The friendliness of the staff, the Atmosphere, the breakfast was superb, the whole stay was great thank you all. I personally think the premier rooms could do with cheering up certainly the addition of Pictures on the walls would greatly help and a television that did not look as if it would fall of the wall at any minute(room 46) |

Very nice setting in a lovely village within the New Forest Park. Reception staff were very friendly. Restaurant area overlooked park land. Full English Breaskfast was served hot using locally sourced products. Buffet breakfast had a good choice. Reception area appears to have been refurbished recently and is tastefully decorated but with antique/replica furniture blends in with the age of the building. However carpets, bathrooms and bedroom furniture in the main part of the building, although clean, were a bit shabby and could do with replacing |

The situation. Location to Forest, easy access to eating out, bike riding, walking & to other places of interest. The large attractive grounds & swimming pool were an asset. Friendly, helpful staff. Decor could be improved. |

The room was delightful, very big and very well furnished. The balcony was an added bonus. Having to walk past the kitchen to get to the room! Breakfast service was extremely slow - we waited 35 minutes for the cooked breakfast to be brought to us. |

Location, reasonably comfortable. The breakfast facility and service as well as the dining area were of a good standard as was the food provided. We would only recommend selectively. As a regular guest of the Wessex (10 years +) disappointed that a Premier room did not provide the same level of facility e.g. no refrigerator in room. Clean bed linen and towels piled up on floor outside rooms, where animals walk by. |

The service was friendly and efficient. My room looked out onto the grounds and I could see deer roaming. It was clean and comfortable. It was peaceful and relaxing. It's in the New Forest area and there is a Riding Stables at the back of the hotel for mixed ability and experienced riders where you can book a ride into the forest. |

Although some of the furnishings/carpets were a little tired in places, generally the hotel was very comfortable and the surroundings and position were delightful and the staff were extremely polite and respectful of their guests. |

very tranquil setting, beautiful grounds mediocre food not up to the ambition of the menu. Restaurant staff poorly trained and rude. Observed other guests being ordered around at breakfast as if in a boarding school. |

Hotel situated in beautiful area of New Forest within pretty village with good accessibility to large towns if required. Hotel itself was rather tired and a little dated. Although not specifically pointed out by reception staff front door is locked at 11.00pm and after an evening drink in the local pub we arrived back at 10.50pm to find ourselves locked out. The night bell elicited no response nor did knocking on the door. |

It is a very relaxing venue in a wonderfull area of the New forest. The hotel is comfortable and the staff excellent. The veiws from our room was a big bonus. The Breakfast was excellent but the Evening meal was dissapointing. For the cost I thought a tiny amount of vegatable was poor on top of a quite plain meal. |
