hotel but due to the inflexibility and reluctance of the bistro staff and restaurant to accommodate us at a table we ate elsewhere

The rooms were spacious and the staff friendly, Bistro was lovely

damaged dated furniture in room, paper thin walls and drafty windows that let in the wind and you could hear all the noise from the road

The hotel is going through a refurb and it needs it, some areas are looking tired and outdated. However our room has been recently done and it was amazing, felt very luxurious. The bed was huge and very comfortable. Breakfast was ok, not loads of choice but the cooked breakfast was all hot enough and ok to eat.

The dining room looked a bit tired and grubby but it might just need decorating. I think when its refurbished it will all feel a lot better, if its like the bedroom it will be fabulous!

nice old style look, great view, right on the sea, good starting point to explore a piece of the coastal path

the parking lot was awfully crowded and not properly arranged, terribly loud seagulls!

The coffee lounge is not the cold modernistic decor but a very comfortable and welcoming area with old leather armchairs to relax in with a wonderful view of the beach and the Menai Straits.
