Food and service was excellent. Staff were courteous and polite. They were also very helpful with any queries we had about the surrounding area.Would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a comfortable hotel in a good location.
Nothing to dislike.
The breakfast was beautiful The staff very friendly and welcoming Very close to the lake, we walked to the little car ferry and close to the boat tours Although we were 5 in a room it felt very spacious and bathroom clean and good size
Location and ease of parking, rooms (standard room) heating dining room. Amount of options for breakfast, (see comment on dislike)
Cumberland grill was a let down,it had been left under the hot plate and was drying up, this was every day.I have had better grills on a cheap National coach tour. Given the low number of customers at the time and given the overall price i expected better.
very nice dining room
Not too keen on duvets ... get too hot.
Staff couldn't be more helpful. My husband left his sony Walkman behind and the staff posted it back to us. Breakfasts were hot and there was a choice of individual cooked meals. The balcony.
The room smelt damp and cold.
Good size room, comfortable bed and a lovely breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff.
A shame the exterior of the rooms didn't mirror the original architecture as the buildings around were so beautiful
Ground floor rooms, easy access to rest of hotel. lovely garden excellent choice of breakfast menu.
there really isn't anything not to like!
Just excellent Great location Quality food
Comfortable and well_situated. Friendly staff.
Dining room too small for the number of guests, so that we had to pre_arrange our breakfast time and were unable to have dinner there the day we arrived which is usually our preferred option.
Not a very good selection of drinks at the bar no draught beer.
The meals were excellent and Cumberland sausage from Plumgarth's for breakfast. Very good indeed. Staff were very pleasant and helpful
The room was very comfortable but it is a motel style hotel with rooms external to the main bar and restaurant area. A very minor niggle! Service was great!
The breakfast was good with different verities. We arrived with an extra child and they managed to accommodate us (with an extra charge)
Since the rooms open directly to the outside, they are a bit noisy. The staff are not as friendly and welcoming as you would expect in a small hotel.
Dining room and staff. The gardens were fabulous.
Our room was very small and the shower was ridiculously small. I am not a big person but you could not turn in it let alone wash yourself. We were there 2 nights I did not shower the 2nd day . bathroom door would not lock.
Stayed for 2 nights in spacious comfortable room. A little dated and chintzy but clean and fit for purpose. My request for good wifi had been noted and room allocated accordingly. Breakfasts were impressive...amazing selection of fruits and cooked items. Staff were courteous and respectful. Excellent location near to town centre, adequate parking. Overall, a very good stay.
Rooms probably need an update soon. Quirky layout may not be great in poor weather...making a dash to main building for breakfast may be an issue for some!
The location of this hotel is excellent. The staff on arrival and during our stay were most polite and very efficient. We chose a deluxe room which was massive. It had a wonderful 8 foot bed with lots of soft pillows. Definitely will choose this room on our next visit. The bathroom was large with a big bath and brilliant shower also loads of white fluffy towels . All in all I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel cant wait to return.
Excellent food, excellent attention from the staff, room clean and very comfortable, location great
No Wi Fi in the rooms..had to go to the Reception to check emails etc.
Staff very helpful and friendly. Dining Room- attractive views of the garden.
Re above' would you recommend friends' etc. Only if they are young and agile enough to climb very steep stairs with their luggage. We had to request alternative accomm due to no Porter and no LIFT!! We had a chalet that needs some TLC but OK. Could do better .
poor bar facilities not value for money
The rooms are excellent, with a balcony. The queen size bed was enormous. The staff were very friendly. The location is superb, just a couple of minutes walk into Bowness.
Drinks prices are much too high for a three star hotel. Breakfast should be a serve yourself buffet which would save the hotel costs and avoid the delay of having to wait for breakfast to be cooked. I asked for an extra sausage and got it on the last morning. We were never offered any extra toast.
Room comfortable, dining room excellent, garden pretty
Warm, comfortable with very friendly staff. Lovely food, thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Would definitely stay there again.
There was nothing to dislike !
Within 5 minutes to the Pier in Bowness. Easily accessible for the town from two directions. The food was excellent, the breakfasts can last you all day and we had one evening meal which was very good. The chalet/room was very comfortable, large and tea/coffee facilities. We had a private patio area which with the fabulous weather was invaluable. The staff were very welcoming, helpful and pleasant. I would certainly recommend this hotel.
If you have mobility issues, make sure you contact the hotel direct to ensure your accommadation is suitable. The hotel is all on a steep bank as is access to the town from the lower road. Our accommadation was at the top of 12 iron steps, not really suitable but I coped for the short time we were there. All accommadation is chalet/apartment type, lovely, clean, comfortable but not what I was expecting, as in contained within one building. That being said, I would recommend this hotel.
Location was good staff breakfast
expensive for food
Nice big room.Lovely breakfast room with a garden view.Plenty of choice at breakfast. The option for evening dining.Very quiet.Walking distance to Bowness.Easy parking.Bar and lounge area.
