Room had no heating (-5 outside) but it was turned on when i asked; it failed to come on again next morning and i was very cold during the night. Evening food was horrible and i sent it back. TV very poor quality, picture OK but sound had strange metalic quality and was hard to listen to. The only good thing about the place was the receptionist/ bar maid/waitres who could not have been more helpful - or apologetic. Best avoided

Location good for our needs. Although on main road, we weren't disturbed by traffic. We liked the ambience of the dining room (we ate breakfast there). Cooked breakfast well prepared. Night light very bright in the room but it was sorted for our second night. No hair drier in room. The bed was smaller than we would have expected. Generally a comfortable stay but felt it wasn't value for money, at £105.00 a night.

The breakfast wasnt served until 7:30 but we had to be at a meeting before then and the chef was kind enough to open up at 7:15 for us, the breakfast was lovely, freshly cooked. The only thing is the " mood lights" advertised didnt work, the lighting overall was very ,low, could of had a brighter light, also the tv is too small you can hardly see it at all, also could do with a chair infront of the dressing table. The extractor fan did not work in our room number 7, and the floor was very slippy and on quite a slope.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The choice of food at breakfast was very good Disappointing bedroon accommodation. The narrow stairways were difficult for OAPs to negotiate a very expensive hotel given the poor sleeping facilities

We loved the atmosphere it was a truly as we imagined an English country Hotel would be. We have just finished our 6 week holiday in Europe and England and while it was not the best hotel we stayed in it was certainly value for money it was the lest expensive hotel that we stayed in. The staff were friendly the room comfortable room breakfasts very good. We have recommended it to others.

The food was a very good standard Unfortunately when I first arrived the hotel was unaware of my booking but thankfully had a room available. When I took a shower the cubicle door fell off and hit me in the face and a could not re-position it easily. The wifi network name and password I was given did not work and unfortunately I was unable to access the internet.

Service was friendly, food was home cooked Our bedroom, and four others I was shown outdated and rather shabby. Right on the A40, no double glazing, so front bedrooms very noisy.

Staff were very friendly and the breakfast was very good! Also the wifi was good. The room decor could have been a bit nicer for the price, and the tv a bit bigger. Would have also preferred to have air con.

Close to town centre and plenty of parking. Free wifi. For some reason we were the only guests and so the kitchen & bar were closed during the evening of our stay. The bedroom was very "tired" and much in need of an update.

The ease of exploring from the hotel base, pretty hotel Very noisy due to busy road, staff all a bit lax, we were the only guests at one point and it took ages to get breakfast, also room wasn't cleaned one day and we had to ask for new cups and toilet rolls!

Fantastic staff who were always ready to help. We had a beautiful room full of character, it was a very comfortable stay! The breakfast was legendary! Excellent value and we would stay there again!! A wonderful hotel. Quaint room, friendly staff, easy to find, and the best full English breakfast we have had in years!

The staff were very helpful, offering suggestions and guidance and quick to respond. The breakfast (included) offered many choices and was excellent. Very conveniently located. Minor complaint which was rectified quickly, the soap/shampoo bottle in the bath was empty when we arrived in our room and we had to ask to add soap. Also, it was an odd bath/sitting shower set-up, which could be difficult if we had been any older - a very high step up into it.

Convenience of location on our route to visit our son's family in Bedfordshire, and within easy walking distance of the town of Burford. The breakfast was generous, well cooked and presented, and served in a pleasant dining area. The room and bed were comfortable and the ensuite facilities modern. We were grateful for the secondary double glazing as otherwise the traffic noise would have been disturbing. Staff were very pleasant, friendly, and helpful.

The hotel was very comfortable and clean. The room was very nice, the four poster bed with a mirror in the ceiling was an 'interesting' element! The water took a long while to get hot in the morning, and the pressure wasn't that high meaning the bath took a very long time to fill.

The age and character of the house. The restaurant and bar was nice. Reduced price for room was good. Location next to a very busy road. Some of the decoration was tired. Room would not have met expected standards of full price.
