Property is looking a little tired. Water heating system could be up dated.
Unfortunately the mattress of the 4 poster was lumpy and very uncomfortable. Seemed as old as the wonderful bed.....Had to put the eiderdown over it to be able to sleep. Apart from that excellent
Wonderful room with stunning views on 2 sides, 4 poster bed, large 2 person bath. Free wi-fi, great restaurant with excellent dinner and breakfast made to order. Staff were friendly and helpful and loads of free parking. One minute walk to the beautiful Burley Village.
There was nothing i didnt like about the hotel, some parts abit shabby but its an old buildingc
The hotel is situated in a beautiful setting, the rooms were clean, bed was comfy and the food was superb!!
Urgently needs renovation. Understand new owners (New Forest Hotels) have this in hand.
Beautiful location overlooking deer park. Faux manor house design.
Top quality evening meals, all in a beautiful setting.
Spacious rooms but needs new carpets and updating.
Closeness to stables.
Receptionist was not very happy when we arrived but was better by the morning. Parts of the hotel was looking tired and needed some maintenance. The grounds needed some attention.
Good size room with a lovely view without paying the extra. Very grand and original features in the hotel. Very grand dining room with an added conservatory. Good nights sleep without being disturbed by other guests. The breakfast was amazing, excellent choice and delicious!
Beautifull surroundings and lovely shops and tea rooms
Service was great and the room was better than expected, great grass area for the dogs to run around. The evening meal and the breakfast were very good.
didnt like the fact thatthe hotel allowed dogs
the hotel was in its own grounds with red deer who visited at sunset.two minutes walk to the village.there are riding stables behind the hotel with a great ride/walk into the forest where you can see free roaming ponies.nice couple of pubs within a five minute walk, especially the Queens woth nice food and decor.
Worn out interior furnishings, carpets, bathroom. Mattress was a little too soft.
The peacefulness of the location, the history of the hotel and friendly staff. Bedlinen was good quality.
Easy to stay with a young baby.
The poor English speaking waitress gave me a hot plate which i then burnt my hand on. She said "hot" but nothing more.
We have stayed here several times and really like it. The stable block is fantastic if you have a dog as you can just open the patio doors and let him roam safely.
The bed was not very comfortable
Great location and pet friendly
Staff tried hard to please
Window wouldn't open and kettle didn't work.
We had a premier room which was lovely and big, the breaskfast was lovely and they cooked to order. The only thing I would say is for a premier room it could do with a update.
The rips in the sofa not good and the curtains need attention
The room was warm and clean and had a nice view from the window
The position and originality of the hotel were very pleasing which made for an enjoyable stay
The room was in need of a refurbishment. very expensive. eespecially as they try to charge more money.
I had a lovely large room though I felt sorry for people in the room under me as the floorboards creaked!
Great location for the local village, staff were very polite and food excellent. Room was clean, and view was beautiful. We enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel
The bedroom we had been allocated was small, dark and very tired. We were told they were fully booked but found us a better room when we said we couldn't possibly stay two nights in that room. Breakfast was clearly cooked by two different people, first morning it was lovely second morning was heated up bacon and sausage and tough. We will not be staying there again.
The location of the hotel was perfect for us to visit mother who is in a nursing home nearby
Great place to stay slightly faded in décor but this did not distract from great staff perfect location and very good food
