Food was wholesome and good
Plates were not removed from dining at night to breakfast. Saw no need of reason.
Breakfast was nice and we were the only ones there - when we checked in staff did not advise on breakfast times etc
Been a nice property - rooms not the cleanest and could do with a touch up - bed comfortable but pillows worst I have seen in a long time as flat and lumpy with no support
Welcome to dogs Comfortable Easy going atmosphere Excellent & friendly staff Clean room, lovely bed
Near to main roads so local dog walking was difficult
The room and the friendly staff
Bad experience all round
Ordered Sandwiches the Bread was hard and stale. Could not cope with the cold Room. Only one person on Duty who you could not find as she was working in the other bit of the Hotel. TV was faulty.
Pretty much everything. The unclean room. The disgusting toilet The freezing conditions
pillows too soft.
Food was fantastic, staff were friendly.
The suite was in need of repair ! They advertise a double spa bath with a built in tv, the bath was faulty and there was no tv attached (see advertising pics of suite) The superking bed is actually just 2 single beds pushed together , the bed side tables are blistering and blemished, toilet paper still in the pan not flushed ! Found hair pins/kirbys on the carpet ! Proof that they dont hoover properly ! Also empty coffee and suger wrappers sitting beside the rooms tea making facilities! The iron was burnt black and the ironing board needs to be replaced ! Room was very cold with no heating control.
Not much. The only thing we liked was the quiet location and the car park.
Everything else. While the hotel looks ok from the outside, the inside's pretty dirty and round down. We were given a room (number 7) which hadn't been cleaned (tea cups used, dust everywhere, spider webs, mould in the shower, a dead fly in the bed, all untidy... a disaster. The only reason we stayed was that we booked only one night and we arrived at 10pm with our 20-month old baby and we didn't know where else to go. Completely unacceptable even at the price of £49.20 the double. I hope someone reads this review and does something about it so no one has the same experience.
Location, views and the staff were lovely
The refurbishment affected our overall comfort and the bed was a little uncomfortable.
STAFF VERY WECOMING AND FRIENDLY VERY EAGER TO PLEASE NOTHING A CHORE ..I LIKED BEING TAKEN TO MY ROOM ...NOT MANY PLACES DO NOT DO THIS..VERY ...GREAT FOOD....COMFORTABLE BED ..LOVELY DECOR...MY DOG WAS MADE VERY WELCOME SHE LOVED HER STAY TOO...ALSO GREAT LOCATION VERY PEACEFUL ..THANK YOU..
WINDOW IN BATHROOM WAS VERY DIRTY WITH LOTS OF FLIES AND SPIDERS OPENED WIDOW HADNT BEEN CLEANED IN AGES NOT A NICE VIEW OF A SKIP WITH RUBBISH IN IT ....
Food in evening was excellent
Tea and coffee making facilities on window sill as no space any where else in room to have them
Beautiful countryside environment We were upgraded to get a suite Reasonable price 30 min from Glasgow
need a bit of renovation
Very tired. Disappointing outlook from bedroom since the hotel is in a lovely area. Poor choice of fruit etc at breakfast
ib liked that the staff were friendly and helpful, there was breakfast included and it was very clean
was woken up 2 nights in a row because of loud bangs and very noisy guests very early in the morning about 12.30/2,.30 am.
The size of family room was excellent. Plenty parking space. Breakfast was ok. Very peaceful.
Location of hotel was well out of the way. Staff friendly and helpful if you could track them down. " hiding in the hills somewhere".
Attractive old house with good modern facilities. Dinning room that looked out onto open countryside. Good parking and with new drive and attractive gardens.
The breakfast was served by young staff who though willing needed more training, and played Radio One loudly.
First of all I booked a room via booking.com well in advance.. Thinking that would give me a great deal. Wrong. Price was reduced and I could not cancel my booking. I paid £85 for a room that was then advertised at £60. The hotel definitely wasn't worth £85 a night, very tired, scruffy and the room had a strange smell. On arrival the previous occupant of our room had taken the key, it took 20 minutes to find the spare.. A Yale key with the number 2 written in marker pen on it.
the honeymoon suite nothing to much trouble for the staff good food
Staff member, Robin, welcomed us at the doorway. No other hotel has done this. We were generally very comfortable. The bathroom was spotless. Staff were pleasant and obliging. Value for money at peak period.
Going through stale bar to bedroom. No shelf in the bathroom for toiletries. A hard bun served with tasty beef burger. The same music selection repeated at meals.
Was given Room 4 which had a view of a skip and old farm buildings. Breakfast on 1st day was very poor. Shower water pressure was rubbish. No glasses for teeth cleaning. Curtains hanging off.
Room size, amenities
Remote location - distance/travel to city
When the staff were around they were friendly and helpful. Good size room.
That staff were not seen had to ring a bell everytime you required them. Not able to get hot food after 9.00pm although sandwiches were offered.
room was large and clean; bathroom big and modern; bed was comfortable; breakfast was large; breakfast room was bright and airy; staff opened the bar for us when we arrived at midnight
price inflated because of room shortage due to Commonwealth Games; bar area was dated and a bit smelly
I liked the friendly staff,Burnhouse Manor building itself.Best steak pie for dinner that my husband has ever eaten.
Breakfast could have a bit more variety, sausage could be better quality.Dining room in need of tlc, ceiling needs a new paint job.Sister hotel Crowwood,we stayed one night,is in bad need of update, but breakfast was better than Burnhouse, more choice.
