The size of family room was excellent. Plenty parking space. Breakfast was ok. Very peaceful.

Location of hotel was well out of the way. Staff friendly and helpful if you could track them down. " hiding in the hills somewhere".

Attractive old house with good modern facilities. Dinning room that looked out onto open countryside. Good parking and with new drive and attractive gardens.

The breakfast was served by young staff who though willing needed more training, and played Radio One loudly.

First of all I booked a room via booking.com well in advance.. Thinking that would give me a great deal. Wrong. Price was reduced and I could not cancel my booking. I paid £85 for a room that was then advertised at £60. The hotel definitely wasn't worth £85 a night, very tired, scruffy and the room had a strange smell. On arrival the previous occupant of our room had taken the key, it took 20 minutes to find the spare.. A Yale key with the number 2 written in marker pen on it.

Staff member, Robin, welcomed us at the doorway. No other hotel has done this. We were generally very comfortable. The bathroom was spotless. Staff were pleasant and obliging. Value for money at peak period.

Going through stale bar to bedroom. No shelf in the bathroom for toiletries. A hard bun served with tasty beef burger. The same music selection repeated at meals.

    Nothing.

Was given Room 4 which had a view of a skip and old farm buildings. Breakfast on 1st day was very poor. Shower water pressure was rubbish. No glasses for teeth cleaning. Curtains hanging off.

room was large and clean; bathroom big and modern; bed was comfortable; breakfast was large; breakfast room was bright and airy; staff opened the bar for us when we arrived at midnight

price inflated because of room shortage due to Commonwealth Games; bar area was dated and a bit smelly

I liked the friendly staff,Burnhouse Manor building itself.Best steak pie for dinner that my husband has ever eaten.

Breakfast could have a bit more variety, sausage could be better quality.Dining room in need of tlc, ceiling needs a new paint job.Sister hotel Crowwood,we stayed one night,is in bad need of update, but breakfast was better than Burnhouse, more choice.

The mattress was really uncomfortable. The room in general just looked run down. Also we booked through booking.com and our booking wasn't registered with the hotel.

Staff were pleasant once you'd tracked them down. Breakfast was excellent.

Staff not visible - we had yo go into staff areas and call out. In a back room next to staff room and storage areas. Room not clean, toilet dirty, sheets dirty, bath dirty, sunk leaked, shower curtain hanging off, no milk out at breakfast for cereal we had to ask.

    Location near to ferry port.

I stayed here on my way to the way to Arran. This hotel is appalling. There are so many things that I will list them below, 1. There was nobody to greet us upon arrival 2. No bar staff when trying to get a drink 3. Room was dark and dingy and lock on door wouldn't work (worrying) 4. Hotel was staffed with kids with no idea how to pour a pint 5. Rooms leaked from the ceiling. 6. Broken beds 7. No chef to make us breakfast.... bed and breakfast ?? 8. I checked my bank account today and money had wrongfully been taken from my account its now been refunded but i do consider this theft I would not recommend anybody to stay here especially if your planning a wedding here. STEER CLEAR!!!

It was very tranquil, we stayed in the suite which was particularly lovely.

Unfortunately I didn't have a comfortable nights sleep, as the bed was not really comfy and the duvet wasn't large enough.

The food was very good. the price was good.

Evening meal served only until 8.00pm. Breakfast was advertised from 7.00am but no staff on duty until 7.20. No bedside lamps so could only have the main light on to read with. Overall decor a bit jaded. No wardrobe. Very small television screen, remote didn't work.

    price, thats all

Arrived at 19:45hrs no one on reception. after 15 mins waiting a member of staff turned up, no apology, and confirmed my reservation. He then spent the next 20 mins looking for the room key ! Eventually said “give me 10 mins” and I will call the manager to find out where it is I suggested he comes out to the car where I will be waiting for him At 21:00hrs I decided to pursue the lost key scenario to be told “ah, yes, er I’ll ring the manager now” I suggested that he find an alternative hotel and cover any additional costs. After another 10 mins he then came out with “ you’ll be ok, the room is open anyway” I then suggested that this was less than secure and was I expected to carry £10k worth of equipment with me everytime I left the room. The penny dropped! He then went away for 5 mins and returned with a room master key on an elastic band the room (No.6) is dirty and loks as though it is resereved for the Booking.com guests. There is a kettle with free sugar and milk, that's it, no coffee or tea On check out day i got up in time for breakfast at 07:00hrs to find kitchen in darkness, dining room in darkness, front door still locked and no sign of any staff at all.
