In the heart of the Oxfordshire town of Burford, the 18th-century Golden Pheasant boasts oak beams, stone fireplaces, and hearty food.

The Swan Inn is located in Ascott Under Wychwood in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside. This charming property features a restaurant and opens onto a courtyard with a garden.

Overlooking Witney's Church Green, The Fleece is a charming Georgian building with spacious and modern rooms. A good breakfast is served every morning, and Wi-Fi and parking are free.
Score from 114 reviews Very good
Serving local produce, offering a friendly welcome, efficient service and a pleasantly relaxed atmosphere, this former 18th century inn is ideal for those seeking to explore the Cotswold region.
Score from 350 reviews Very good
Staff very helpful
Most bedrooms have windows onto A40 a busy road No evening meals Parts in need of updating Probably overpriced for the facilities
Nothing was too much trouble for them. Location easy walk into town, bit of a climb back that burns off a few calaries.
Bar at night a bit quiet, having said that our visit was mid week.
The young man on the reception desk was lovely very helpful The Junior suite that we stayed in was excellent it was very big and comfy
Helpful and friendly staff Great location for the Cotswolds
Loved the building and style of bedroom. Gorgeous decor and cosy bed. Staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Close to burford centre.
The proximity to the road. Quite a bit of road noise.
Great hotel , reasonable priced. Central location. Very friendly staff .would definatley book again and recommend to friends.
Jerry and the rest of the team were very friendly from the outset and made our stay very welcoming. They were particularly good with our young son. Thank you to the team.
Nothing. But if there was something I could say maybe if they could serve meals but this isn't a criticism more of a suggestion.
On arriving the manager Shuai Hou greeted us warmly and with a big smile which never left his face,he was a diamond of a guy, always on hand to do his best to make our stay pleasant. The room was compact but was enough for our 2 night stay, bathroom was very good,we liked the 3 different hand pump bottles, hand wash, body lotion and shower gell/shampoo this was a plus also the power shower was great. We stayed in room 4 over looking the golf course which had a nice view. The bed was really warm and comfy which was nice as the weather was on the cold side for august. The breakfast was superb but maybe this was because Shuai was on cooking duties during our stay ha ha.Yes you do have to inform them the day before but does it matter!!!!!!!!!.It was fresh and hot which is the most important part.Car parking is not a problem here.Overall we would recommend this hotel but only if Shuai was there as manager as he really wants to make changes to improve things.
You have to cross a busy A40 to walk into Burford which is about a 10/15 min walk. Also they don't do an evening meal at present which could be a problem for some guests but this is an issue that the manager is trying to resolve.(bless him) We ate at the Mermaid pub a couple of times and found it to be good value for money and a friendly place to vist.
Our only disappointment was - evening meals should be served, obviously you have the kiitchen to do so and this would add to your attractions with ease.
The location was convenient, the staff was helpful.
The interior is very dated (and the bathroom too tiny), the breakfast was average and no green or peppermint tea which I thought was strange. I read that they are planning a refurb this autumn which hopefully will benefit the place greatly.
Location - but this is a problem with Booking.com as I thought the hotel was in Oxford - well that is what the website inferred - so I was surprised when I found the hotel was 30 mins drive away.
Lovely bed- wonderful nights sleep. Great bathroom. Quiet Beautifully furnished Helpful staff Would love to stay again
The owners greeted us very well and were very helpful.
The owners have not yesterday created a feel good atmosphere in the common areas. The hotel was overpriced for what it offered
Food, room, bar, staff and location
Some damp in bathroom.
Staff, decor, size of room and general facilities were excellent! Very easy to find and great links to Cotswolds, Oxford and area.
Road noise during the night.
Location was where we needed to be to see our family
Shuai, the manager, was welcoming and accommodating to perfection.
The staff are lovely
The bathroom was a mouldy and you have to order breakfast the night before which i find odd. The room was dark and there is no full length mirror to get ready. I wouldn't stay here if you need to get ready for an event.
Good bed nice pillows
Breakfast not good
The room was lovely - we were in the Junior Suite. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was pretty basic and not very tasty, but it came quickly and was as we ordered. I was expecting more from such a nice hotel.
The manager, Shuai Hou, was very attentive and helpful. He printed out directions for me to drive to nearby villages I was interested in. The breakfast was very good and made to order- the english bacon was similar to thin country style ham. My vegetarian daughter really enjoyed the porridge. The two twin beds were very comfortable in our room and we slept well.
There was some street noise of trucks in the early morning, as the Inn is on a main road. Although i was vaguely aware of the rumble of trucks, it did not bother me. The Inn only had breakfast - we went into Burford(very close by) for supper.
Friendliness and welcome of the owner. Good location.
Needs refurbishment. Lack of atmosphere.
Spacious junior suite with fabulous bathroom. Lovely comfortable bed and delicious breakfast in the morning.
No evening meal facility, but lots of choices of places to go within a short walk.
Lovely hotel attentive staff great breakfast very comfy bed
Shame about the chipped wash basin, mould on shower tiles and dirty loo seat
Staff attention when required.
Our booking was conditional on a 1st floor room confirmed by Hotel. On arrival a cock-up. Room let to other persons. With much help we accepted 2nd floor room and 50% reduction in cost. One of those things - they were most apologetic.
