Location was excellent and the common areas of the hotel were well maintained, clean and nicely decorated in keeping with the period style of the hotel. Staff were polite, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and accomodated the dietary requests not available on the menu. Although obscured by some building work to the rear, the views across the Menai Strait to the mountains of Snowdonia were a delight to wake up to. Unfortunately the decor and facilities of the room were tired and in need of renovation. Although the bed was comfortable the surroundings prevented a luxurious feeling; large stains on carpet, peeling paint in bathroom walls and woodwork, newspaper rolled up and shoved into single-glazed windows to prevent draughts. This may be an older-style building but these issues could easily be addressed to justify the price of the room.

The room was warm at all times ,staff friendly and helpful ..The lounge was warm and inviting breakfast very good also were the waiting staff. The room was in need of refurb badly stained furniture badly stained ,lacking varnish.window would not open and very dirty outside.Iwould not have paid £138 for this room £80 seemed fair as a special rate for season as many partys were booked.

Liked the hotel, good facilities, very clean and comfortable rooms and excellemt scenic location. The food in the snack bar was very good and we had a excellent breadkfast. Our stay was completely ruined by being in unbelievably noisy rooms! Rooms 109 and 110 seem to be directly over the function room where there was a noisy event followed by a disco that went on until midnight. It was impossible to sleep and we needed an early night for an early start in the morning. It was even difficult to hear the tv over the noise!! If forewarned or offered a discount on the ususal per night price this would have been more acceptable. We would stay here again but on no account would we accept these rooms or the two other nearby ones!!

The view apart from the porta-cabins Room was dirty, carpets were threadbare, curtains were hanging off the track & the bath taps did not work. Reception staff were rude.

the location is great, hotel is clean and the staff friendly, to sit in the sitting room with a cup of tea and my son eating a freshly made crepe, looking out of the window at the sea and mountains was heaven.

Good restaurant, bistro and bar with real ale. Lots of display cabinets with collectable items for sale as well. Very good beach front location on Angelsey. No view from the room, just the fire escape!

Convenient location Bedroom was ok overlooked the sea front. It had character Very tired hotel I have stayed 3 times in 6 weeks( becasue it was very convenient for work) each room had paint peeling off the ceiling in the bathroom. The last room the one booked here the bath was so small it would be difficult for a tall parson. The toilet had been replaced but not the vinyl where the old toilet had been. The bathroom shelf needed a varnish and paint had been spilt ( dried) in the bath where they had done the ceiling at sometime. So overall incredible shabby for a 3*. food not upto too much either as a veggie- was microwaved - I had to eat there twice because of the need for convenience.I Suppose you only get what you pay for !

I found the staff very pleasant and prepared to go "the extra mile" to ensure my visit was pleasant and relaxing. I would use it again if in the area. My thanks to all concerned. Not really a complaint, I booked a double room but was given a twin. This caused me no problem at all and therefore I did not mention it to any member of staff at the Hotel.

The evening meal was pretty good but that was about all! How can a bar run out of its best beer at 21:30 on a Saturday night? One staff member told us it happens every week! We waited 3/4 hr for our not very good breakfast and had to ask for tea & coffee at breakfast. The staff were unsmiling and the girl on the bar the night before could have withered a vine. The drinks prices were extortionate.

The location was great, on the waterfront and near the castle. The room was quite spacious and comfortable. The dinner and breakfast was good. We asked for a platter of sandwiches to be prepared for the evening as we were returning too late for dinner. They forgot to do this, but did produce something eventually, but we were surprised to find that it had cost us £25!!
