A family owned and managed inn, George at Easingwold overlooks the pretty Georgian market square, and offers a warm welcome, fine food, real ales and good accommodations.
Score from 132 reviews Excellent
Less than a mile from the historic center of York, this hotel, which was built in 1870, retains stained glass windows and a splendid oak staircase.
Score from 1475 reviews Good
On the banks of the River Ouse, The Queens Hotel is in a great location for the many shops, restaurants and bars that the center of York has to offer.
Score from 1298 reviews Good
Used as a base to travel to York. Poached eggs just the best!
A good quality Hotel which offers value for money. We have stayed here many times and never been disappointed.
Staff were all quite friendly and helpful. Room was clean & bed was comfortable. Rate was reasonable. Country location was very nice.
Room not at all soundproof. Guests returning from onsite function made it impossible to sleep. Hotel bar is open until 2 am. Had to park in dark auxiliary lot as function guests used up all other spots.
Everything apart from lack of heating controls and some double sockets didn't work
Lack of heating controls Some double sockets not working
Food, friendly and helpful staff.
Very poor quality of wifi in the room. Had to use the signal in reception area.
Clean, Comfortable, welcoming staff, really nice breakfast.
Ground floor room with footpath to the car park crossing directly outside window. People walking past to and from the hotel seemed intrusive. Grassed area outside room could not see why paved footpath could not of been further away!
Quality & customer service at this hotel was excellent. We had evening meal which was superb at only £24 for three courses well done to all at this hotel
Drunken wedding guests having a scrap but that was nothing to do with the hotel itself & I must say the staff handled the situation professionaly
Woodsy setting, comfy beds
Frequent weddings meant loud, often inebriated clientele.
Spacious room and quietness. calm surroundings and yet near the city with a car. We did not use any other facility, but we found it excellent.
The bird of prey centre next to the hotel was fantastic and discounted for hotel guests
The hotel is quite far away from other pubs / restaurants.
liked it all
just wish they had got the bed right in first place, double booked got twin
Good size rooms we was in 211 first floor , plenty of parking and the breakfast was lovely , plenty to choose from
Room was nice, breakfast had lots of choices. We had a car, so location wasn´t an issue, but it´s about 20 minutes from all the attractions in York.
Small tv in room, big wedding going on, so breakfast was crowded and breakast wasn´t being replaced for that many people at once.
Room bland, bed poor ,pillows poor.
There was a wedding on at the hotel at the time which meant lots of drunk and loud guests. The bar was also ridiculously understaffed and we had to wait a long time to order food and drinks. The food was standard pub grub as the restaurant had already closed (9:00).
The quiet Location
The front of house staff could have been more amenable. They could possibly smile!
Evening meal, food was stunning
Surly receptionist, everything seemed too much trouble. Breakfast serving bar constantly short of food.
The room, bed & toilet were all large in size compared to other hotels.
Unless you have a car, the hotel is in the middle of nowhere! The parking area is large with enough spaces but they should invest in more hotel entrances! It doesn't make sense to park at the back side of the hotel & then walk around the large building in the middle of the night just to use the front and only entrance! The breakfast choices were poor! There is a club or an event hall in the hotel with lots of noise coming out of it during some nights!
Accommodation, food and service. Poor facilities.
Location to York
Hotel had no atmosphere rooms small bed and pillows were awfull
not enough staff in bar area due to a wedding
Large space for having a drink in the evening
Charged extra for a executive double but got given a twin room
Good food ,lovely grounds and close to York park and ride.
Poor service from some staff on reception. Unable to contact the manager to give us a decision on a new bed or room cancellation. The bed for our son was very poor a rickety metal fold up with sunken mattress ,resulting in a stiff neck for our six yr old.
clean and comfortable room. Great location.
