The location of the hotel is fantastic and we had a family room which looked onto the deer park. My son was amazed at the donkeys which just wondered around outside the hotel and how close you could get to them. The staff were very friendly and it was very relaxing all around the hotel and the breakfast was very good. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Burley Manor and would go back again. The only fault with the hotel is the decor is a bit dated but sort of fits in with the style of the actual look of it and our room did have a few cobwebs on the windows and the ceiling which we mentioned on leaving as it didn't affect our stay.

The main building was beautiful. Room was not in the main building it was in chalet style outhouses. The room was not clean, dirty chairs, part missing from bed frame, no valance on bed, shampoo, soap was not refilled from last guest, light bulbs so low that we had to have 6 lights on ans still not enough light to read. First reception staff not welcoming just gave key and said this gets you in drive around side of building not help with cases etc. Would not stay again.

Access to the grounds directly from the room (via patio area) Room was not made up/cleaned during the stay - we were left with wet towels and bed was not made, duvet merely pulled up.

It was a very relaxing hotel and the countryside was excellent The shower attachement in the room (29) was only at my knee height which made it difficult to shower properly.

Set in such a wonderful location and such a fantastic hotel it is hard to go wrong, waking up to such a quiet and relaxing place is heaven on earth Please please please stop people bringing their dogs!except guide dogs of course,if you are early to bed like us it is impossible to sleep when dogs are kept in a room wanting to go to the toilet, they didnt stop barking and you cant blame them when their owners do not return until 10 at night, such a shame, also the beds are lovely and massive,it is a pity that the duvet is not big enough,my wife and I were playing tug of war for it during the night.

The hotel is in a lovely setting with deer just outside the grounds and within views of most bedroom windows. Having an outdoor swimming pool a bonus, weather permitting. Our room was a really good size. Breakfast was of a very good standard. The one thing we did not like about the hotel was finding out that dogs are allowed into the bedrooms. We had a dog running around above our room! I think if the hotel allows dogs they should be allocated special 'dog owner' rooms or at least have kennels for them to stay in. I did not like the idea that dogs had shared the bedroom we stayed in as not a dog owner ourselves. Shame, as the hotel is really nice and in fantastic setting.

Quiet, peaceful excellent location and views from room.relaxing atmosphere.room was comfortable and clean.watching the deer was a bonus. The service at breakfast for cooked food was very slow and on one occasion the breakfast was not as ordered. The cereal and juice table was in the wrong place as a bottleneck was created when standing by the food table with the nearest dining table.

Very pleasant 2 night stay in comfortable surroundings in a characterful manor type property. Rural setting with good access to the New Forest and the New Forest Show, the main purpose for our stay at this time. Yes, a comfortable hotel particularly suitable for all age groups including family groups.

Beautiful hotel in superb location, stayed in a premier room with door opening straight out onto grounds with a view of the deer park. Absolutely fantastic when staying with a dog (as we did). Room was large and beds comfortable. Large tv, staff very friendly and helpful. The overall atmosphere was very relaxing and you were made to feel at home. Riding stables part of hotel, went on one ride very enjoyable with emphasis on safety for those who had not ridden before. Would definitely go back for a longer stay (stayed 3 nights). Despite the constructive criticisms overall an absolutely wonderful break! There is the potential for this hotel to be top class. The most obvious improvement would be the decor, as mentioned in other reviews it is a little shabby - our room had some wallpaper coming off wall and a marked carpet. The chair on verandah was frayed and looked unsafe. Other smaller additions - dvd player in room with access to dvd library, small fridge in room, room safe. Also shower certainly not a power shower! Food average.

Relaxed yet professional atmosphere and service. Location - just a couple of mins walk from Burley village and well situated for visiting other towns/villages in the area. Evening dinner menu remained unchanged during our stay. There were quite a few choices but there were some things we didn't want/like so our choice was very limited. Coffee after the meal was very much a 'hit or miss' affair - one evening we got fed up of waiting and left the lounge.

