All the staff were working hard all the time to deliver a good service to their customers - which doesn't happen in many hotels. The whole hotel was spotless including our room, we haven't stayed in a cleaner place. Walking distance to Lake Windermere and the town so very convenient location but surrounded by trees so was also picturesque. Will return.

We stayed only for 2 nights, main reason we chose it was because it is a Dog froendly hotel and we were travelling with our puppy. as we arrived we were surprised by the location ...only a few steps from the Lake and city restaurants etc... when we booked the only room available on the website was a twin room, as soon as we arrived they upgraded us to a double room with balcony and at no extra costs! good parking available , very clean Hotel and very friendly staff.excellent choice! we would definetely recomend and stay there again.

We booked a double room at the Burnside for my husbands birthday weekend. Upon arrival we had been placed in one of the beautiful bedrooms that are on the terrace at the front of the hotel. Im not sure whether this was classed as an upgrade as such, but it far exceeded what we expected. The room was spotless, beautifully decorated, had tv, hairdryer, a walk in (disabled) shower. The bathroom was huge and bright, and the room itself had lots of separate wall/ceiling lights so you could make it as bright as you wanted. Also double patio doors on to the terrace. The temp was perfect. Really thick luxury curtains on the patio doors to avoid any chill.

Location very good, just 0.2 mile away from the Bowness lake cruises pier. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Some people mentioned the staff during the bfast time not helpful sometimes, but during our stay, they were all keen to help. Free swimming pool and gym until late night. A very good place to stay. Four of us booked a double and twin room during our visit. The bed in the double room was fine and very comfort, but beds in the twin room were not comfortable.

Plentiful and very efficient staff, well organised hotel with good facilities The staff at meal times particularly dinner (key event of the day in terms of cost - £120 and time) were a little stiff and unwilling to chat and get to know their guests. I was keen to praise the matre d as my steak followed by creme brulee were close to 'historic'. He did not seem to know how to respond to praise and soon went back to the more socially comfortable task of waiting and clearing tables. Later in our holiday we noticed him and other staff in the local chinese restaurant, relaxing over dinner. Interesting that both guests and staff ended up in there.

The staff welcomed us and gave us maps to local walks . check in was easy . Room nice and quiet and clean.Bar staff excellent The pool and leisure building is very dated and could do with updating. The breakfast was a bit of a fiasco - constantly run out of plates with people queing and not knowing who to ask . No one new where to sit and someone came down in there nightwear

The Burnside is located in a lovely setting and provides easy access to the town, where we dined and had a few drinks in a local bar. Very enjoyable and relaxing weekend.

The location of this hotel is close to lake side even though walk up to a little bit hill. We can easily get the ferry terminal. We were frustrated their response about mistake of the booking about breakfast when we booked. However, at last, they did.
