The staff were fantastic. The log fires and warm cosy dining room and lounge The building itself - lots of character
There was nothing I didn't like. The bedrooms were to me like a pair of comfy slippers - slightly frayed round the edges - but all the more comfortable for it! The bedroom was of a 70's decor - which might not suit all, but didn't bother us as it was very clean and warm.
Everything rooms could do with re decor but that was part of the charm of an old place
Warm welcoming staff very peaceful location good service and rooms were very large with excellent facilities very warm hotel and good food will be going back in the spring with all my family good disabled facilities we had a lovely stay would recommend this hotel its within walking distance of two very good pubs with good food menus also in walking distance of the cycle hire shop an excellent trip we will return in the new year .
Lovely hotel, friendly staff great location, beautiful building and clean rooms. Great value for money and one of the best breakfasts I've ever had!
The building itself is just delightful and then the beautiful views from the hotel are uplifting. The staff were very pleasant and a good breakfast was served. All very good value for money.
Not a lot
Poorly decorated. Bathroom a disgrace - shower was rubbish, but at least ours worked! Receptionist needs some training - mainly in being a receptionist, but also a human being able to communicate! Very poor given the price - needs a major overhaul.
Situated in a prime spot in the new forest and hotel in its own grounds with lovely views
We enjoyed our break & would defiantly return :-) the 4 poster bed was really comfy :-) The food & location was perfect for us.
No information in the room re: breakfast times etc
Tired décor, in need of a revamp
We loved everything about the Burley Manor....although the decor was a little tired...it did not hamper our delightful stay....the room with a view of the deer was totally unexpected but so wonderful....staff very attentive...and the food was delicious. Burley was in our opinion the nicest village in the area....and we were sad to leave the New Forest.
Lovely bedroom on the 2nd floor overlooking the deer paddock to the front of the hotel. Really comfy bed and quiet location made for an excellent night of sleep. Prompt breakfast service and good choice of hot breakfasts served piping hot.
No fault of the hotel but there is no lift to upper floors. My 85 year old mum puffed up 2 flights of stairs to 2nd floor, but best to ask for a ground floor room if stairs are an issue for you.
Friendly/efficient staff, great location, good value.
Lack of a good bitter beer. Rooms are a bit 'tired' ..but would hate the hotel to alter in any way, and any slight improvement should be done piecemeal rather than shutting the place down and changing things completely. Burley Manor has a great appearance and atmosphere as it stands.
Helpful and welcoming staff and lovely setting and deer in park
No prices on dinner menu and rotting window in our annexe room
The location, the period features, the excellent dining room.
Could do with a refurb, renew carpets and bathrooms.
The views. The staff. The location. The historical feel to the hotel compared to more modern motel equivalents, very "British"
The leak in our room which could have been disastrous for my laptop & work bag if it had been the morning before when my bag would have been in the way. The leak had obviously happened before too
The only thing we liked on this hotel was its location.
Friendly and attentive staff & excellent service and food. Spacious & airy room with beautiful view across fields. We know this area well - this was a special break away for a special occasion and our particular requests were fulfilled with charm and efficiency. The hotel has a very friendly & relaxed atmosphere- accommodating children, dogs and business groups equally.
Didn't expect Premier Rooms to be in the Annex so that could be made clear on the web-site but compensated for by having beautiful view. Furniture a little scuffed around the edges.
Location and breakfast
There was no lift and this hotel would not be suitable for anyone who finds it difficult to climb the stairs.
Location was good. Breakfast was lovely. Piping hot. Staff were very pleasant.
The hotel is in a beautiful setting, good location nice and quiet. Great for walking and cycling. Nice menu and the food was good. Rooms are tired and could use a little TLC but saying that were clean and well equipped.
Reception staff could have been slightly more welcoming on arrival. Hotel has 2 different menu's which created confusion and staff did not appear to be certain of how this worked either.
Very Dog Friendly Food Good Staff helpful & friendly Comfortable Lounge Relaxed ambience No TV in the lounge Dining Room very pleasant also Conservatory
Bedroom very small Poor lighting Room tired White Bedding No biscuits Hotel looks tired Needs new carpets etc Could not visit the stables Laurel Hedges cut down but not cleared away. Looked unkempt
The friendliness of all the staff they were always willing to help. The size of the room. You would need to pay more for the size in other hotels. The view ( Deer every morning) The quality of the breakfast and evening meals.
No remote for the TV. Kettle not working properly we had to hold it down until it boiled
Friendly staff, good food, great location. Looks great from the outside and the interior has some lovely features. Great view of the deer park from window. Nice venue for a couple of days, but not longer.
Tired furnishings and decoration. Desperately needs a good interior designer who knows something about the period. This could be a great hotel with some money spent on it.