The rooms were spacious. The hotel grounds were big and lovely. The breakfast was excellent both in service and quality. They do allow dogs which is fine but our room smelt of them and it would be better if they kept animal rooms separate.

hotel in a beautiful part of new forest with view of deer park from room.we were in the annexe which was very nice although rooms a little dark.good breakfast. the only problem we had was the shower the water pressure was dreadful just a dsribble and hot water wasn't very hot, didn't need to put any cold in a whole bathful!we were 3 cyclists cycling to hotel and asked at time of booking if there was anywhere safe and secure for bikes and was told there was. when we got there we were shown a space at the back of the toilets that was not safe. luckily my room was big enough !!!

The hotel benefit from a fantastic location. If you like wild life there the hotel is surronded by dears and some horses. If you can I recommand you to book one of the "outside" room with private patio / balcony that laid directly into the garden. By a sunny day you will enjoy your tea in your private terrace. The rooms are more expensive but it worth it. The hotel itself is an old manor and the decoration and atmosphere is just fantastic, surronded by trees and animals. They manor holds wedding celebration as well. So you may be there at same time as a ceremonie. I would recommand this hotel. I did not like the fact that the hotel takes booking for the restaurant from people not staying at the hotel (living on Burley village or around). The restaurant has limited capacity and serve from 7 to 9 pm. Therefore when we asked at 6.30 for a table we have been told that the next availaibility was at 8.30. As we wanted to eat as soon as possible the staff proposed to eat at the bar/lounge. However the menu is mainly composed by ready made sandwich (not what we wanted). At the end we have eaten in a pub located few metres away right in the city center and the food and the service was excellent there. If you want to eat at the hotel I highly recommand you to book in advance. Also the breakfast is not a buffet. You need to ask for your eggs/baccon and they bring you only one plate.

We enjoyed the peace and quiet and the warmth/comfort throughout the hotel. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The new manager was very friendly and is a very good 'people person' who always had a smile and was happy to talk. The food was generally very good, as was the service and we hope to return next year.

Staff were friendly and hotel is located in a beautiful location Hotel soundprooffing is not fantastic. We were staying next to a family room and appreciate that this is not the hotel's fault but our stay was ruined by noisy teenagers and their parents. Also the hotel is great for dogowners as they allow dogs in the rooms - I am not a dogowner. I think they should restrict dogs to certain rooms and keep some for non-dog owners. You could smell their had been a dog in our room at some point which wasn't pleasant!

The Location, This hotel is set in the heart of the new forest As I booked a premier room for The Burley Manor though booking.com, when we arrived they assigned us a disabled room and called it a premier room and was informed that dinner will not be serviced that night due to a disco that was being held and that it should only be noisy until 12 - 1 o’clock, this is not what we wanted as it was supposed to be a quite get away. The decoration was tired and would have suited someone of a more elderly age. We asked to change room and all they could provide was a twin room and was as equally bad, but this time the shower did not work. In the end we asked for a refund and the hotel staff where accommodating and we left and went home. This hotel is not worth the extortionate price for a night in my opinion. Very dispointed and unhappy as well because this was a suprise for my girl friends birthday.

Burley Manor had a really homely and comforting feel. It was very welcoming and warm. It had some festive decorations around the hotel and this gave it a really Christmasy feel. It had an old fashioned feel about it which both myself and my wife really liked, but this didn't stop it having a modern outlook, coupled with good old fashioned politeness and charm. The evening meal in the restaurant was excellent. We both felt that the bedrooms could do with up-dating. The bathroom, in particular, felt tired and past its best.

I stayed with a friend. We both work in London and found it totally relaxing and loved the style of the hotel. The stay was excellent value for money, the staff were very accommodating and welcoming on arrival. We liked being able to sit in the lounge to choose from the menu before being seated for dinner and then coffee/tea in the lounge after the meal. The bed was very comfortable with beautiful views from the window. A morning paper was delivered to the room before going down to breakfast, which was in the conservatory, with a very large choice of breakfasts within the continental and full English breakfast ranges. It is not far from the village of Burley with its interesting and unusual shops, just a ten minute walk. We will definitely return and would recommend to others without hesitation. Thank you for a lovely weekend. Jenny and Wendy. The Manor has recently been bought by a new owner, who will be refurbishing. Hopefully the ambience of the building and the quality staff will not change.

“Staff were wonderfully helpful. The bed was the most comfortable we've slept in for many years. Real coffee in the room, real milk, chocs and mints, and loads of soaps and creams in the bathroom. All this more than made up for a slightly dated room. Good breakfast.” Adrian, Inverurie |
