Bull Hotel  

The building is amazing! Great for a late night drink after a wedding. Breakfast was good. There is an antiques centre just behind the pub which is great for a browse.

The omlette was a bit poor

The Bull Hotel was very convenient for town centre and also bus services,

Comfortable bed and good sized room. Breakfast and evening meal were good. However, our stay was marred by the in insistant thumping overloud disco music coming from the bar immediately below us which went on until must midnight. We will not be staying again.

The shower in Room 2 is outstanding. I have never experienced power like it! The breakfast was good. The sheets were crisp and fresh and the bed was comfortable.

This hotel is exceptionally noisey on a Saturday night. We arrived back from our evening out, at 11.30pm and the car park (very small) was full of cars (so we had to park elsewhere) - and full of people who were outside smoking and being rowdy. I stayed in room 2 and the noise coming up from the bar was unbelievable; I could hear tops coming off beer bottles. This went on until 1am. The other family members were above the conference centre and that was just has disturbed, by the people in the car park. I mentioned this to the staff on checking out and they said that all the rooms are noisey. To be fair, the website points out that there are functions every weekend but I did not expect it to be quite so bad.

I Like everything the location, the hotel itself the rooms was clean and comfortable the staff were helpful and the breakfast was very good I would not hesitate to go there again.

Lovely restaurant/bar and rooms

Very good accommodation and a very obliging staff. Excellent value for the cost.Would recommend this hotel.

TV was broken.

Good value pub/hotel with central small town location. Car parking good. Food fair, and reasonably priced. Ideal for business stay-over or touring in Essex.

Room (in block) clean but could do with up-dating.

We loved the location of the hotel, pretty little village/town, the old style of the room, with beams etc was nice, and the breakfast was lovely the next morning, lots of choice and cooked really well. Good value for money

The bathroom let it down, the toilet was so close to the wall, that you had to sit sideways on it!! The bathroom really does need a bit of decoration, not looking for luxury at the price it was, but it could have been a bit cleaner as well

Loved the building from the historic point of view. Food good, staff polite and efficient. .

Bedroom was 'tired' and in need of some tlc '. One real negative was the incessant background electric pump type noise which was not condusive to a good nights sleep. This matter was raised with the receptionist on checking out.

It was cheap well worth the money

The room was dirty.The bathroom was very very small and the gap under the bedroom door was so large that someone could have limbo danced under it
